Joe is guitar! I think he has it in his DNA. I used to sit in my room and listen to Flying in a Blue Dream over and over again. I think I even stayed up all night listening to it. I would sit in my floor with my headphones plugged into my amp and tried to mimic what I heard. After I got Flying in a Blue Dream I begged my mother to take me to the record store so I could buy all of his tapes.

You know why I love music of Vay and Satriani? This is really ART. Like poetry. Especially Vay's music. For example Van Halen is like a circuise artist, performance and technique skills etc. But if you listen to music of these two guys it's like poetry. The way they compose things, the way they play, the fingers dancing on the strings.

Hardly, he just has good showman ship! A show of is someone that does 8 finger tapping all the way through a live concert or wanks the guitar neck. Doing all that is fine but you need to balance it out with phrasing and musicality. That's what defines a show off between and musician and Steve is a musician.
