This one is an Entex standout. I must say, Entex really took it up to the likes of Coleco & Mattel. In fact, I personally think Entex was the winner of the top 3. I am in Australia and I dont recall seeing Entex games back then. I recall Gakken & Mattel more than anything. Galaxian 2 is a great game for its time and holds up well today. I meant to mention to you at the SFGE this past weekend how much I enjoy the videos on the electronic handhelds. I have around 25 LED and VFD games. A few years ago I asked SFGE if I could set up a table to share the history behind these games. They didnt seem interested. Maybe next year with your influence you could speak with them. To me, these early games laid a foundation for much of what kids enjoy today. Keep up the good work!

I remember saving up for Entex Space Invader and going to KB Toys in the mall to pick it up. I was about 10 years old and that $30 took forever to save up. On display was Galaxian 2 and I was blown away by it, but $50 wasn't going to happen. A worker kept pointing out all the features, including the MUTE functions so I could play without disturbing my family (must have been on commission). I bought the Space Invader but that Galaxian 2 was always on my mind. Sometime in the late 90s my sister got one from somewhere and gave it to me. It was new in the box. Today it sits on display next to the Space Invader. btw, your 2nd player should move around just as fast as player 1.

I have never seen one of these, very cool. Most of the ones I played were normally too easy even on the hardest setting meaning they lacked replay value... The only one I found that offered a proper challenge was Astro Blaster by Tomy. Not only were the wall layouts, enemies and fuel random on each of the stages, the harder difficulty would see you running out of fuel. Trying to make every drop of fuel count hoping you would survive was addictive, sure you would die in the end but taking on that challenge was fun! It's the only one that got the better of me and I loved it for it. BTW Konami also released Astro Blaster, it was Silver and I believe it was called Alien Attack. Cheers! 😃

Yeah yeah, we know, kids of today, it may not seem impressive to you with your fancy shmancy Switches and whatnots, but back then we were just as impressed with these kinds of things and didn't mind that that they were like 2 frames per second. For example I played the HECK out of my Mattel Football game back in the day, and I'm not particularly fond of football as a sport!

Yeah, I had one. Then I returned it to TRU because it got boring real fast. Now I want it back just due to nostalgia.

That's funny. This is the game that Duke was playing in the 2005 Doom movie that took place in 2026. Of course, he was holding it the wrong way. 😂 I wonder if that was on purpose.

Far better viewing angles than the lackluster Numskull Quarter Arcades 🤣🤣

Hm. I have limited exposure to Numskull products, but I didn't notice viewing angle problems - maybe because I only ever played straight-on?

The channel is powered by Ray O Vac Batteries. In single player mode, that is a joke. In multiplayer mode, that is a metaphor.
