My chihuahua hates when I brush him with a normal brush but loves it when I brush him with the furminator I bought two days ago.

This is good if you use it lightly and carefully. Applying it too hard will rip out healthy hair and follicles. It can take out the underlying hair from a bristle brush very nicely.

I have to put this out there... I am super in love with this tool!!!!!! I could make a fabulous video, but I haven't yet. I have 3 wire haired fox terriers. They are beautiful and it is recommended to strip them. I have stripping tools, clippers and you name it tools. NOTHING has been as great as this furminator! I LOVE IT!

Just bought one for my cat and it's amazing! And my cat loves it!

After some research, i learned what a de-shedding tool really is. Its used only when your dog is shedding. This is not to be used everyday or every week or even every month. I use the furminator 2-3 times a year, when my dog starts to "shed" a new coat. Every week i use a "Rake". And everyday I use a simple brush or one of those rubber brushes. I also like to the rubber brush "ZoomGroom" during baths.

Dont know why this popped up in my recommended but I have this brush and it is incredible and a life saving tool

I used to use a Furminator and loved it UNTIL I realized that it doesn't just strip out the undercoat we all want to get rid of. It also cuts those nice outer guard hairs we love about our dogs and really want to keep. Then, once those have been cut in half, we end up with the new growth of undercoat (which is produced year round) growing faster than the guard hairs that do not grow all the time and sometimes don't grow at all for year. That leads to a fluffy appearance as the undercoat gets to be longer than the remaining outer guard hairs. What I use now is just a standard shedding rake with two rows of teeth (prongs, really) that strip out the undercoat, but do nothing to the outer hairs. Also about $50-60 cheaper than the Furminator brush and available at any pet store. Good luck and happy grooming!

use a undercoat rake. theyve use dogs with double coats that are one colour. if it was a dark golden retriever (with a light undercoat) it would look patchy where it cutting the top coat.

Summer is just around the corner, I used this on three of our dogs and the plastic handle broke inside the outer rubber grip. I would not say this is a great product. I shall be returning mine tomorrow

If you have a puppy, keep the removed hair away from the animal and throw it out in a kitchen bag. I was marveling at how well my Furminator worked, and at that second, the shepherd pup bit the removed hair off the product and I had to chase him around the kitchen to retrieve it! ha ha

It is expensive and clumsy. I use QuickShed brush. It is fast and my dog likes it.

If only my puppy would sit still and not try and bite at everything because she thinks anything and everything is a toy. Hopefully she will grow out of it lol

I bought this for my pug but the pug wasn't hairy enough for the furmanator so I went and got a puli instead as that's like a hairy pug and they both have "pu" in their name so it's like 66.67% the same dog but in two separate bodies.

How is this any different than my slicker brush? I remove much more hair, daily, from my Catahoula. Our house is still covered in hair even though we daily sweep with a special vacuum for pet hair removal. She is in excellent health with a beautiful coat. Even now, at the end of summer, she appears to have lost no volume at all. I need something that is capable of removing much, much more hair than this tool appears to be capable of.

I think some dogs dont like it. In other videos, the dogs aren't sitting still and end up walking away.

Annoying to see a "groomer" use it on the white dog at the end. That coat is way to overgrown with shed and undercoat. You need a good rake or comb that furminator doesn't get down deep with thick coats like that. Smh 😑

Hello, I HAD to stop by when my humans let me use the laptop. Today my humans bought me a FURminator and WOW!!!!..... I didn't realize how much loose hair I had. It's an awesome bit of kit. Humans, please don't be put off by the seemingly high price, it's worth every penny, and saves your dogs' hair going everywhere. Just a quick note from my human....... "IT'S NOT A F@#KING RAZOR, IT'S A BRUSH, THAT REMOVES THE HAIR THAT HASN'T FALLEN OUT YET, A BRUSH!!!"
