Check out the Gaggia Evo Boilergate! You should have used the same cup for both shots for the visual assessment!

Personally 1:2.5 ratio is my fav. Smooth and well balanced for milk coffee.

Hi, I have Gaggia Classic too from 2019. It's inconsistent due t having no PID, and it needs constant priming. I might get MiiCoffee Apex soon, and I have a Eureka Mignon Manuale which I love so much. Great video!

Gaggia isn’t bad but it’s just not great unfortunately due to the no PID. I think if you can wire it yourself it’s worth just upgrading it but if not, sell it and buy something better like you stated! Cheers!

@@GuccioSaltarelli Thank, I am autistic and maybe ADHD and I can't multi-task therefore I am looking to simplify the art of espresso making. I like the look of lever machines.

@@1967davidfitness very wild comment tbh but I think if you have a big interest in lever machines you should invest in one and see if it’s for you and if not return it!

All the other reviews on this machine imply that the preinfusion is a bust so you don’t have anything to master there. Basically it’s that the “preinfusion” is just a squirt of water in the beginning that’s 1 second, and the options to choose from on the PID just delay the brew process by that many seconds of your selection on the PID.

Yeah it seems to be a bust unfortunately. I just use manual mode when I use the machine.

Important note! MiiCoffee is aware of the issue and offering a new control board with updated firmware to fix the issue free to owners. I'm not affiliated with MiiCoffee, just getting my apex this week and that was a selling point for me.

The Gaggia shot looked better, at least coming out. It’s hard to tell from watching the vid, but you may be over extracting on the apex. Be cool to see if you weighed the espresso for an apples to apples comparison.

The Gaggia shot was also a bottomless portafilter and looks better in general. But the taste was better on the Apex simply due to the temperature stability (atleast what I assume). I weighed them but didn’t show it and the Apex shot was about 7g more liquid in the same amount of time.

Looks dont matter especially with modern lighter roast espresso, taste is all that matters.

Thanks. Very informative. One question: can you use external smart switch to turn on/off Gaggia can do this by keeping switch on Update we can not do smart switch trick on apex The heating time is quite fast though👍

That’s a really good idea that I will have to try! Great question.

why the coffee liquid from both machines looks so different? More Crema from Gaggia?
@GuccioSaltarelli7 ай бұрын
One thing is the pressure was different. The MiiApex goes between 6-12 bars depending on resistance in the group head to the puck and I noticed I have to grind a little finer for Gaggia and I used the same grind setting so I think the MiiCoffee was a little over extracted.

Are you able to compare the steaming capability?
@GuccioSaltarelli6 ай бұрын
I would like to but I’m not the best at frothing milk so what I can say is the MiiCoffee has a ThermalBlock for the steamer so it takes a little while to get going but it is stronger than the Gaggia

Thanks. Enjoy the coffee.

It interesting that all these KZfaq videos over the past few months have been raving about the Turin, MiiCoffee, Gemilai... that has been around for the past 5 years. So, why now? My guess is that Turin (Espresso Outlets house brand and really the only thing they almost ever have in stock) is trying to capitalize on the recent success of the DF64 grinder. And all these KZfaqr's are, shock, probably bought and paid for.
