Furoshiki: The Ultimate Zero Waste Gift Wrap
Wrapping paper can be so wasteful, given that most wrapping paper cannot be recycled, so many folks have been on the hunt for a zero waste gift wrap that's eco friendly! Enter, the furoshiki. A furoshiki is a traditional Japanese cloth, adorned with patterns and originally used in Japanese bath houses and to carry items. They've now evolved into a reusable cloth bag, a wine bottle carrying device, and a form of zero waste gift wrap that can be used infinitely! In this video, Naoto will show you how to wrap your gifts and make a shopping bag with a furoshiki.

I would probably also use a furoshiki as a shawl and a scarf. Also as a headscarf. Maybe also a napkin for street food. I'd also tie the two diagonal corners to each other to make a bag similar to the ones that fictional characters carry on the end of a stick. Then I'd carry things in the bundle.

I have a question can you make a backpack? Or pack with one strap? I like your video it was very informational! I would also like to know where to purchase furoshiki cloth.

These are 100x100 cm, or around two feet on either side.

@@KnifewearKnives, correction. 100 cm is a little more that three feet, so the furoshiki is essentially a three feet aka one yard square.
