A G Wagon like this with a manual gearbox will be perfect for me, mostly because these old Mercedes automatics are having a very slow shift time which I don't really like while going off road with a stick is giving you more control (yes, I'll take a G Wagon off road)

Like to ask what is interchangeable on the base mounting for mechanical and p pumps….I have a ve pumped Cummins…and would prefer pure mechanical advance….

Hmm, I run a om606.962 in my s124 with Dieselmeken 8mm 190cc pump and 722.626 auto with ole controller and my temp lies just above the 80c mark. With an mb org thermostat and has done so for the past 3 years. Are you running a “cooler” thermostat than the oem one? I’m not complaining I subscribed a long time a go. /Markus
