I have the tab s8 plus and coming from an iPad the differences are night and day with multitasking. The s8 plus is incredible and Apple I’m sure deliberately does everything they can to stifle true windows and multitasking to avoid losing sales from their MacBook line. The stage manager update for example seems a way to “almost” solve the window problem but not all the way. Apple could make iOS great but they clearly don’t want to whereas Samsung is innovating all the time.

Thank you for explaining this, Sak, it made my day!! The ability to extract text from pictures is a game changer as a student. I always screen shot and selectively highlight each page of my digital textbooks when studying. Now I can also extract text from those screen shots as I see fit, and drop the text into Samsung notes! I tested this and entire pages of text are copied accurately!

I’m an iPhone user and planned to get the iPad Pro, but after my research, opted for the Galaxy Tab S8 plus. Great feature rich and display. When compared to iPad m2 pro size for size, much cheaper with more versatility. M2 powerful processor good for developers, but don’t need for typical use. I love your reviews Saki, and get a kick out of your “boom” app open gestures! Great job!

Hello, i have a strange problem related to sound feedback of pen in notes and in screen off memo. After fresh install of android 13, the spen is making sound like pen on paper in notes app and in screen off memo, but after a wile the spen is mute in screen off memo and notes app. Its working with write sound only in writing on screenshot and thats it. If i reset tablet to default, the sound of writing on paper is back in screen off memo and notes, but after 10 min is mute again. Maybe it has something to do with updating apps on google play?

Why won't screen stay LOCKED , when turning on its starts in upright position then when googling ,apps it then turns why not start up in long wise because its locked . Also if youtubing their a split , top showing youtube then other 1/2 is the rest of the youtubes vides, even if you expand the top youtube window. Some updates screw things up changing locations especially in settings and rename some things ;-( . Then when you were use to go to going one place , theyve changes names ,locations, I realize you have the choice to update or NOT to prevent but then us out on certain other udates ;-( Thanks for all your Videos

The Tab S Line Finally Got Good With S6, S7 & S7+ got better, with all the Ram & Ram Management System, The S8 Ultra is The Best! HANDS DOWN, I DONT SEE ANY OTHER COMPANIES OUT THERE PUTTING 12 GB OF RAM LET ALONE 16GB OF RAM on any Tablets & THEY'RE STILL AFFORDABLE! $1000.00 IS ALOT BUT NOT WHAT YOUR GETTING FOR IT!

I would agree with one BIG caveat. Without universal file drag and drop it really hurts the Tab S8 in terms of feeling like an ipad killer. Dex is great, and it would be better if the files drag and drop universally available across the OS was thing. iPad has done this for a long time now and the iPads Slideover drawer is a better way of managing popup apps than the Tab S8's current split of an edge panel and then minimizing popup apps into floating icons on screen. its just not as practical as iPad's slide over dock workflow. Dex Mode without the ability to drag and drop files is a really bad "Desktop" experience.

An android tablet will never kill an iPad.. android sucks. Only thing an android tablet is good for is for kids and for gaming. That’s it. I’d buy this for a gaming tablet or for my kids but not for anything else

Key things missing are Files Drag and drop across the entire OS. iPad does this...we need this on the Tab S series. Then if they really want to make the ipad obsolete they need to make the popup apps work better in tablet mode when minimized like iPad has with their slide over. We can hide them off to the side instead of just minimized into little logos. The tuck/hide is far better than the minimize to log which is still in the way on screen. This is basically a poor use of the edge panel. As long as they minimize to edge panel that would even be fine...not ideal...but better than current standard. Ideally, popup widget would also allow popup apps to be docked on a page. That would be excellent. BUT at a minimum we need drag and drop of files to be universal on the OS or it isnt a real desktop replacement device.

@@tstarf nope I had Samsung note 2, 3, 4 and was going to get the 7 until it was recalled. I’ve still got a Samsung tab 3 and the little one (can’t remember which that is). I went to iOS when my note 4 was updated but my Samsung gear s smart watch wasn’t so it no longer synced to it. After that I’d had enough. I have better things to do than bashing tabs online lol It was just this particular comment that reminded me why I originally switched. I’ve got the same old Apple Watch 4 that is years old and is still being updated.
