@@GabrielTravelerVideosHow is it confusing? Cannabis with THC is illegal. So either they are lying about it having THC, or they are selling illegal cannabis. I'm assuming most are just lying since it seems that there is a loophole as long as they write "not for human consumption" in Czech.
@GabrielTravelerVideos

@@StephanosBlack See the other comment above, they bought some at one of the shops and it was the real deal. The buds I saw certainly looked real, doesn't seem like they would be super low THC. One way to find out I guess is give it a try.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Right. So that's why I'm saying that the shops that sell the "CBD Cannabis" may also sometimes have some THC Cannabis that they are selling illegally too. But most of the time they are probably just lying about the Cannabis having THC in it. In Italy, I saw Cannabis shops but they were only selling the CBD kind and were honest about it not having any THC.

I was serving as a soldier at the Prague castle back in the 90's (Prague castel guard) and when I had a duty at night I was walking around the castle totally alone with no turists around at all as the castle close its gates in the evening. It was surreal walking around the old walls at night in winter and hearing the bustling life and music bellow in the city whilst at the castle it was eerily silent.

What an interesting assignment to receive. I assume only the best get selected for the honor of being a castle guard. We watched changing of the guards a couple of times, but yeah, it must be a bit erie being there at night when there’s no one around.

I got mugged walking home late one night in Smichov across the street from the Vltava! Two young skater punks grabbed me from behind then grabbed my bag and ran...Stupidly, I had loud industrial music pounding in my ears, and didn't hear them coming up behind me when I was putting my key in the door... Lesson learned. Other than that, as a woman I have never felt unsafe in Prague. 👍👍👍

Actually, there was some destruction when Prague was mistaken for Dresden by one American bomber plane february 1945, which destroyed some buildings. Also, the Astronomical clock building is half size of what it used to be. There used to be a cathedral attached to it, now there is a park. This building was damaged by mortar fire of Russian troops in May 1945. Overall, and compared to other cities, yes, the damage was not extensive.

We really enjoyed our visit to Strahov Library while in Prague. You do have to book with a trained guide to be allowed to enter and not just look in from the doorway. It’s amazing. Our visit was delayed by a few minutes, as there was a reception being attended by the former First Lady that was just wrapping up. We also discovered an artist colony while walking down towards the river. No tourists at all, lots of art pieces, sculptures, paintings etc. our guide used to live in the area and took us through.

When you say chechya or checcia I remember 2013 when I was also in Prague and the difference between the two countries was a big topic in the media. The Boston marathon terrorist was a chechen. And Obama or his secretary were talking about a czech attacker and the Czech Republic began trending on Twitter as people mixed up the two locations . It made the czech people pretty angry then, which is very understandable. The Czech Republic and Chechnya are two very different entities - the Czech Republic is a Central European country; Chechnya is a part of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus of Eastern Europe, between the Caspian Sea and Black Sea. US citizens are advised not to travel to Chechnya, due to terrorism, kidnapping, and risk of civil unrest

The perfect day trip from Prague is the town of Kutna Hora, with the chapel with human bone interior and the totally amazing St. Barbara's Church in the town centre, even more impressive than the cathedral in Prague, and just exploring the town in general. The town is near Prague, you can get there by bus or train. Take note that the bone chapel is a bit outside the town centre though. Cesky Krumlov and the South Bohemia area in general is amazing, you can also check out the bigger town of Ceske Budejovice (where you sometimes change trains to Cesky Krumlov, if going by train), much less touristy than Cesky Krumlov. I do recommend exploring the Czech Republic with trains even if the trains are a bit slower than the buses, but a more comfortable way to see the landscapes. Also it's cheaper!

Here is a small tip about Scandinavia: In Sweden and Norway, which both does not use the Euro, the nationall currencies have decreased in value by alot to the US dollar in the past few years, much, much more so than the Euro has. Thus Sweden and Norway are for an American much cheaper to visit than they have been before. For 12 years ago, you got 6.50 Swedish krona for 1 US dollar, now you get 10.95. And also for 12 years ago, you got 6 Norwegian krone for 1 US dollar, now you get as much as 11.05! As of today's rates that is. This does however not apply in Denmark as the Danish krone has a fixed exchange rate with the Euro. Sweden unlike Norway world famous for it's fjords and mountains, is an underrated country by world travelers outside the capital Stockholm. There are many other cool places like the west coast city of Gothenburg and also the island of Gotland, the biggest island in the Baltic Sea with it's beautiful and very well preserved medieval capital Visby, widely considered the best preserved medieval town in Northern Europe and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
@Ojstra

As it looks, maybe still in our lifetimes, these Scandinavian countries will be like Mediterranean 20 years ago. :) Or at least countries around the Baltic Sea will be like that - I believe Sopot-Gdynia-Gdansk (PL), Pärnu (EE), Palanga (LT) an Jurmala (LV) are really nice beach places today, too.

@@Ojstra Sweden and Denmark has some really nice beach places in the Baltic Sea too, like the islands of Bornholm (DK), Öland (S) and Gotland (S), the sand on the Danish island of Bornholm is so fine that it used to be in hourglasses, and 2 of these islands, Bornholm and Gotland has really interesting historical places too. Problem is the weather, sad fact is that many days are grey and rainy even if it may be warm, this applies to the entire Baltic Sea area, every summer. I am a Swede and I am going to the beach town of Swinoujscie, Poland for a week in July by the way, hoping for good weather! It's a 6 hours ferry ride south from here.

Prague was a capital of Czechoslovakia, that's correct, however Czechoslovakia was not a communist state for the whole duration. In fact, it was founded in 1918 as a parliamentary democracy and it stayed that way until 1938 when the Munich Dictate was signed. And before that it was the seat of Bohemian kings and even few Holy Roman Emperors until 1611. It was also one of the largest cities in the whole Europe back in the late Middle Age (the largest one north of the Alps and east of the Rhine river).

Prague is a very popular tourist destination. If you want to see something, you have to buy tickets on-line in advance. The other option is to wait in line at the ticket office with no guarantee that tickets will still be available.

Went to Prague for the first time in summer of 2022. Absolute tourist zoo of course, but for good reason. The entire center city is might as well be a giant UNESCO world heritage sight.

Oh, if you go to Norway, you should rent a car and drive the Trollstigen, a mountain pass just like the Transfăgărășan you drove through in Romania, but very, very steep, going through the fjords!! There's a loop road there. Also, drive the Atlanterhavsveien (Atlantic Ocean Road) from north to south, with bridges over the water, where very famous pictures of Norway are taken!! You should also visit Bergen, Ålesund and Trondheim. If you decide to go further north, don't miss Bodø, the Lofoten archipelago and Tromsø, which is way up north!

V Praze si ještě dejte Petřín, rozhledna, malá kopie Eiffelovky, park, hvězdárna, bludiště. Dolu s Petřina do unikátního Strahovského kláštera , vedle je pak Loreta se zvonkohrou atd. Z Prahy krásný výlet do starobylé Kutné Hory, cca 70 km. Na jih asi 50 km do Benešova, kde je významný zámek Konopiště Ferdinanda dEste. Atentát na něj v Sarajevu vedl k 1.světové válce.

@GabrielTraveler is there any airport you try to avoid? We went through Amsterdam last year. It's just too big when changing flights, too many lines between terminals. Lucky we had a long layover between flights.

No tourists when you know where to go, Prague is a big city, there is much more than just "stupid" Charles Bridge and Disneyland around castle and oldtown square. Each district was independent city in the past and has it's own historical center with 0 tourists.
