I know this sounds super pretentious, but Drew Goodens humour has a layer of depth to it. I feel like Danny's humour is a little more superficial, but I still like his stuff. Anyone else know what i mean? I feel like Danny is too repetitive.

I liked his video on Lily Singh it was very well put together. He criticized her without making fun of her or trying to put her down.

Drew's video was far from mild but it was straightforward. He insulted her and her team's work which is just as hurtful. Also, a lot of his points were missing so much nuance. He sounded triggered. I watched and cringed at some parts but still agreed with a lot of his points. Gabbie's right if you're offering honest constructive criticism you have deliver in a package which people can receive it.

It is not childish to seek help and actively take the steps to better your mental health. I do not support Gabbie or her actions in any way, but going to a psychologist is not parenting, it is a possible and healthy solution to a damaging problem many people face. @Elisa Castro well therapy isnt parenting, therapy is actually very beneficial for a lot of people, but i just think that you have to use it the right way. you can't just use your psychologist as someone to complain to. you need to be able to admit your wrongs so you can FIX the problem. i dont know this for sure obviously, but i think that gabbie is just using her therapist as someone she can just complain to about how 'hateful' people are to her or whatever. she should actually be talking about issues and situations where she's been wrong so that she can learn and grow from that.

The thing is, when people give no negative feedback at all, it's hard to tell wether they genuily have nothing negative to say, or wether they're just pretending to be nice. If someone does give me negative feedback, that confirms they have the balls to tell me, so if they don't say anything, I can rest assured that if something were wrong, they would've told me and they're not secretly holding a grudge. I don't know much about Gabbie and even if I did, I can't speak on her behalf (I also didn't watch much of the video) but I think this might be a fairly logical explanation. It's the way it works for me at least, but I can see why it might sound contradictory.

And that can’t be easy. So I do understand seeking out criticism, seeking out honesty, in that circumstance.

My thoughts also. It sounds like she wants validation, and that’s okay, but it IS NOT criticism. Like that’s not the same. She’s taking “criticism” from people she sees as more knowledgeable than her, hence why she’s working with them, and ignoring criticism from people she sees as not mattering in the long run.

She did say in a video (not sure which one) that people were asking her to address that, but she doesn't know the full story and that it would need to be an in depth video, but many people have already done that so she didn't feel the need to. So I don't think she is going to make a video on that because it would need its own dedicated video, but she doesn't really make videos like that. She does the mini teas and it would need more time to explain it than her videos allow.

Back in my teens, my therapist had me write down good things about myself, and I actually went as far as to take a dry erase marker and write these things on my mirror to see every day. Just positive "I am, I can, I will" phrases like "I am kind. I am creative. I can accomplish this goal." That kind of optimism has seeped into how I view myself but also how I view others. Your mind is powerful and you can use that to your advantage rather than letting it destroy you.

Really solid point. In my opinion and from my experience it’s more like a double-edge sword, where while it can be somewhat of a coping mechanism and something that helps (it can be funny and make you a bit better), you can only do that so much to the point where it actually strengthens negative thoughts to the point where you actually believe it and don’t find any other way to heal those thoughts and that it’s not funny, but harming.
