Also for those who are unfamiliar with the way we show the live round-by-round scores... every time a round is finished the numbers that appear are from the judges' input. The Category scores (3-1 for MOO at the end of this battle) and the Category icons are lit up based on the accumulated points for each respective category, which are not shown until the final score board in the end. The battle is won through Category score and not Total score

Man, both crews were dope. But Morning of Owl just had so much energy, loved their positivity and enjoyment. Their energy just spreads and rubs off on you. And their dancers have a lot of upper body movement with their hands, which is a real strong point, cause a lot of bboys just do footwork but don't integrate the rest of the body. MOO really dance and feel the music and just groove with it.

I notice that MOO are always a tad more aggressive against other korean teams. Probably the first vid I watched that I felt that they lost their composure a little.

Yep that's right. the numbers in the middle represents how many categories the crews have more points in. and since there are only 5 categories, you can only get a maximum of 5 category score

Well, the lit up icons represent the categories where the crew has more points IN TOTAL. They count up all the points from previous rounds and then compare it. So it's not just from the previous round, but the total from every round. In round 2 they still had more in total for the last 3 categories but thanks to their high score in originality, they also had more points total in that category.

Ahhh so see if I have this right (also based on Strifes reply above) Throughout the battles as each round finishes, the lit categories and middle numbers represent the categories that that particular crew are succeeding in and not actual points per round. So the middle numbers can never exceed 5, am i right?

Even though MOO has a lower total score, they have enough points in the right places to win the three categories over FMC's one. *Note: The win is not based on total score, it is based on "Judges'" aka category scores. Thus, 3 to 1 for MOO

Most Korean crews have many of their main members who are now drafted to the army. Believe me, they are all interested in BOTY, but even if they win, half their members can't go. Jinjo is going to have to go to the army soon, maybe next year. Morning of Owl has been missing for two years because of the army, but has finally completed their mandatory service, that is why you see them back in action.

i think gamblerz and jinjo are either touring or just hella sessioning and some of rivers were in korean assasins but also i think its cuz most of the bboys are prolly doin military right now but i cant say forsures

Morning of Owl is one of the most creative Bboys crew ever. They remind us that bboying is first of all a DANCE, not just a sequence of dull "power moves". If all we want are power moves, let us just watch amateur gymasts. Many Bboys foreget that bboying is first of all a physical and emotional interpretation of music. Creativity over technique! Anyway, another extremely creative group just won BOTY 2012 ... Vagabonds...It would have been mind-blowing to watch Morning of Owl v Vagabonds.

In the hope of not being hated on, can someone explain this system to me. I get it all, and from what I understand it works like this: Each round they see who got the highest scores in each category. The more categories you score higher in, each equals 1 point. At the end of round 1, Fusion MC have 3 points, and 3 categories lit up. At the end of round 2, FMC scored higher in Originality and Dynamics, however 4 categories are lit up, and their score is 4...(continued...)

Fusion MC should've def. won that. I wish the system had objective reasoning for when crews go out of line. I like Moo, but that was a bit much, and they definitely should've had some penalty for interruptions
