Galaxy Z Flip 3 & 4: Screen Won't Turn On? Black Screen? FIXED!

I show you how to to fix a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 phone (same for Z Flip 4) that has a black screen but you know the phone is on. In other words your screen just won't turn on but you can feel your phone ring, vibrate, maybe the cover windows is visible, etc. If this worked plz LIKE and comment which step worked for you. It's literally the sensors that detect the open and close, I can leave my phone open and never have a problem but as soon as I close it and open again it's just black, if I wiggle the phone at the crease it usually works but what's the point of having a folding phone if you can't use it!

This is not working for me and when I sent it to Samsung, they said I needed to replace the LED light. They said it was because I dropped it and I never dropped it and they wanted 300 to fix it. Could you assist please?

Soooo Samsung told me it would cost close to $100 to fix my Galaxy Flip (first generation). After smacking it, while closed, a few times I fixed it for free!! Thank you so much for saving me $100 I did not have to spend on something like this

I read that it's supposed caused by the placement of the sensor that tells the phone it's open. Supposedly it's locates under the crease and it can lead to the phone thinking it's closed so the screen will go off yet you can still interact with it. Whether the flip 5 and flip 6 have the sensor in the same spot I can't say. Though I have the flip 3 and went to the fold 4 and currently have the fold 5. My flip 3 I only keep since it's the thom browne edition but it wasn't U would have traded it in

I just had this issue with my flip 3, I tried all of these methods, and sadly they didn't seem to work. But I left the phone at full charge in my car which sat in there for 24h under -5°c. Brought it inside and hit the power button twice and it turned on just fine. I've also found that if you just don't fold it, it helps with the issue.

It's crazy having to "massage" a $1,000 phone just to get the screen working. Obviously it's a faulty design with bad connectors which should never be happening. smh

Don't normally comment on videos but have to say my screen was black for 2 days. Tried everything multiple times except the freezer. 7mins in the freezer fixed it! Shame I've already got a new phone in that time but at least I can restore my things. Thank you

I’ve only had mine for 3 weeks and it went black on me tonight, I’m taking it back to Verizon tomorrow, I was able to restart it using your first method, thanks a lot. I’m not doing all of that smacking and banging on my phone in order for it to be serviceable. I may have to consider returning it if they can’t tell me why this happened all of a sudden and i haven’t dropped or damaged this phone in any type of way. Again thank you very much

The tapping method worked for me. It was switching the display off when I was opening the phone completely and now it seems to be working fine after the tapping. Samsung support suggested me to buy a new one. You just saved me $900. Thanks! :-)

my cover screen keeps going dark and if i press hard on it, it goes back to normal but if i close the phone it messes it up again and i have to smack it again. any permanent fix or do i send for a replacement?

Had mine for a month, woke up and the phone wouldn't open after unfolding it, when it did it had white lines and would give me a black screen. I hope the 1st method works. Nice to see your still making these videos for the new Samsungs🤙

Update on my comment* got the phone fixed through warranty. So I sold the phone and let someone else deal with it. First and last time I get one lol I'll wait till apple release a flip phone

Oh, wow! I have a Z Fold 3 and lost my front screen. I watched a couple of vids then ran across this one. Holding the power and volume buttons down for 15 seconds, and then switching to the up volume while still holding the power button until the built in diagnostic window options opened up, did the trick. I deleted the Partition Cache as you suggested after running the display diagnostic option which failed with an 'Error'. I didn't think it worked until I folded the phone while on a call, and voilà, up came the screen! Thank you so much! Save me a run to U Break We Fix.

Had my Samsung Flip for just about 6 months now. Screen went black and no touch... No insurance, Yeah!Tried your technique over & over.. I rubbed it, tapped it, slapped it with no luck! Put it in the freezer.. RIP Z Flip! So sad as I have always been a Samsung fan.. P.S. If you are a T-Mobile subscriber in CA, do not tap the power button many times (as suggested in this vid) as it will call 911 automatically & if you can't see or touch the screen to respond, the police show up at your door! Then you have to explain what occurred listed above.....

Hi there, my phone turns black screen each time I unflip it, but after like couple of attempts it starts working like normal. However when I flip it to close and then unflip it the same issue occurs. Recently on 5th Aug'24, I got software update. I tried all you methods but the issue is still there. If I keep my phone unflipped and use it normally locking and tapping, it responds perfectly.

I followed your steps and it is doing better except after holding the buttons down the Samsung logo would only come on when the flip is closed. I will keep trying. It tells me when closed to open to unlock, but I cannot do that on a black screen. Thanks so much for your help.

It worked for but every time I close the flap and back screen comes up when I open the app the back screen stays on so the front display remains black. I have to press down next to the camera lense to get the back screen to switch to the front display. Is there any permanent way to fix this?

The one I have is completely black , it was fully charged, wasn't dropped or messed with. When I put in the charger it makes no noise, however, when I use a reverse charge to charge it, my other phone does show that the phone is charging. Reset buttons don't work

I've had mine since release and until 2 days ago it worked perfectly fine, and i think the issue occured when i dropped mine and it hit my floor and sounded like it broke but nothing happened, occasionally it will open and then black screen but it's not too common for me

What worked for me was clicking the power button in and out a bunch of times. But I'm keeping your video so I can clear cache later. Why did Samsung take that capability out of the settings? Also, how did you learn how to clear cache on these phones? I always carry a second phone (work phone, but will buy one after I retire next year), which saved me today since I had to send some texts and so I used my backup phone until I got my Samsung fixed. Thanks!

So literally freezing my phone seems to have worked (for now). I noticed once I took it out a lot of condensation formed around the edges. I prompty dried the moisture off with a cloth. I'm no scientist but I'm curious if moisture trapped inside the phone was causing this.

Hey I'm having issues not being able to answer calls from the cover screen. It only gives me the option to open the phone to answer. I turned off the features to answer when opened and end call when closed, and still nothing. I soft resetted the phone and nothing. Cleared cache and nothing. Please help someone.

Help! I tried everything but the phone would not boot at all. No boot sounds, no charging sound, nothing. Im charging it with the original Note 10 plus charger, it gets warm (not hot). never dropped mine nor mishandled it in any way. Its almost a year now that i've used it without any glitches. but suddenly, it went off, and has not come back on for 20 hours now 😭

sent it back to the shop i bought it. its only been 7 months with me, and its still covered under the store's 24 month warranty. will not buy a foldable again unless it has matured in about 6 generations in.

I'm fairly confident my zfold3 is dead so my choice will be either another 13pmx 1tb (in sierra blue) to compliment my 13pmx 1tb black (coz...ios being dependable and whatnot), or an s22ultra (at least 512gb) so I can move my backed up data from my dead zfold3 512gb. (just for variety) Tbh, in leaning towards an iphone now... coz for a zfold3 that costs an arm and a leg, it shouldn't just go "tits-up" after 7 months of babying the damn thing. Some people depend on such devices to work flawlessly for company domain access authentication, emails, calls, some urgent on the fly office docs editing, scheduling tasks and meetings and such... I was terrified for a day without the damn thing (on the busiest day of the week...that's Sunday in this region) just up and died for no reason. I've luckily migrated most of my shit on my ip13pmx and am confident coz I haven't experienced any unfortunate incidents since my XsMax days.

I had this on my phone this week I think it was the heat was in the 100s. I did do all the steps about to freeze it since that was in another video. The screen stayed black. But at the last step before the freezer I did get a white line!! I might actually be able to trade it into att so might do that!!

My screen freeze and when i touch on any screen part it doesn't detect. After that i close the flip and open it again and it only show "samsung galaxy" with black screen. mine only cuts out when i open the phone fully ,if i close the phone and open it halfway it works but if i open all the way it cuts out .sometimes i can lock the screen and unlock while open and it comes back

For me this did not worked. But i dont have the same issue. My flip3 do not recognize touches. The scree works fine, showing everything, no lines or black blobs. I can use the phone with a mouse and otg cable. The phone is in good shape, wasnt dropped, not smashed. I tried safe mode and restarting it, factory reset, software update, nothing worked. Have any tips for me? I am thinking the screen digitizer cable got loose.

Can anyone help me I don't seem to be getting signal on the phone after fixing the screen issue. I think it's an antenna issue as I get a weak 1 bar signal at my sisters house but no signal at my house. Any advice?

My issue is sometimes when i open the phone its black, i hear the unlock sound though. Have to lock it then unlock again before it turns on

Unfortunately mine was not able to recover , i tried to test watee for just 2mins it is working fine after that but suddenly front screen stop working when im doing thr button down power thebphone will vibrate only and the back screen is the only one where the samsung logo will comeup

I had a bit of screen showing now after following these instructions I have no display showing, completely Black so now can't see anything..dropped my phone and trying to unlock pin so I can get photos off so I can't send it for repair as have insurance. But I know they will factory reset my phone before they repair or replace phone 😢

So, the black screen seems to have come back on for part of the screen, but now there's large blobs of black across the screen. Any idea how to fix this?

Actually you know what? Closing the phone and massaging the cover that has the screen seemed to have popped it back into place for the most part

My new Samsung Flip 3 cover screen went black and I couldn't get it back, but main screen was ok. I followed first method and now the cover screen is back. Thanks!

@@WorldofTech Phone was fully charged, maybe I touched some button? But strange, it happened after I used the flashlight feature. Still learning the phone, just got it yesterday. Anyway things are back to normal.
