Do you think that "All cats get furballs, they are a normal part of cat behaviour"? Then it's time to think again! Furballs are many things but they should never be considered normal, in fact they can be life threatening.
In this video we explore how and why furballs are created in the first place, and check out a method for managing them.
If you feel that your cat may have a blockage, whether caused by a furball or something else, please seek emergency veterinary treatment right away!
Common symptoms of a gut blockage include:
Vomiting
Pain (growling, hiding away or not wanting to be handled)
Pooing less or liquid diarrhoea
Low energy (lethargy)
Little or no interest in food or drink
Weight loss
Other signs of feeling sick i.e. drooling, lip smacking and swallowing
A string hanging from their mouth (never pull it).
