I also got the Note 9, switched from the iPhone X, and had iPhones since they came out. I was blinded by the iPhone never looking into other phones, thinking the iPhone was the best of the best. Eager each year for a new release. One day, I and my daughter walked into Best Buy and went to the phone section I saw the Note 8, the pen was out with a drawing app open, (I should also add that both my daughter and I like to draw). So needless to say the Note won us over. We waited for the Note 9 early release and we both switched. I have zero regrets, the switch was easy and not so hard to learn, the customization, WOW, the help this phone gives me at work, WOW. My daughter is loving hers as well, she asked me once why we have never switched, I responded, I don't know I thought we had the best. I was like a horse with those blinding things that only let the horse look forward never looking to what other options their might be out there.

Thank you, Saki! I went with the Note 9 because of several things you pointed out. First of all, given the cost, the Note 9 already had a slight advantage but being able to get the DEX station and use this more like a PC won my heart.

Pound for pound the Note 9 is the best smartphone out. The iPhone Max added that large display but didn't do anything with it. Still cant do Split-screen multitasking.

The Note 9 has better cameras , S-pen , Bigger Battery , Better Display , Finger Print sensor , face recognition , Iris scanner , 3.5 mm headphone jack , 6 GB of RAM and u can get 8 GB on the 512 GB version , Cooling system , fast charger out of the box . clearly the Note 9 has lots of things that the iPhone X s or X s max doesn't offer . everything else is pretty much the same on both devices . so clearly , the Note 9 is the better option . and guess what ? the base model of the Note 9 is 100$ dollars cheaper than the X s max and it even has 128 GB storage with expandable storage up to 512 GB compared to the 64 GB u get on the base model of the iPhone X s max . Note 9 is the winner , there is no contest here . But of course Apple Fan boys have a different opinion LOL ! .

Its cost 650$ for 6/128gb note9 right now(at my country). Cant wait for it to arrived next week.

Am I the only one who thinks Samsung back design is really bad?

Since I'm starting college next week I'm glad I got a note 9. The screen off memo was so useful today at student orientation.

Note 9 has better screen(morr ppi), microSD, Pen, a headphone jack, better slomotion camera, infinity display, better battery. Oh it has no notch. And much cheaper! You also get fast charge adapter.

I have both android and iOS devices and they both are fine. It's ok to like one or the other or both. That why there are different manufacturers and different operating systems to meet the needs and wants of the consumers. No need to be hating on someone just because they like a different device than you do. I think saying one is better than the other, it's very subjective.

I have the 512gb Samsung Note 9 and love it. I do have a second phone which is an iPhone but that usually stays put away. The Samsung is my main phone and don't see that changing anytime soon. I do agree that it is the better phone.

Apple is nice! Is just that is the same phone for the past 10 yrs. The problem is the UI That OS has to G0!.. No customizing, no multi tasking,..just apps on top apps, rows & rows icons!🤒

Apple is apple eco system and note 9 is android... no other smartphone has the s-pen capabilities.....so that said it is a personal preference. I personally love the note series always has been the best Samsung phone put out....

Watching on my Note 9 and I love it. Crapple is a no go. No big improvements over the X except for the processor which in day to day you won't notice the difference. The Note 9 added a crazy amount of new features.

I’ve been an Android user my whole life and this year I decided to try an iPhone for the first time..cause why not? And so I did. Got myself the XS and my personal thoughts, I love it, its fast, easy to use, quality feels great, and it’s just a great incredibly smooth and fast phone overall. Not gonna lie though, still miss the freedom to customization (not to mention the headphone jack), but by no means is the XS a bad phone at all...it just doesn’t have all the diversity android has imo then again never really used all the extra stuff android has but it’s better to have and not use than to not have at all..or in this case have “limited”. Still happy with my product but I can probably see myself going back to android soon if apple has nothing else to offer (:

I got the Note9 a week ago and I love it so far. My last phone was a Motorola Z Force and it was a good phone that worked great the 2 yrs I had it. I dropped that phone more than 50+ times and it never cracked. So far the note is wonderful and I love the S-pen.

Android is better than ios but I rather iOS the phone feels more smoother and it has iMessage and FaceTime that’s the only thing I love about it. I’m about to buy the Samsung galaxy 11 when it comes out.

Look I get it why people invested in the Apple ecosystem might want to use an iPhone...I have an iPad myself and i know gaming i great...but if you're on the fence and not entrenched in the Apple framework the Note 9 is better...way better. What I can't stand is their stinginess with fast charger and now no dongle. Frankly if you have a X stick with the X at least till they get rid of that notch. The extra money you will dish out is not worth it. Great video.

It is a no brainer that Note9 beats XS (Max) all day long. I've been a Note lover for many years. But this Note9 on my hand now is just mind blowing. Sakitech your honest review is great to hear.

You do know you can put Note 9 in Cinema mode right? Or Basic or Photo if you don't like the saturation on the display.

Apple screwed up this release with their pricing. 1400 is insane. I just switched from the 7 plus to the note 9. I like it but the ads from Samsung wanting me to buy watches are pissing me off. Very annoying

Great review, although the gaming part and app store quality perplexes me, both stores offer nearly the same apps nowadays in 2018, had that comment been made a few years ago I would agree but you didnt consider the other part of gaming the android would do that would benefit gamers is better cooling on the Note9 and the fact that you can play a demanding game on your Note 9 AND have a youtube video running on the same screen at the same time, something iPhone cant do.

I love how some people seem to think the intense saturation on the Note 9 is a bad thing, but all I hear when out taking photos is "wow, look at the colours pop!" and "That phone takes pictures that are better than real life!" Yes, it does. And it displays them better too.

Just switched from the Note 8 to the iPhone XS Max. I love different things about both, and have had each in the series of Notes and iPhones over the years (among other phones). The one thing that I have to say about the iPhone is that the features seem to work more consistently. For example, on my Note 8, there were features in the camera app that would just never work. The face recognition on the Note 8 struggled a bit too. I just don't have those kinds of everyday usage issues with my iPhone XS Max. Face ID on iPhone is almost flawless. Lastly, I'm not buying the battery comparison results. If I didn't turn my Note 8 to power saving mode, the performance was predictable.

I switched from iPhone 3 Samsung infuse many years ago. I stayed with Note series until iPhone XS Max came out. Samsung came out with beautiful display and many features. But I decided to go back to iPhone last years. for three reasons. I was paying more and more money for features that I never used. Edge menu was a great idea. But I never used it. It just drained the battery. This is one of many features that I didn't use. The Android update was killing me. One thing that kept me with Samsung was the custom ROM until Samsung put a stop to it. They have terrible update system. The last straw was the battery. It got to a point that my note 8 couldn't even last more than 5hours. Today, my iPhone XS MAX is serving me well.

U did many mistakes 1st -note 9 supports QHD rendering on media consuption bcz of its 1440p QHD display whereas ipxsmax just render media at FHD 1080p..which is where samsung leads also samsungs display quality is far better than ipxsmax ..max feels pretty dull and less bright.. 2nd - wireless charging..u missed a point that note 9 support fast wireless charging..whereas ipxsmax just support normal wireless charging... U missed liquid cooling on note 9 but thats okkk..and alsoo.apple app ecosystem isnt that big deal just bcz it has better apps but ..technically it lacks huge number of apps like notch hider. Or any any app like..launchers..themes..whatever u through in playstore u will find an app for it but apple store is bery very limited with apps so i will still prefer playstore over apple store..bcz..not very nicely placed apps but atleast u have apps for any of ur need which isnt the case for apple store 3rd point..except for USA nearly in evryother country note 9 is far cheaper than xsmax the pricing u said just stand for USA but i eill tell u in india note 9 costs $929 but xsmax costs $2000. Neatly same case in europe note 9 costs €899 and ipxsmax costs about €1100 maybe or even higher..idk..soo note 9 is clear clear win.. But wanna add one point that ip68rating on xsmax is pretty better than note9 but still its just nearly same no point to consider this

Great comparison video... The best I have seen to date from any youtuber. Complete and not biased, all the test were great and what you can use in the future is like a 5 point attribute overview to show where each phones are.

I have the XS Max and it works for me. I don’t dislike the Note9. I think it’s a great phone too.....but I would never bash anyone for buying something different than what I like

I don't think the iPhone's 3D Touch compares to the Edge Panel on the Note 9. The iPhone has nothing like it and it is convenient as hell. Especially since you can call it up on the lock screen. What the Note 9 does have in relation to 3D Touch is long pressing on an icon. You basically get the same results as 3D Touch. I've been using the Note line of phones for a really long time and I also have an iPhone 7s and an iPad Pro. I have to disagree that the iOS app store is a better choice. When it comes to tablets yes, the App Store is the better choice. For phone apps though? No, Android had closed that gap.

Saki, The quality of apps being better on the App Store as opposed to the Play Store is blown out of proportion. All the major apps look equally good and run equally well on Android.

Note 9 is a beast. If you take it side by side with the iPhone you can easily tell the Note 9 display and camera is far ahead of the iPhone. There's also Dolby Atmos which is a killer feature in Note 9 for watching videos on your device without using headphones.

great, unbiased comparison! Can agree with almost everything. But i think overall for the camera the Note 9 wins. Rear camera is equal, the note 9 takes photos that are more pleasing to the eye, the Max takes photos with greater color accuracy. The difference is in the front camera... The note 9 wins there. In the end it comes down to personal preferance, there is no "better" phone. Choose the phone that suits *you* best. iPhone X user here...
