FX Pocket Chronograph 2.0 and True Ballistics Radar: Do You Need One?

The revolutionary pocket radar chronograph just got upgraded!
The original FX Chronograph changed airguns by providing the most important tool a modern shooter must have, in a compact, portable unit. Now FX Airguns is pleased to introduce the even smaller and improved FX Pocket Chronograph v2.
The v2 Pocket Chronograph is more pocket sized than ever at just under the size of a 2” cube. It now has an internal battery that is recharged through an included USB-C cord. Multiple mounts are also included that allows the shooter to attach the chronograph to their rifle in multiple ways.
The chronograph itself is a wireless radar-based chronograph. It communicates via Bluetooth to either your smart phone or the FX Chrono-graph Display (sold separately). The app (available for both iOS and Android) does more than just show the feet per second of the projectile. It allows users to store multiple rifle profiles, shows shot strings, standard deviations, extreme spreads and much more.
The chronograph itself can be used for more than just airguns. Any projectile travelling under 1250 FPS can be accurately measured. This includes subsonic rifles, pistols, CO2 air rifles, paintball and more.
Since the FX Pocket Chronograph v2 uses radar technology, it will work in any weather conditions, even complete darkness. Unlike other chronographs, no external light sources are needed. Simply attach the chronograph, open the FX Radar app on your phone, and start shooting!

I wish somebody would do a video on a general lets say 900 ft per second across-the-board with the various calibers and pellets to get a closer idea what the b c's are on the varying projectiles mainly pellets it's hard to find the info.

Congratulations bud! It is always good to have life goals. The name of the game now in KZfaq isn't subs, it is views. There are channels out there that have 5 times as many subs as I do but some of my videos are getting 5 times the views they are. Subs is becoming a dead metric. Good content is first! Keep on pushing brother. It all grows the sport.

Bc confuses a lot of people especially in center fire since the BC changes based on the velocity of the slug. for example if you measure a bc at say 200 yards then use that to shoot 600 it wont match. that's why BC is going away and being replaced with custom drag models like Hornady 4dof, typical BC models use predefined form factors like G1 or G7. you shouldn't change you input data to try to get matching BC data. measure the scope height and measure the mussel velocity if your hitting high or low then that tells you the BC is or is not what is stated. does this take atmospheric data into count when creating the BC number? and will it actually track small calibers out to 300 yards? so far all the videos i have seen is .22 only tracking inside 100 yards. If it can then i mite upgrade from the lab radar which really needs a firmware update lol

All good points. I’m gonna head out with my 6.5 and see how far out it reads. All my testing has had the distances at 25-50-75-100 or 10-20-30-40.

@@leadslinger5130 If you’re doing load work with centerfire the price difference will be made up quickly with the consistency difference. I’ve got a buddy who has the Lab Radar and complains about how many shots don’t get picked up. Wasted freedom seeds are expensive these days. 😂

@@UpNorthAirGunner for sure some times I regret getting into this industry without having an extra 100k to play with lol stuff adds up real fast. The commercial version of these radars is around 45k to 125k depending on range and resolution... I'll probably wined up getting on of these just curious if it's really as capable as claimed. The lab radar definitely has some flaws. Oh yeah nice job on the barrel tuner! I love it, thay was cool FX helped out.

@@UpNorthAirGunner alright I ended up getting a little ahead of myself and need time to learn before jumping into trying to take on a channel so this year I’m buying all the goods and going to learn them next year I’m taking all the stuff producing a channel showing the various different platforms and setups pushed to the hunting extremes in mid to large game hunting that being said if you were in beginning stages of building a deer rifle from either the king or dynamic block are you willing to give me a full run down of upgraded part list and what you project my good solid fpe range would be for 35 slug of course I would like the largest grain that will cycle through the mag and that’s honestly a concern bc vs like a Texan where you can have long slugs from my understanding we’re kind of limited in this dept. right but back to the build how can I get 250 - 300 fpe without going over 700 mm is it possible?

My issue with these builtin batteries is that the don't generally last much longer than 2 or 3 years and then you have to replace the unit not just buy new batteries

You're right, It also looks completely sealed so no chance of diyin' another battery in it. Although, it may be possible to run it off a battery pack, inconvenient I know. And of course, if the internal battery fails with a short circuit, you're out of luck anyway

The real and unanswered question is how does it go on a shared range... does it false read off adjoining bays/lanes?

The pocket Chrony only has a cone that reads a few yards from the muzzle so it doesn’t pick up other lanes. The True ballistic radar goes out hundreds of yards so it will read other lanes, but I’d run a pocket Chrony in competition anyway.

Bc I live in the city atm while in process of purchasing my home if I want to shoot without driving an hour I have to hit a range with other shooters I own a true ballistic but ain’t been to the range yet so my question is Chris do I definitely want to think about the small one with this being the case.

Geez -- why don't you show and explain the data that is shown in your super-fast scroll (at 9:54). It appears that the unit is tracking the bullet as it travels. This would be valuable data. Not sure if the unit does this. Can't tell from your review.

@@AJ99 Ah that is the ballistic solution at various yardages it calculates based on muzzle velocity and Ballistic Coefficient the chronograph calculates.

I'll tell you what I'm going to do ! And I would not do this for just anyone ok ! Since you have so many chronographs cluttering up your house you can send me one of them ! I promise I'll give it a good forever home ! My 28 year old chronograph took a dump on me and I can't afford a new one !
