Gaia gps! Following old maps, you just never know! (metal detecting)

Sometimes when you follow a map, just like a permission it can be great or be a bust. I located an old home site on a 1900 map from Gaia Gps and to my surprise it was owned by a lady who previously gave me permission for another property. I was able to locate the site of an old barn that had burned down with my minelab equinox 600 metal detector. Sometimes when you follow old maps you just never know! I absolutely wouldn't give up on that place. sometimes I hit a place 3 or 4 times before I hit something real good. Thanks for sharing !

I like it a lot. These days its hard to ask for a permission because of the virus but if your looking for public lands its great.

Be careful mate, last weekend I dug a half reales that rang in 20 - 21 😉 In the Iron the numbers can get a bit screwy!

Thank you, i'll remember that. I do live in Oregon and we don't get coins that old here. I have heard that the Spaniards were here back in the 1600's but that's just what a few guys told me....lol

there is still more ground to cover, i just wasn't having a lot of luck. I thought it may have been hit before. I was going slow in a 300x300 section going from every angle. and not getting many great signals and also switching from field one to field 2. who knows. Thank you for subscribing!

@@DirtBandit I just recently bought the Equinox 800 last week. After watching some of your videos. Great machine, 1st time out with it, I found a 51 Wheatie and a 1937 quarter at a school that I've gone over 100 times before.

thank you for telling me that. Sometimes i just get set on not digging those zincish signals. I HATE digging zinc pennies, lol. but they are usually 20-21.
