I fell hard on pavement the other day. The following day my back, neck and right side of my body were killing me. Out of desperation, I went to a health spa here that has sauna and cold plunge. I did 4 cycles and went to bed. Today I feel so much better!! The pain is greatly diminished. I feel like I'll be completely better tomorrow.

That’s awesome. I just began using a sauna and cold plunge. I can say already that my chiropractor visits will be far less frequent.

Very interesting. I am from Scandinavia. Sauna. And ice. My mistake was to overdo do cold exposure. My body loves the heat as well. And it gets way better results when I train in both. Sauna yesterday. Rested very well My legs are burning now. Thumbs up. Better circulation

I think Gabby means anti-inflammatory response, not inflammatory. I used to way overdo the cold, as in cold ocean swimming. There's a point of diminishing returns that arrives early, and much more so regarding what Gabby is saying about an ice bath.

@@LoykazDuring the winter in Laguna Beach, I used to do long distance swimming after work, which was physical labor at that time. I undoubtedly didn't have the amount of calories, good quality calories I needed. Hence, i got 1st stage hypothermia many times, and 2nd stage at least 3 times. These were followed by having to walk back home uphill without a jacket or sweatshirt and sweatpants. No very bright!! Walking with hypothermia becomes impossible once you get well into 2nd stage.

While what they say its true, they've got to learn and read more about the biochemistry within the body when doing cold or hot. Doing Wim Hof Method for couple of years here 💪🏽

For ice baths , start with cold showers gradually. From hot or warm , finish with cool or cold. 30” first day , 45” second or third day etc .Eventually, after months, ice baths ( you can control the temperature also) , if you get a chest freezer.

"Scandinavia" How about Finland (Finland isn't part of Scandinavia). Modern Sauna is a finnish innovation and "sauna" is a finnish word (language). Some archaeologist say that when finn tribes arrived to that area 9000 years ago they brought sauna with them. So yes. It's quite old tradition. When you guys talk about things in a matter of facts, maybe check your "facts" before talking about it first. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p7-PkrKAyNyRXYE.html

@TRISTON BORING Yeah. Finnish word you dimwit. How about look in to it before commenting. "The word sauna is an ancient Finnish word referring to the traditional Finnish bath and to the bathhouse itself. In Finnic languages other than Finnish and Estonian, sauna and cognates do not necessarily mean a building or space built for bathing. It can also mean a small cabin or cottage, such as a cabin for a fisherman." -Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauna
