Finally, exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I uninstalled armory crate a long time ago, and now with auto mode I can finally use my joy sticks as a mouse cursor :)

Thanks for sharing this. Been neglecting G-Helper, but now it seems worth it. The only things I'll miss is ease of use updates directly from AC, and the function feature of one backpaddle. I use it for things like activating Rivatuner FPS meter / FPS Lock, Alt + F4 and more. The other is usually mapped to B or sprint in games like Elden Ring. I guess the trade-off is worth it. Going to dabble with REWASD again to extend the functionality for MMOs etc to have multiple layers of functionality pr button. If you haven't used it before I highly recommend it. Played GW2 on a controller with it and it was pretty great experience. Used an Xbox Elite controller with double paddles.

Theres a way to make the rgb lights dimmer than 33% on armory crate. Just use static and set the colors very low.. like 5 percent and mix match and its much dimmer then the base 33%

I have a lot of custom secondary buttons mapped for edge browser (close tabs, search etc etc) if I disable armoury crate and use this will those maps not work anymore, and is it possible to remap them again per app?

I've completely replaced AC with G-Helper on the Ally as well as my G14 and G15 laptops. It's a great replacement. The only thing that I miss is command center. But to not have all the extra stuff AC adds and to have more control over power / profiles is worth it to me.

Hey thanks! I don't see a way to do that in G-Helper. I do use another program called reWASD that let's you do just about anything. But it's a paid piece of software and is a bit of a pain to setup.

Hey I use reWASD. It allows for A LOT of customization. I have a shift layer setup in it where I have a custom cursor on the left stick, clicks and alt+tab, force close, volume and brightness on the D-Pad, profiles changes in G-Helper clicking the left stick in, etc. Also reWASD let's you combine controllers, so I have my external control and the Ally's controls show up as a single controller. I can use the left stick of the ally to steer and the right trigger on my xbox controller for gas in a game as it thinks it's the same controller. But it's a paid program and it's a bit of a hassle to get setup and working properly which is why I don't have a video on it.

Hey, I haven't compared them directly, but I'd imagine G-Helper is a fair bit lighter than AC. Asus in general has around 19 processes running in task manager. And G-Helper combines features from MyAsus (Updates, Battery Limits) as well as Armoury Crate so it allows you to turn off just about every AC service. This video didn't go into that directly, but G-Helper has a "Stop" button that disables some. However, the other ones need to be disabled in Services and msconfig. I might make a guide on cleaning that up at some point.

@@WuFluChan Hey, if you're talking about the "Armoury Crate Control Interface Support" in the BIOS, I'm not sure what disabling that does. All the Asus services are still running. If you look in "Services" in windows, you'll see even the service that's called "Armoury Crate Control Interface" is still running. So I'd have to look into what disabling that in the BIOS does, but it doesn't stop any services from running, from what I can tell.

Hey, I have a video on it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ed92hLiSyKetlmw.html. I recommend not using the "Apply Custom Fan Curve" because it makes the fans loud even if you drag the slider down to the bottom. It's using AC's manual mode which has a really aggressive fan curve.

Hey, this doesn't work on the Go. It's only Asus products and was originally designed for laptops. However, the developer has been updating it more and more for Ally support.

Hey, I've never had an issue with the program. Where was it boot looping at? I know when I have an external drive, right after the x,y.b.a buttons are shown it stops loading for a good 30 seconds before finally continuing. I think it's trying to read the data from the drive. I haven't had it boot loop though and G-Helper shouldn't have caused it to do that.

It really depends on what you want. AC looks cleaner, but it takes longer to get to just about everything (RGB lighting, VRAM, watts, button mappings, etc). And Asus has around 19 services that are running constantly in the background, you can see them in task manager. So G-Helper is a just a much lighter and less intrusive app with features from both AC and MyAsus. I don't think one is right over the other, I just personally prefer G-Helper to the almost virus level of process Asus and AC run in the background.
