This knockout is only unbelievable to an extent. Cro Cop always made a habit of moving and circling his lead foot inwards of his orthodox opponents power side as a southpaw, which for him is granted, most of his opponents were smart to stay out of range of the left kick but he circled around Ganzaga 3-4 times before Ganzaga cut short and blasted the right high kick, BANG! it was a technical mishap that Cro Cop was always open to, many just weren’t able to compete with the power and precision on his kicks and punches in MMA. not fighting in a ring always showed Mirko’s imperfections as a MMA fighter though. the octagon wasn’t where his experience laid; it was always a square ring. Cro Cop for most of his UFC career never had any sparring partners to prepare him for an octagon or even a small octagon to train in which just makes it all the more self explanatory why he chose to square up instead of creating distance and bringing it back to the centre octagon against Gonzaga where Cro Cop stood half a chance regardless of the threat for takedowns; that was always a threat for Cro Cop being a striker and especially in this case with his lack of knowledge in understanding how to dig in over/under hooks to create space so he could guide and turn his hips to get his back on the fence when trying to deny takedowns.

The slowest, most uncoordinated, and telegraphed head kick in UFC history used to knockout who many thought was going to be the UFCs most devastating kicker and competitor in UFC history. Adding to the humiliation was the way Crocop crumbled onto his leg, just a sickening sight. Mirko never fully recovered his UFC career from this point even though he defeated Gonzaga in a rematch. In all honesty, he should have just stayed a kickboxer.

I think this fight many people forget about when talking about biggest upsets. It may not be at the top but it has to be top 5. I consider Forrest Griffin submitting Shogun Rua one of the biggest upsets in UFC history as well but very little mention. So many upsets these days it really is hard to rank them. Nunes over Cyborg then Pena over Nunes (that wasn't beaten she gave up). Valentina's upset is coming soon.......don't know by who or when but we won't expect it.
