No, one’s supposed to be purchasing deforestation-free palm oil. That’s a more reliable means of protecting rainforests as oil palms can be grown on degraded land, and some companies are moving over to that type of sourcing.

Uh, with all due respect, didn’t you guys post this type of film already? I remember watching back in 2018 and found it provoking, but I don’t know if that facilitates reposting it. Oh well, I still think it’s a great video on opening awareness on the issues facing Borneo’s elephants and showing that while humans have caused problems, they can also work to correct them.

To be clear, I don’t mean the reposting is a bad thing; it’s great to spread awareness on this important issue. I just was a bit surprised by the second posting of the video.

We can help by boycotting palm oil and donating to wildlife conservation efforts for threatened or endangered species. And spreading the word to others and demanding sustainable and friendly products from manufacturers

🐞Why aren’t these elephants allowed to be removed to zoos or some type of sanctuary?At least they would have a much better chance of survival. I know zoos aren’t perfect, but it’s better than loosing and entire species. It seems Borneo is focusing too much on progress. Sad.🐞

I guess, we both need to Google it? Because in another comment it said they were working with the Elephants and Coconut Growers but there seems to be a deforestation project going on where the Coconut Farms are part of what looks to be a more modern take on a Sanctuary.
