T-Tap Wire Connector, you need just one and you can find them at your local auto parts store, harbor freight, walmart and @ amazon. Other Tools needed: 10mm socket + ratchet wrench, Flat head screwdriver, electrical tape, some zip ties, and a scissor

Black vinyl on the inside for sure, seems a bit too bright for my taste but the vinyl would help. and maybe a dimmer..? Not sure what kind of LED is in there

I just got a 2018 Q70 and am thinking of adding this, it's bad ass just very bright at a distance that it looks distorted though. Would also want to make sure my headlights and fog lights are all the same brightness and color.

Good video man. Imo I think it would look better if it was a little dimmed. Maybe blacking out the background would make it not reflect so much light?

Good video but i would say to use a “add a fuse” and get power from the parking light fuse from the fuse box in the engine bay instead of tapping into the wire it’s self it’s just a safer option and honestly the proper way for anybody looking to do this

I know its like a year after, by now you for sure got rid of that the older one is way better. If they made it with the outlines of the logo lit up , sort of like halo bulb, it would be so sick.

That's what I thought it should be outlined it looks like a big light with an emblem in the middle.. I'm sure he took it off.. I would have taken it off right after I got finished filming.

What was the size of the t-tap wire connector you used? Don’t they come i different size gauges?

I believe it was AWG 16-22. If you need t-taps, may I recommend getting posi-tap's. They are a little bit more but they work better in that it is easier to use and more secure over t-tap. Good luck!

Great video on the installation process.. couldn't ask for anything better.. unfortunately I think it would look better if the emblem itself would be lit up instead of everything else around it it just kind of made it a light with a emblem in the middle of it and the light itself the beam frayed out on the grill... Not necessarily a good look.. definitely doesn't .. OEM.... And I believe your voice describes what you felt about it.. I'm sure you probably took it off as I would!..

Yes, that will keep the led from turning on.

I believe you need one that is 6 inches wide and this is about 7 inches wide so it wont fit out the box.

Check the wiring and also the fuse for the fog lights.

Hey my wire tap is on a green and yellow wire and there’s a black wire sticking out as well if the parking light I have a 2011 g37 coupe will that work?

You'r model only has those two wires, it should work if you t-tap onto the green and yellow wire and then ground the emblem black wire.

Miami_g37 so the red wire from my t tap keeps falling out an is t making a clean connection the green an yellow wire is tapped but I can’t seem to draw anything from it atm the red wire is set in there not secure any tips would be very helpful

@@ionpaint24 try shaving/cutting a little bit of the rubber on the green/yellow wire and try to expose the wire enough to make contact with your red wire. Also, make sure you secured ground because otherwise this will not work and lastly dont forget to turn on your parking lights ;)

Weird question....Since you tapped into that wire when you use you’re blinker does the emblem also blink ?

No....however if I would have tapped into the third wire then each time the left blinker goes off, the emblem would indeed blink.

I would like it a lot better if it only turns on when you unlock or even car in idle like the Lincoln or Mercedes. The constantly on thing is a bit much IMO

Think about how do you want your emblem to turn on, i.e. when your parking lights/headlights turn on or do you want to control when the emblem turns on, independently of your lights turning on? The easiest way I found was to tap into the existing parking lights and use either a t-tap or posi-tap to secure the connection. Let me know how it turns out.

@@Miamig37 ok I should let u know that I know almost nothing about cars..but I do know that I am on love with mine and anything that is to be done to it I 100% want to be involved that being said i managed to put in the new grille and the new emblem..i want it to turn on when my lights come on.. I have stock headlights and 98% went smoothly like in the video until I discovered how hard it was going to be to access my blinker like in the video.. I couldnt even figure out how to get any of the lights to come out so i followed the wires to what i believe are my daytime running lights and used the t-tap wire connector to tap in...I havent checked since it got dark enough to see if it comes on so im going to go out and check now

My left turn parking bulb is no longer working 😫 SoS/. Update: replaced the bulb, blew it with the emblem, now left turn parking light only lights when signaled, not when i activate both from the steering wheel. SoS

Plus, if you lift the car up it will be a lot easier to tap into the positive wire than it is going to the parking light.

@@flipmode00 Bruh, I have a camera on deck ready to go and install on the front bumper, I eat curbs like its going out of style! The telsa screen while cool looking, in my honest opinion, it is not there yet. I've been following that mod for a minute and I'll shoot a video on pro's and cons of that setup and what I recommend.

Doesn't look good because it's bleeding light into the grill looks tacky. If you can place some plastic on the back to stop the bleeding it would look oem.
