Yeah, the comics are way more brutal than the show. The show is honestly better, though. The comics just seem to go for the shock factor. Black noir literally eats a baby in the comics lol

One of my biggest disappointments with the G-Men story arc was that John Godolkin's death wasn't explicitly shown. Its heavily assumed he was killed in the first wave of machine gun fire that wiped out the G-Men but without a panel of him getting torn apart, there was always a lingering twitch that he might have somehow survived.

I think a G-Men series would be pretty cool. Especially if they make Goodolkin the villain. Maybe even make it an analogy for child stars getting abused and thrown out once they start to get older with the series focusing around former G-Men attempting to get revenge for what happened to them

Honestly they could do a fateful interpretation of the G-Man universe so long as they took the law & order special victims unit route about it. Obviously they don't actually show the things that John goodulkin got up to, they just say there's evidence that he's done these terrible things and they make him pay for it in some way. That's pretty much how every law & order episode works anyway, still I can understand why it might just be easier not to explore that narrative.

I read the boys comics… people like to say they’re bad, personally I enjoyed them, and the absolute most enjoyable part was probably the G-Men sequence. Considering how much the show improved on the comics, I can only imagine how beautiful G-Men would be as a show

Ah yes having homelander fuck the presidents head, noir eat a baby, and the boys version of professor Xavier a child molestor truly sounds like a good read. The comic is just so edgy and disgusting with little to no nuance. The boys characters are a bunch of black trench coat suped up guys that fight other sups taking all the tension out of fights because unless a character is as powerful as homelander there’s nothing to be afraid of. Also all the heros are psychopaths or hedonistic with the exception of starlight and the one team that tries to do good but are mocked because they’re not cool.

It's because unless you are getting that grade A V like the seven most heroes get the cheap stuff . With cheap v you usually only get a power with no enhancements or enhancements with no powers. All the g men have powers but only human durability unlike the boys who each have enhances strength, durability, speed etc

Im intrigued at what The Boys TV show could do with the G-men. I’m honestly surprised there aren’t more deconstruction stories of the X-men because there’s a lot of potential for it. The conflict between Professor X and Magneto was loosely based on the supposed conflicting ideologies of Martian Luther King JR and Malcom X. And the Mutants as a whole have been used as allegories for various marginalised groups in society such as people of colour and people in the LGBTQ+ community. So you could get a ton of great social commentary and satire out of that angle if you handle it right.

The Boys is the only show that can say "Fuck the source material" to a pretty heafty degree and still make it a great show. I need a video that commentates on how this happened. Most times, I think writers start off with an agenda before trying to do a good show, or get too little information on what the property is really about.
