As a note user, would you switch to the Galaxy Z Fold 3?

The day the s-pen is built inside of the foldable phone is when I will get it

The thing with the S-Pen is that Samsung listens to all these reviewers like The Verge and Engadget who will NEVER like their products... When they say" the S-pen is too small to be functional you can't do anything with it".... because they love the apple pencil... until apple has a product like it then they would love it😡

Great video. N20U user here waiting on my carrier to get my pre-order in. Using that time to wait and see what others say about it. A lot of the points you touch on are right on the money and alleviate some of my concerns specifically the camera and battery life. I think I will stick to my plan and get the Fold and go from there!

Thank you for your comprehensive review. I bought the Note 20 Ultra 5G a year ago and really enjoyed it (previously used primarily iPhones). I've been wanting to get the Z Fold 3, but I'm still on the fence. After watching your video, I am definitely leaning more towards the Z Fold 3 than before.

The S-pen is why I love the Note line. While the Fold 3 (sort of) allows use of the pen (need to add external screen support for quick notes) the lack of internal storage is a deal breaker for me. Magnetically clipped to the side isn't any better, it would never stay there when being moved into & out of your pocket or when in a belt clip. My Tab S7+'s S-pen is only stored on the side when I'm using it. When I'm on the move it goes on the back, under the case's bump so it doesn't get lost. Internal storage is the best solution for ease-of-access and secure transportation.

Nice review!!! The only way I could afford the z fold 3 is to trade in my note 20 ultra because I don't do payment plans on phones. I was like nah because of the camera but I ordered it anyway. Now seeing your camera comparison I can sleep a little better. Can't wait to get my hands on it. This will be my first fold

Ight…so first things first. These always come down to preference but in this case, the note 20 ultra is better for the camera enthusiast, has expandable storage which mind you, was used an overused joke towards Apple but now... they dropped that again. Didn’t work for the note 5, don’t know why they trying this trash again. Unless they’re literally forcing to buy into cloud shortage which just equals less privacy and an easier chance to lose your photos in my opinion. The s pen has more features with the note and is in house. If you don’t mind paying extra for an oversized s pen then do you. It’s lighter as well. The Fold has a better chipset, bigger screens, 120hz for all screens, and possibly better battery which I doubt due to the 120hz refresh rate being on both panels. Also yes, multi tasking is great as well. Those are not justifiable reasons for me to switch. No expandable memory, possibly bigger drain on the battery, worse cameras, certain apps are still not optimized for the fold fully, screen is still vulnerable in comparison to the gorilla glass victus on the note. S pen sold separately…..fack outta here! I would wait until the 4. I just got the note 20 ultra because I was in need of 5G and wanted a smoother refresh rate and slightly better camera then my note 10+. Note 20 ultra is amazing. As a note user for over 5 years and someone who used the s pen for every model…I don’t know what the hell these people are talking about when they say this is a note killer…how much draino do you ingest?

I have a note 10 plus, and I think I'll be sticking with it for a while. I would love to try it, but it doesn't have dust resistance. I work in a dusty place and I'll need that forsure.

Good review, lots of facts, best comparison I've seen, some good reasons to change, the dual screen display on the Fold would be ideal for me, but not 100% sure it's worth the extra cost. The battery life might improve with the next Note... if.

Great comparison. I'm a Note20U user and the 1 thing that always gets me, 120hz 1080p or 1440p 60hz. The fact that I cannot do 120hz 1440p always always urks me. I'm leaning towards the Fold 3. May get one in the coming weeks.

Great review and exactly the comparison I was wanting to see. I'm on the Note10+ and was strongly considering jumping to the Fold, but the SPen is an important component to me and once you put the case on that holds the pen, it's just too damn big. Add in the weaker battery life, crease on the display, no dust resistance, and higher cost and it's just not appealing enough just to get that bigger internal display.

I think the Z fold line and Note line are targeting to difference auidences. I personally it would be nice to combine the note line and fold line together if the housing slot S-Pen in the Fold, and the screen material is more robust and dust proof. But now I just only see the advantange of the big screen and foldable screen technology on the fold line.

Great video and comparison. It seems like the note 20 ultra is more "note" with the spen air command features, bluetooth features, and ability to store s pen. And I've read and seen several videos saying that the Spen Fold case is not that great. At least it detaches and who knows maybe more cases will come out I'm not that worried about it. For me personally I loved the note 7..but we all know how that went. Was my first note phone and I got the note 9 but it was so bland and such a disappointment it drove me away from samsung for a while. In terms of Spen i've had my Tab S6 Lite for about a year and I love it. I first went crazy over the spen air command and drawing and sketching and pen up. But then it became more of a media tablet. Used it to browse the web, play games (with touchpen) or streaming games or reading and dex helped a lot too. I was going to get the fold 2 last year but decided to wait for an Spen version. I already pre-ordered the fold 3 and am not worried about missing the spen air command features. MY biggest worry is how is writing, tapping, drawing lines, strokes or even heavy pen action on the screen going to be especially with the gap. I might get the Spen Pro at some point unfortunately it wasn't available for pre-order gifts...but it is now for some reason. I also have a surface pro reason why I don't use my tab s6 lite as much anymore and there is something so magical and comfortable about samsung spen I like it better than my surface pen even though I use my surface pro every day and all the time and more than the my tab s6 lite. The Fold 3 will likely replace the Tab S6 lite but i'll see.

I just got my zfold 2 today upgrade from s20 ultra man loving watching this KZfaq video on the bigger screen won't go back to regular phones in the future 👍🏻 hopefully samsung keeps changing the game with foldable devices

I think personally I'm going to keep my Note 20 Ultra instead of trading it in for Fold 3. I like tucking away the s pen in the phone instead of a case, because then I'm stuck with that case 😆. Also samsung pay! Finally the micro SD card slot. At the moment I'm still needing that thing for traveling and whatnot. Great video boss!

I agree with the case, it also makes it difficult to take a selfie with the back camera because it blocks the front screen, a wider front screen will be very good and the pro pencil is too long which I am not sure it will fit in the Case.

I came here to change my mind but i think I ll wait for Note21 or Fold4. I love Note20Ultra size, durability, water resistance (i make videos underwater and i drop it into bath very often). I just dont trust this soft foldable screen. Pen seems to be more powerful and agile on N20U too. Gotta wait.

I made the move to z fold 3 but with hopes that next year they finally make the cover screen note 20 ultra size and finally give us an official note worthy replacement. If they're committed to canceling the note series then samsung needs to deliver the best similar to that mate x2

Going from S20 ultra to z fold 3. Liked the Fold and fold 2 but was a lil concerned with durability thats why i didnt get one. But the Z fold 3 looks dope.

This is a great review. But I'd disagree on some points, for an year newer and priced at 2k the camera's are a huge let down for what you're paying for. I have both and I was actually excited for the fold 3 wanted something different and have always thought they should bring the pen to the fold but with that annoying case it's really a pain to hold. It's too slim and the flap doesn't stick making it easy to drop. The batteries on both devices are bad I'd still say my note gets more screen on time. Idk about others but I don't play games but I did use the big screen with lots of youtube and social media at least 2 hours of big screen I got ~4hrs of screen on time vs an average of 5 on note. If you're a gamer this might be a great choice or don't care for the camera/sd card. I'm just one of those people who can't justify spending 2k and downgrading. They should have at least put camera's that were on par.

Note user here I picked up the fold. Love it so far but something I noticed you kept mentioning is you'd enjoy to see the cover screen get larger. I don't think that'd be as good as you imagine unless they can get these phones whilst folded to be as thin as the current flagships out there due to those occasions where you would need to utilize the phone one handed. (Especially for users with moderate to small hands)

Forgot to mention no micro SD memory expansion on the Z Fold 3, but the Note 20 ultra does have it. Why would they not have that on a huge flagship tablet-phone?

I just purchased the Note 20 Ultra. I wanted a phone that holds the s pen and has a sd card slot although you can store things on the cloud.

I got the s pen and case free with my Fold 3. Really hope Samsung bring out an Ultra edition of the Fold 4 with s series camera and built-in s pen.

What you didn't mention was the periscope zoom . I like taking moon shots and Note 20 ultra is excellent at it. That's a no go with the fold. I'll hang tight and hopely samsung will have the 200mp camera on the Notw 22 ultra and maybe even a sliding screen 🙏

Definitely would keep my note 20 ultra. Atleast for another 2 generation of the zfold. Can't compromise on a brand new zfold model still not outclassing last years note model. 🤷‍♂️

You can also game and watch videos at the same time on LG G8 Dual screen. I find having two separate screens actually is better. I could put my LG game controller pad on one screen and then fold the other screen till I get a good angle. And play.

Samsung could have rebranded the S Ultra line to Note line since the Ultra line is trying sooo hard to be a Note device by adopting an S-pen. Samsung can launch S, S+, and Note on the first half of the year. Then the Z flip and Z Fold during the second half of the year. Take note that Z Fold CAN have an S-pen and S-pen Pro. So, they can still have a diverse line of Galaxy devices.

I ordered the S21 Ultra for only 420 bucks. Seem like a pretty good deal might get the fold 4 next year and trade my phone in for more than what I bought it for lol. Just need that little bit more of fine-tuning

I have both a large iPhone Max, and a Zfold2. I can tell you there’s no substituting a Zfold 2 as a one handed walking around device (candy bar form factor is great). It’s amazing, very comfortable to hold - and then you cannot beat the added real estate of the inner fold display. The only thing preventing me from using it as my daily was iMessage… but I finally setup airmessage and I switched to my daily. I am trading my Zfold2 for a Zfold3, it’ll be here this week. The reason that case “flaps” is because they’re trying to unobstructed the front screen as much as possible - I suggest no case on this phone, get insurance.

I was interested in the Z Fold 3, but after seeing the price of almost $1,000 with my trade-in and learning that the s-pen was sold separately, I felt I was getting ripped off. Waterproof means nothing to me since I don't go swimming and no phone I've ever heard of has been damaged by the rain, so I upgraded to the Note 20 Ultra for half that price and am entirely satisfied with my purchase. It looks absolutely beautiful, runs smoothly, has an amazing camera and excellent sound. My coworker bought the Z Fold 3 around the same time I bought my Note 20 Ultra, and he told me he's satisfied with his purchase as well. I have no regrets with my purchase and he doesn't with his, so I would just say do research and know what you're looking for in a phone before buying. Everyone has different preferences, so even though the Z Fold 3 wasn't for me, it will be the perfect phone for someone else.

I have both of these although I will be selling one. I think it is incredibly hard to compare these 2 devices! The note is a mobile device that is good at being a phone that consumes media. The fold 3 is a dedicated media device that is good at being a phone.

Great video. I'm not totally taken on the front screen. Yes it's a bit to narrow for me. But I have absolutely no doubts if Samsung widened it, it would get a ton of hate from the same people whining that it's to narrow to it being to wide and to big and bulky and should be a tablet not a phone. I have no doubts it would be the same people complaining. I personally would love it to be a few millimetres wider. But then ask yourself this. If you want to use the from screen all the time do buy tye s21 ultra!! This is a foldable phone. It's the inner screen that is the start of the show and what people should be wanting to use. If this isn't the case the the fold e isn't for them and a normal phone is.
