After 50 plus years of shredding (he practices 4 to 6 hours each day; including days with a show), Steve has had serious injuries to both arms/wrists (his right wrist around 2010). He broke is left arm (changed the way he plays) and has a repetitive injury to his right wrist; leaving no cartilage and forcing him to go from his technically blinding anchored "rolling" picking style, to learning how to play faster parts with a stiff wrist. Who are any of you to judge between them?! 1. These guys ENJOY playing together 2. You should enjoy what they are doing. They are entertaining you - not trying to get your fucking votes. :)

My first rock concert was Kansas during the Power Tour when Steve was on guitar. He gave such a great performance!

The 101 people who thumb downed this need to go elsewhere. These are 3 of the best guitarists on the planet and you can tell they are having a great time together, no competition, just jamming! Morse is the most understated of the three...he seems to be in awe and just having fun. He's every bit as good as Satriani and Petrucci!

Three truly wonderful guys - and amazing musicians - just having a Grand Time together on stage! This is what it's all about in my book! Also the rest of the band - they don't get much recognition - but without them, well....... :-)

This is what happens when three of the greatest drop the usual ego B.S., respect each other, and gang up on some tunes like lions taking big prey. Me, a Morse/Dixie Dregs fan since 77', I was stoked to meet Steve and as most people know, Steve Morse is a true gentleman, musical genius, great pilot and literally "Papa Badass" to John, Satch and Thousands of others. I pray his wife beats Cancer as I was so lucky to do. Steve is right by her side---no surprise there. God Bless Steve and the entire Morse family. Play On Old Man, we're one month apart in age, so I can respectfully say that...can't I?

That was awesome! The best G3 I have seen. Tasty, all 3. Nice tasty and not over the top. Its nice to see Steve Morse up there. I think he is over looked. He's the guitarist guitarist. But all 3 are too notch. And again kudos for keeping it true to the music.

Its nice to see different studies merge together, Miami and Berkeley. I always enjoyed the G3 mashup including Eric Johnson, bringing some Texas to the party. Guthrie Govan would be an incredible addition. Joe is doing great here, and I admire the Marshall sound. As much as I love Steve Morse, I would mandate he use a Classical guitar thru the entire performance. He could do it, well. His music is wonderfully melodic and complex, and as others have mentioned, forms a great song. High Tension Wires, forever.

Love these three. But I can´t help it - to me - there is something totally unique in Steve Morse´s playing.

When you play this song like that, it’s Van Halen’s “You Really Got Me” version, a cover that is wayyyyy hotter than original Kinks’ one.

Do you notice that at a G3 it is always "check your ego at the door." Besides being good friends, these guitarists are comfortable enough with their body of work so that there is never any "competition" on stage, or one certain artist taking up most of the time. A note for this show: John Petrucci cites Steve Morse as his main influence when he saw the Dregs at the age of 18. It's nice to see the respect these guys have for each other and that is why G3 works.
