Galaxy Photon was my first actual deck that I built myself in master duel back when I had no idea what I was doing. I completely slept on the "new" support that came in the meantime. However, my love for this deck has been rekindled! Whether you're going first OR second does NOT matter. It has a decent negate board going first and an absolutely massive and easy to pull of OTK with quite a bit of bait for your opponents negates!
!!BTW if you CAN definitely get a second copy "Galaxy-Eyes Solflare Dragon" for a follow-up OTK if you went first!!!

I felt the same! I've had a galaxy photon deck previously, never really got to anywhere with it & scrapped it unfortunately. Realised how to play it eventually, crafted it back together and here we go baby :D

It needs a better all protection monster xyz idk why Komai makes one comma mistake and it changes the card rules a bit different from what it should be😭

8:06 I feel like this branded player was very much a click button go brrrr type, since they should have both kept their lubellion instead of banishing it, and should have super polymerizationed your board for mudragon of the swamps.

Yup, i completely agree :D and i absolutely despise super poly. If I had any say in it it would definitely be banned. Just my opinion tho. Discarding 1 card for cost to wipe your opponents most important monsters AND it cannot be responded to AND it's a quick play, which means its good on turn 1 AND 2. Sorry for ranting xD

Very first duel, you should've summoned vanisher and discarded galaxy eyes. That way when you link you can keep either the galaxy photon dragon or the cipher x

I know the video is old but I wanted to write this since it stood out to me, it might end up being a pretty long comment though. On game 3, against the infernobles player, I think there was a better line with your hand. Everything is the same up until you detached jumper to activate gpd effect. Get emperor with gpd and trance with jumper Discard emperor to summon galaxy soldier, summon emperor back, get afterglow with soldier and make soldier lvl 8 with gpd Summon n90 with soldier (now lvl 8) and emperor Use trance on jumper and summon galaxy summoner, link them off to solflare and get summoner back Normal summoner and summon jumper, go into starliege photon blast dragon and use its effect to summon gepd Summon afterglow from your hand and go into n38 with gepd That way you end on basically the same board you had except you have both gpd and photon blast which have good synergy together making it so photon blast protects everyone, including himself, it also means whenever you discard gepd to activate solflare's effect you can get gepd back on the field and if you detach jumper to activate that effect you get a card from there as well. The only downside is not ending on galaxy hundred so you can't disrupt their extra deck, but with that board there's not a lot they can do to you anyway

@@HeyIamPaddy Yeah I don't think it's necessarily strictly better since galaxy hundred by itself can win you games against people who only have 1 or 2 copies of their super important extra deck plays, but I've been testing a lot of lines with the galaxy eyes deck and whenever I see jumper + vanisher + orbital in the opening hand I get a neuron activation lol. Really cool video regardless and love the decklist!

0:29 why not special summon vanisher to search for Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon, then discard that off soldier?

20:43 no photon sanctuary? Also, if you do run stuff that does more light locking, replacing bagooska and dugares with cydra nova and infinity is what I do. Might not be the best choice, but it’s an option

10:40 why do you keep going through galaxy cipher X? I get that it grants targeting protection, but it feels like, given the only turn 1 targeting protection you’d be really worried about is Imperm, and that lots of negates don’t target, I just don’t understand what value it gives you

It's actually not about the effect it's all about getting 1 more body on the field, which I use for Solflare AND detaching afterglow to trigger its effect to special summon another lvl 8 on the board.

In my head I guess I always think using afterglow should generally be restricted to when it’s absolutely necessary or going for the OTK, since I usually only run two, and since it’s effect only lets you summon Galaxy eyes photon dragon from deck, it can be a little risky to extend too much with it. Though I should probably consider running it in my irl TCG build

I tried running 2 copies of photon dragon but ran into the same problem too often, afterglow can only summon from deck :/

@@HeyIamPaddy yeah, it sucks he’s like crucial to the deck, but you only ever really want him in grave, in hand for discard fodder, or in deck. And which you want depends entirely on your hand

Going first it's aiming for at least 3 interruptions (1 spell negate, 1 monster effect negate and sometimes 1 special summon destruction) + some other things like searching for your follow up turn & going second it's aiming for the C62 easy OTK, both going first and second heavily rely on XYZ summoning.

@@HeyIamPaddy Sorry to do this to you, It will be kinda long but lezgo 😅 Best case scenario you start with galaxy soldier, photon jumper and galaxy hundred (foolish burial is the same as hundred so its fine). First you play reinforcement to get Photon jumper to your hand, next use effect of soldier and send jumper to graveyard. Use effect of jumper to add galaxy trance and the effect of soldier to add galaxy wizard. Play foolish burial and send Photon Emperor to the graveyard from your deck. Use the effect of Emperor to special summon him to the field ( you can normal summon one more time this turn). Now Normal summon the galaxy wizard and use its effect to add Galaxy summoner to your hand. Normal summon galaxy summoner and use its effect to special summon galaxy wizard from the graveyard. Use galaxy wizards effect to add galaxy expedition to your hand (effect of galaxy wizard is not once per turn). Here you play Galaxy expedition to special summon afterglowdragon. Use the effect of galaxy summoner to make afterglow lvl 4 and summon your Galaxy photon dragon. Use effect of Galaxy photon dragon by detaching afterglow and add photon vanisher to your hand. Here the effect of afterglow resolves and you should special summon Galaxy eyes photon dragon (GEPD) from your deck. Now link summon the GEPD and galaxy soldier to summon solflare dragon. Use effect of solflare dragon to add afterglow dragon from your graveyard to your hand. Next use the effect of vanisher to special summon him and add a GEPD to your hand. Also use the effect of Galaxy Photon Dragon to make Vanisher a lvl 8 Monster. If you start first, here you should summon either the nr.38 or nr.90 (I go for nr 38 most of the time) with vanisher and emperor. If you are second summon your Galaxy Eyes Cipher Dragon and do your galaxy eyes full armor photon dragon into cipher blade dragon combo. Here the first part of the combo finishes. Most opponents use their hand traps here and try to negate the effect of cipher blade because they think your combo is finished already and you got your end board, but that is exactly what you want. Let them use their hand traps on cipher, the next part makes you win games as secondary! Next use the galaxy trance and target photon jumper plus an other galaxy wizard in your deck and special summon them. Use these lvl 4 monsters to special summon starliege photon blast dragon. Use effect: special summon the GEPD from your hand. Also use effect of Afterglow to special summon to your field from hand. If you are first, summon either nr.38 or nr.90 with afterglow and GEPD, if you are second use the same cards and summon nr. 62 to OTK your opponent by detaching Afterglow. You can always OTK if you attack a monster with 3200ATK or lower even tho you can´t fully use the effect of Afterglow because you cant summon GEPD from your deck anymore. Bro I legit had nothing to do, sorry for this long ass text. This is a three card combo which makes you win almost every time if you get it🥰
