Future Thing Between A Car & Motorbike | Futuristic Automobiles | EV 2022
China's SAIC Automotive, one of the biggest manufacturers in the country, has been letting its design team stretch out on some fun and futuristic projects through its SAIC Design studio. This one caught our eye: the R RYZR, an open-air 4-wheel EV focused on making drivers feel very much a part of the environment.
The RYZR concept explores how a user could connect and interact without the need for a key, or even making physical contact. The RYZR Smart-JKT is the key. It connects to the car simply through the motion of sitting in the seat, allowing control and giving the user access to an exclusive mobility club.
The R RYZR has two narrow hubless wheels at the front, with curved-profile tires similar to what you'd see on a motorcycle. At the back, there are two, much wider wheels placed almost side by side. As the tire profiles suggest, this thing's designed to lean into corners like a motorcycle!
The innovative centrally mounted steering control is configured to allow both riders access to a truly shared experience. Drive-by-wire technology means that the controller is independent and transferable.
The R RYZR is a blue-sky concept whose chief goal is to develop and stretch design talent, and for it to be sold in the market, well only time will tell!
