A student of mine wrote her graduate thesis on the way the biggest symptom of the dystopia in Fury Road is how people are dehumanized until they're nothing more than the meat of their bodies: women turned into bodies sacrificed to rape and forced pregnancy, men turned into bodies sacrificed to war and competition. There's disability going unaddressed by society EVERYWHERE, and the only body allowed to seek protection, health, and comfort is Immortan Joe's, because that's what it means to have power--that you're allowed to decide, unindoctrinated, what your body will be able to do. It was a fascinating paper, and the crazy thing is how much of it required very little interpretation. It's clearly exactly what Miller is going for--we're all just cannon fodder to the people in power.

I think this movie gonna be great. They got the main crew back. I get some people complain on the CGI. I don't mind that. I think the movie will be more polished when it releases.

The first Mad Max happened, I thought it was set on the cusp of the collapse and Road Warrior was after he survived the collapse. But this takes place well before Fury Road and it's already 45 years after the collapse? Is Max Rockatansky the highlander or something? He's like 30 years old in every movie, covering a span of 60 years.

I believe the 'collapse' was already in motion before the first Mad Max movie, that's why the world doesn't look apocalyptic but kinda third world

A lot of people don't know that most of the stunts in Fury Road were REAL. It was nonstop action and I've watched it like 50 times, anything George Miller does, is day one for me.

Talking about Mad World Building, George Miller changes his world's dramatically in the Mad Max films, all thanks to Joseph Campbell's books. ...Furiosa is gonna be a very different film The only flaw is that this production had a lot of covid problems with the exterior shots, forcing studio shots .. Fun Fact : Did you recognize a young pre- radiation effecte Immortan Joe, with the same same back hair due , holding hands with Furiosa with their feet dipped in the water. Furiosa was one of his first wives in the comics This film is definitely not gonna be MEDIOCRE! 👍🎬

I feel the same way about prequel as struggle soldier does but this is just another story about another character from the fucked up world of mad max so in a way it doesn't matter to me it being a prequel and I'm gonna enjoy watching it.

i dont think this is like the typical hollywood prequel or spinoff because george miller had this all planned out before fury road even came out. he already had all the back stories for these characters written because he worked on fury road for so long
