FZ and Shurap are at the pinnacle of their craft as far as KZfaq knifemakers. There are others who can make excellent knives, but not with such succinct videos, and I haven't seen anyone do better wootz steel.

Beautiful as usual. THE GREATEST GIFT YOU CAN GIVE THE WORLD IS KNOWLEDGE THOUGH EDUCATION. Picture your vids being shown in a high school shop class etc. people want to learn, you have no competition with the vids which are amazing. Explain materials and purposes, how long the metal is in the forge. Take us on a journey through your mind. Like what kind of wood, belt grits (we can see how the progression works) adhesive resins.

Once again a work of art. The layering is beautiful, and the wood sheath says what is inside this big wooden knife? A real wootz wrapped in a mystery hidden in an enigma.

Correction strictly limited on your use of terminology. "Boku" (木) in bokuto means "wood." This is obviously a steel blade. What you made (very proficiently) was a 短刀 (tanto), dagger in English, though "short sword" in literal translation, though without a tsuba (鍔), it is closer to an aikuchi. Just thought you might want to know.

11:47 Little tip here, if you put pressure in the middle, your grind line (or shinogi, as far as Japanese terminology goes) will end up more crisp. If you put pressure on the sides, your sanding stick will tilt ever so slightly and round off the grind line and ruin the crispness.

you did a very good job this sword is beautiful As reference Boku-to is the name of a fake weapon carved entirely out of wood to resemble a scabbard. This weapon is defined as a dagger.(Tan-to) A samurai carries two swords, a main sword and a spare sword. If the spare sword cannot be used due to damage etc. Equip a wooden sword to deceive the enemy

Awesome build. I love this style of knife I want one so badly. It’s amazing how effortless and easy you make making these knives from scratch. I’m building my first knife right now and it’s a lot harder than expected. I mean I am using an angle grinder only because I don’t have a belt grinder but still it’s not easy.
