Wow killing it with the uploads. Got to say, you are kind of selling it. Been to the Czech Republic only once many years ago and just seen Prague. But the landscape and smaller towns do seem really nice. What draws me is how layed back and chill the vibe is there. You know, normal people, normal prices, good public transportation. Would love to go hiking here for a couple of weeks. They probably have some decent trails here and there.

Hiking in the Czech Republic is really good. All trails are well marked and the country has one of the densest networks of hiking trails in the world thanks to the Czech Hiking Club since 1888. The markers look the same in the entire Czech Republic, and the colours have been chosen for a reason: red stands for distance and summit trails, blue for significant trails, green for local trails, and yellow for short or interconnecting trails. The distance is given in kilometres.

Absolutely such a beautiful town, great you had sunny weather☀️. You have done such a great job of showing Cesky Krumlov. Loved the castle and the tower, along with the music. The paintings were beautiful, even the bizarre sculptures in the cellars fitted in with of the ambiance. Really interesting and worth the visit. 😊❤

Wow! I wish I had known about this place while I was driving around Czechoslovakia in 1990 and I was so close too from Napoleon's Battlefield of Austerlitz. I love castles and medieval towns and have been to many and climbed many of those incredible towers for amazing views but the views from this castle tower overlooking the town is truly spectacular and you hit it with perfect weather lighting. Awesome! Magnifique!

Cesky Krumlov is also known for the typical Czech summer ritual of rafting or canoyeing the Vltava river from Vyssi Brod all the way down to Cesky Krumlov and beyond. It takes about 2 days and along the way you will see floating boat bars in the middle of the river where you can buy beer and other beverages straight from your canoe or raft. There are also river camping places and open summer pubs with food along on the shore. Basically a kind of river tramp adventure.If you're in Cesky Krumlov I would also suggest to visit the little town of Rožmberk nad Vltavou upstream. It's also very picturesque and less than 30 min drive from Cesky Krumlov.

@@ErvuJukl Depends what glass, if it's some 14-18° sepcial, then yes, one glass can be enough, when it's pilsner urquel style (12°), than 3-4 glasses are mostly enough, but when I have headache or empty stomach, 2 glasses can be already too much. But ofcourse one glass in Europe means half liter, not a pint. 🙂 The thing is that most of Czechs drink from like 12 years old and they are really used to drink every day, so their bodies are already deformed by that amount of alcohol, for normal people who are not used to it, it's not that easy to handle alcohol. My father for example drinks like 100 beers every month (maybe even more) and he can have 10 glasses and he can still walk and he doesn't vomit, so it's really about what you are used to, you have to drink a lot to get used to it like that.

@@ErvuJukl BTW, I always prefer when I have freedom to not drink when I am at concert or music festival, you will definitely enjoy it better when you are not drunken, but with some people, it's just not possible in this stupid country where everyone is alcoholic. That's why I switched from music festivals to events like Comic-Con, because nobody is drunken there and it's much better atmoshere then, you don't vomit, nobody else vomits and you can talk with people and they remember you. I am not saying I am not visiting music festivals now, but most of people you meet there are drunken and they are lauging just becuase they are drunken, when you meet them again, you realize you have nothing in common with them and you have nothing to say them, I prefer real friends who speak with you even when there is no alcohol around.

I was shooting a music video on 1998 and I spent 3 days up in that castle. It was out of season so we had it all for ourselves. It was absolutely amazing, sunrises, sunsets, no people just the crew, I could even access parts where tourists cant go... amazing memory

Hi Gabriel, a lovely town immaculate the castle was amazing. I love the display of swords and armament. It is an awesome display of weapons used at the time "Knights in White Satin" and the art display was something out of the mind of Dali odd but interesting a kind of Pan's Labyrith.

Cesky Krumlov is great. We stayed there 5 days and still didn't manage to see and do everything. The surrounding countryside hiking is also great. I hiked out to the south, can't remember to which town. Are you going to Terezin (Theresenstadt)? Well worth a look around.

The effect in which the walls at timestamp 8:35 are painted is called trompe l'oeil, which literally means to trick or to deceive the eye. The actual technique applied on these walls is called Sgraffito: applying layers of plaster with contrasting colours.

There is WW2 video footage from that exact spot overlooking the village when Hitler takes the country of Czechoslovak. When I saw it I was shaken. To není kořist z válek, naopak, z Čech toho bylo spoustu ukradeno, hlavně Švédy a nacisty, není to úplně tak dávno, ještě před 1. Světovou válkou, jsme měli krále a císaře...málo lidí nebo jen studovaných ví o velké české historii, to že nás okupovali rusové ví spousta lidí a házela nás do východní evropy, ale to že jsme měli hlavní slovo ve volbě císaře ví málokdo. Na čechách ve středověku moc záleželo, říkalo se kdo ovládá čechy ovládá tak evropu. Jsme uprostřed Evropy, sice jsme slované nebo to alespoň tvrdí, ale víc máme společného s Německem, Lichnštejnskem, lucemburskem než z východními zeměmi, stačí se podívat na mapu evropy, Praha je západněji než třeba Vídeň. Do ruska to je hodně daleko, chvála bohu

To v Americe nemáte, že, jaká škoda. V čechách je spousty středověkých měst, vlastně každé město má historické centrum, každá základní škola se nachází v budově která je minimálně 100 let stará ( úplně každá né, 80 % ) u vás se staví do výšky a přitom máte spoustu místa. Jsem rád ,že žiju v česku, v menším městě s 50 000 lidmi. A jsme velmi vyspělá země, během 30 let se tady všechno opravilo, budova mají krasné barevné fasády, ale samozřejmě jsou tu taky okolo měst rodinné domy ( satelity ) , sídliště s činžovními domy, zdravím z Mladé Boleslavi města automobilů ( Škoda Auto volkswagen)

I remember last year when you were exploring Switzerland. 🇨🇭 The Czech Republic is definitely more affordable. I will never forget when you purchased a hamburger and fries for 28 bucks in Switzerland. It ain't cheap traveling in Europe but it's worth the experience.

I wish I had taken a Vltava River rafting tour as I spent time looking at rafting groups negotiating the rapids from the viewing areas. I stayed in Ceske Budejovice too (Cuba Bar and Hostel very affordable) as it was way more convenient for FlixBus which I took to Tabor. Orinda, Ca has Tabor as its sister city and I visited their Medieval Festival held there in September. It’s a pleasant town which has lots of former students from Miramonte and Campolindo High Schools and town is celebrated at Orinda 4th of July. See quite a few Czech 🇨🇿 at their Orinda Tabor stand after the parade and soak up civic pride.

Several factors, being a small town without an international airport is one for sure, and it's quite far from Prague which is probably the only city in the Czech Republic that most people ever heard about.

In that case it's a result of when I turn the camera, somehow the microphone is getting rubbed. I edit it out when I can but otherwise can't remove it. I know, it's annoying, would like to find a solution.

By the way, this town was the filming location for both of the horror movies Hostel and Hostel 2, where this was supposed to be a town in Slovakia. I have been to Cesky Krumlov and yes I stayed at a hostel when I was there :) Awesome town, like a mini Prague but with less tourists even if this is one of the bigger Czech tourist attractions outside the capital.

Not at all, these were already modern homo sapiens people who definitely replaced homo neandrthalensis in like 30 000 BC. The oldest little statue (Věstonická Venuše) from area of today Czech Republic is dated to like 25 000 BC.

Cesky Krumlov is nice but for me as a local it is too much a touristic spot. Being in Ceske Budejovice I would visit Trebon or Tabor, both are quite close, nice and not so full of tourists. Even though there were not so many of them in Cesky Krumlov anyway :) In Trebon you can visit another brewery.

The area around Cesky Krumlov was never much slavic. It was almost purely german up to WW2 and even the "slavic" parts of Southern Bohemia are mostly of celtic origin. Or were, now it is really mixed.

@@martinmartinp484 Even the entire eastern part of Germany is originally Slavic, why do you think there are cities with names like Rostock in eastern Germany? Of course also the area that today is the Czech Republic was also Slavic.

@@vaultkeeper2 Yes, Eastern Germany is quite slavic. But Central, Southern and Western Bohemia were mostly celtic. There were some DNA testings in the most stable areas - which are not easy to find here :) So the "management" was slavic but the majority at least in these areas were celtic. Maybe the same in Bavaria with the "management" germanic.

But we don't live in Dacia and I would probably not call these early tribes slavic people yet. Here in Czechia, we know pretty much nothing about our slavic history, we have more evidences from Celtic times, that time between like 600-800 is not covered that well by archeologists. Half of things they were teaching in schools before were just panslavist and communist propaganda.
