In this third part of our Tape Investigation, we continue to perform a close analysis of MGSV's tapes, begininng with Chico's 1st tape from Ground Zeroes.
However, much of what is said here is pretty subjective: there are certain aspects of the tapes that cannot be verified objectively. I'd love to hear from y'all in the comments if you come up with a more satisfactory conclusion to some of these lingering mysteries.
Just bear the following passage from Melville's Moby Dick in mind when watching this series.
"Now the various species of whales need some sort of popular comprehensive classification, if only an easy outline... for the present, hereafter to be filled in all its departments by subsequent laborers. "Neruda was...concerned to produce a spiritual as well as a historical coherence. He took the view that peace meant coherence and that oppression involved the experience of a body being dismembered. In Central and South America, this dismemberment conditioned the agenda of poets who would write about oppression and their hopes for peace. In the poem 'Central America', Neruda speaks of hiding from government authorities and recalls his pleasure in the experience of solidarity with people who gave him refuge."
