Stardew Valley brought me a lot of comfort while I was quite ill for a couple years. I was in the hospital a lot and in bed almost constantly and I felt like it gave me a chance to live in a way that my situation wouldn't allow. I realized at some point maybe two years ago that I wanted to do all of the Stardew things for real: taking life slow, supporting small businesses, getting involved in my community, giving more gifts, exploring my hometown, connecting with nature. In many ways, it's changed my life and I will always be grateful.

I work at a stationery store, so planners and diaries are my obsession. Loved hearing you talk about the “incorrect” layout 😂😂😂 Sha’an you should check out Mossery, if you haven’t already. They have the correct layout, with the monthly view at the start of each month. They do artist collaborations, and you can customise the front with your name or initials monogrammed. (At no extra cost) They should hire me! I fill mine with little illustrations of what I ate for lunch, my bedside table, films I watched and books I read and water colour or coloured in tea cups. My heart feeling sad, or times when I’ve had blood taken. So many little moments. I get so much joy looking back through my planners and they feel more meaningful to me. I can only imagine how beautiful your planner would be if you did something similar. ❤

I think the layout of the tv and couch is much better . One way you could combat the back of the couch look is to put a really thin long table behind it where you can put your keys etc when you come through the door! makes the space usable and prettier than just a back of the couch

I'm not usually influenced but... just ordered Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow 👀 I've been watching your content since 2017? 2018? But I think YT changed their algorithms in a way that it stopped suggesting your videos for awhile. I stumbled upon you again and have been bingeing while I work. Your take on the things you enjoy is so refreshing in a time when everyone reviews things for the sake of trying to get a sponsor or PR stuff. Just wanted to say I love your content and your work and your energy 🍑

your excitement about things is such a great reminder to just love everything to the max! Going to try that eyeliner, and I've heard such mixed reviews on Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow that I've held off on reading it, but I've put it on hold at the library now. :) I think we have slightly different reading tastes (just based on the books you've mentioned in previous videos) BUT The Traveling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa (told in the perspective of a stray cat that gets adopted) is one of my favourite books. It's sweet, a bit silly, and emotional (it made me sob, but the story itself is mostly a happy one). Can't wait to see what you have in store this year!! 💕

Omg that books sounds up my alley - one of the things I liked about Klara and the Sun was that we discovered the world from the perspective of an AF (artificial friend). We only learned about the world as they did, and sometimes the conclusions they came to were skewed because of their lack of experience. I feel the book you suggested might have those elements of things I like - putting yourself in the shoes of something with a completely different experience - new ways to see the world!

@@furrylittlepeachI love books told from a different perspective. The creativity is a whole other level. For The Traveling Cat Chronicles I think I have to preface (cause it’s caught some friends off guard when I’ve recommended similar books) is that the language is very direct and short compared to more Western fiction. 1) Its a cat talking, and 2) I dont know Japanese, but I always wonder if translations water down flowery, descriptive language? Unknown, but just something to be aware of if you like description etc.

Love a rearrange day. I'd just pull the couch away from the wall and just leave a foot or so of space, or put a cute lil skinny table there. That way the couch faces the TV and the fireplace more equally

love seeing your favourite things! Also on the topic of planners, I just wanted to share that I’ve been doing your method of Weekly priorities/weekly brain dump (from your planning video) for the past 2 years and it’s seriously changed my life!! ☺️ I struggled for a long time to find a way to keep my chaos brain on task, and that way really clicked for me. The more you get excited and passionate about anything, the more I love you. I think I get it when you got emotional talking about enjoying life and loving love. I am learning how to do that and keep conscious of that when I am going thru my life. But now, stardew valley. Oh boiii, that a deep hole you jumped into. BEcause the lore of the world, the people, the adventure, the insane grind you can get into!! I have like a fair 300 hrs in the game since 2016 and I am nowhere near done with it.

2 things; it's not a book rec, but the AppleTV show 'Mythic Quest' (which I think you'd like anyway! And, bonus!, Australian actor Charlotte Nicdao stars!) - season 1, episode 5 - it's pretty much the plot of Zevin's book! It's so good, and each season 'Mythic Quest' does one "self-contained" episode that can be watched as a stand-alone, which in Season 1 is that one - 'A Dark Quiet Death', episode 5, *so good*. AND, not a like-for-like similar-read but I have a feeling you'd enjoy 'Every Version of You' by Grace Chan.

The house is beautiful! Maybe the sofa against the left wall so it faces the dining table/window. Mount tv on an arm and you can pull it out from the wall/angle towards the sofa. If your skin isn’t broken try Dermal therapy very dry skin cream (I use it on my kids dry finger tips), Hamilton Urederm cream is a light moisturiser, bepanthen nappy rash cream is sticky but it creates a good skin barrier. Procreate is my fave - I keep asking them to create a vector version!!!x

So just finished Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow after your recommendation and loooved it. Thanks for sharing. It reminded me of these books. None of them of course are quite exactly like it but the *vibes* or core ideas of the books felt similar - “love rosie” for its timeline of years and portions of life happening, for the friendship/love between two characters and all the side characters that play a part and are fleshed out. - “One day” similar concept of two people figuring out themselves and each other and the messiness of life and the layered feel of really knowing these individuals. This one also makes me miss the characters and think of them as old friends once I finished, throughout the years, as I feel like I will with Tomorrowx3 - crazy rich Asians trilogy: the style of writing seemed similar in the way the authors are able to describe and paint such layered pictures and create such a visual world around the topic/locations/characters in each books - The husbands: similar in the way that tomorrowx3 felt as if “games” were a character on its own that shaped the book.. this book has a slight sci-fi/philosophical aspect that feels like that as well. The author also writes characters/their quirks that reminded me of tomorrowx3 - the midnight library: similar vibes to “the husbands” it reminded me of tomorrowx3 in the way that you’re living out this characters experiences and looking over their life which causes you to look at your life through a whole new lense. Thanks for your content 🧡it brings so much joy and inspiration

Haha I hope one day you will get a sponsor with those planners! Hehe yes!! this jam is very popular here in france!! personally, i feel like Hank Green's books An Absolutely Remarkable Thing and A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor were maybe the closest to vibes with Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow! it's along similar lines of being a creative and the friendships and relationships, but it has a bit of sci-fi to it!

I laughed so hard when you said the myspace girl in you came out and picked Sebastian in SDV because GIRL... SAME HAHA I picked him in my first run! I worked so hard to collect and befriend all animals possible in my farm 😂 that was my little obsession. I also love when games teach you little life lessons or give you little reminders like that though! Take it easy and go at your own pace. A happy reminder :) I really enjoyed learning about all your faves (I need to try that jam!!) I love hearing people talk about things that make them happy. You can feel their passion and see their faces light up as they talk about these things! I definitely want to check out that book now too. AHh sorry this comment is so long but I really enjoyed this long video too. Your bright energy and excitement for all things really lifted my spirits (it's been a rough start to 2024 but it's getting better!) Thank you for putting a smile on my face and thank you for sharing Sha'an!! ♥♥ Would love a part 2 too!

I would just embrace the corridor feeling behind the couch. If there's space place something like pinnig or tjusig (from ikea, just to give a picture) behind the couch, would collect the shoes too.

I have always loved Maybelline eyeliner even after using soooo many brands! You using them too all this time is so gratifying! 🥰Their waterproof one is the only one that can resist smudging on my oily face. 😂 (unless same except if I cry)

I love your videos adjacent to this because often times my interests align, I was absolutely obsessed with Stardew Valley the first time I played it in 2020. MANY hours were put into my main save file lol If you’re ever curious about DND aligned, RPG turn-based games that also double as dating sims, then I’d recommend Fire Emblem: Three Houses which is available on switch. It’s actually relatively easy to finish, the game play is reminiscent of fantasy chess but the art/animation is amazing and ALL the dialogue interactions are voice acted. Definitely a beloved favorite of mine. Baldur’s Gate 3 also fits into that same category but there’s an amazingly vast character creation option which I think you’d love. The content is more mature and it’s not a quick finish, but I like it so far! AND last but not least, Hades, which is a dungeon crawler type game based on Greek mythology but gives you the option to romance characters but mostly build and repair relationships, platonic or romantic. It’s fun on the go and it’s another game that’s fully voice acted.

I am definitely going to have to add that book to my reading list so I can check it out. Also, I LOVE Stardew Valley. My husband and I started a farm together, so we are partnered together in the game. If I was to do a solo farm though, I would marry Elliot because he is a writer. I like his character and Leah's since she does sculptures. In general I just love how peaceful it feels and the soundtrack for the game. Ugh, I love it so much! The concept of Animal Crossing being in real time with days passing when I am not even playing stresses me out, so I haven't played it. 😅

Maybe you’d like Nikolski or Six Degrees of Freedom by Nicolas Dickner. I read them a few years ago (in French though, don’t know how it translates to English) but they’re the first books that came to mind when you asked for recommandations based on Tomorrow x 3. Loved that book too, I totally get being emotional about it!

for Stardew Valley, if you're playing on your own and have the menu or mission board open, the time paused so if you need a break or need to look thing up, that's one way. but the time limit, it's just a simulation to make it more interesting since crop and animal behaviors change by season too! so take your time doing stuff around and explore everything as well as the story line, it's not task base unless it's your objective! i have friends that just literally go to sleep to skip days so she can reach spring to collect certain fruits/vegetable lmaooo oh and also decorate your farm!!! it's so funnnnn

I wonder if you scooted the couch away from the wall by a bit, and put the TV more at an angle in the corner.. You could also hang some mirrors on that wall to reflect the light from the windows, then I think the space would look super big and open :) Also have loved your work for years, thanks for being such a creative inspiration!

Yesss i was wondering about mirrors to spread the light! I might have to end up getting a new couch one day that fits a little better - potentially lower, and shorter - like the one I have at the studio???????
