Someone said that the reason the sound on the Z Fold 3 isn't as loud as because of the seals for the water resistance.

Just got my fold 3 and loving it! I wish the fold 3 was more squared off like the fold 2.

I think Z fold 2 looks way ways better, I mean just look at it, z fold 2 is a beauty, and the features are literally the same so, I prefer z fold 2

After spending 24 hours with my 3, seriously considering returning it for a refund. 1. Crappy speakers compared to my 2 and I use it more for media consumption than anything so that is kind of a deal breaker from the start. 2. The screen corners are rounded off like an S series and on the 2 it is more squared off like the Note series which I definitely prefer. 3. You can barely whatsoever tell the difference between the 2 and the 3 when it comes to multitasking or flex mode or anything else for that matter. 4. Battery life on my 2 is better than the 3. 5. My 2 is in flawless condition. 6. I'm nobody's fan boy..... I am going to spend another day or so before I make my final decision but that is pretty much where it stands right now. I hope my little review helps people who are considering upgrading.

As far as the brightness of the screens, you need to be in sunlight to tell the difference. Manually setting the brightness to max on a samsung phone will NOT reach the screens maximum because samsung uses the ambient sensor to dictate maximum screen brightness. You can trick it to reach maximum by putting a strong flashlight on the ambient sensor

Z fold 2 looks lot more expensive.

One is water resistant and s pen compatible the other is not. I think that is enough for purchase.

Great video... But the sound test might've been compromised a bit. You have the 2 against the top of the 3 and the 3 bouncing off nothing. You know things sound louder when reflected off an object... At least that's how it sounded to me. Both could've been rotated to point toward you. And you didn't really touch on the water resistance at all which is a huge factor for phones of this size and price and the 3 I think is resistent up to like a meter under water for like 30 minutes or something I think.

I trust your comparisons the most because i know you've used it all year. Not like a reviewer who hasn't touched it most of the and came back to it just to do the comparison. Thanks for this.

I would pick the Fold 3 just for the under display camera instead of the cut-out which is super annoying to me. I simply can not get used to it. It takes my focus and I prefer the phones with the pop up camera. this is the only reason I'm sticking with my S10e ... I'm waiting the phones with UDC to become cheaper.

Don't cover the speakers on the sound test. Yes, each of them had one speaker covered, but since you covered different speaker for each, and we don't know if these speakers are identical, it wasn't a fair test

Love my z fold 2. Best phone I've ever owned. And playing xcloud gaming with the controller for it is awesome. C'mon octacore processor with 12gbgddr5 ram and refresh rate of 120hz!

For those of us that markup and sign a lot of documents, the s-pen functionality on the ZF3 is really helpful. Also, you can do the trade in and write-off the phone as a business expense to make the upgrade feel more reasonable. But you are correct that the differences may not be that much to justify the upgrade. As a side note, I think Samsung missed the mark by not making a ZF3 Plus with an 6.8" external screen and an 8" internal. A phone like that could have easily housed the s-pen and would have been the perfect replacement for the Note series.

I was thinking of trading my z fold 2 for the 3. Samsung giving a good trade in offer. But after your video. I'll think I'll hang on to my z fold 2. Great video✌️

I will stick with my Z fold 2 only real reason to upgrade is water resistance if your careful no reason to upgrade. The more durable inside screen claim I will believe it when I see it tbh. My fold 2 has been dropped into sand yeeted into dirt and dropped a few times. Now I have a nice leather magnet wallet case that for the most part keeps it clean and protected. After almost a year now the phone is a tank and the hinge still works and no cracks on either screen the front screen has a small scratch but I dont have a screen protector on it and I took the risk. still plenty usuable and tbh any phone would have a scratch after what its been through lol.

Wicked comparison just what we need to compare thanks you. Just a quick note not a negative just trying to be helpful. When your testing the sound at 9.17 min your actually partially blocking the sound coming out of the speaker with the fold 2 so of course it's not going to be as punchy. You have them directly side by side. So it has no room to resonate instead it's squished out of the tiny gap. Move them clear away from each other then try. I bet it's better.

You have the speakers right up against each other. Bottom speaker always sound better then the top speaker.

This year I just couldn't justify buying the z fold 3 lol I'm seriously still loving my z fold 2 and I just ordered a z flip 3 this year, maybe next year it'll be a large enough upgrade for me to trade in my z fold 2 for a z fold 4 or something along those lines!!!

2 years later and i still have my z Fold 2 and it Works fine. Even today with the Z Fold 5 they still the same, only Software Size is 5 better with more Options thats it

The battery on the Fold 3 is draining fast. I took Fold 3 and the Flip 3 off the charger at 9 am at 100%. The Fold 3 at 3:40 pm is at 35% while the Flip 3 89%. The brightest is low on both phones. Looks like Flip is so far passing the test. Pictures are really good as well.

Only thing I really would have added to the Samsung fold 3 would be the same speaker system as the 2 and a micro SD card slot for external media storage. I don't like the fact that it forces you to save all of your information on a phone and if anything happens to it suddenly ybut suddenly your pictures and videos are all gone I'm almost you backed up to an online cloud storage storage or backup weekly manually dragging your files to a computer.

Having now seen the phone in person, I can say I don't notice the camera behind the screen unless you're looking for it and that depends what's on the screen, it also takes better pictures than my current phone, but my current phones terrible lol

For all my Fold 2 owner make sure you use the one yr warranty to get your phone replaced with a new one before its too late.

I just bought the Z Fold 2 for $680 used on ebay with all accessories unused. It has a cracked back glass but I'll replace that myself. I got a steal of a deal. I'm upgrading from my Galaxy Note 8 64GB to Z Fold 2 256GB

Is it possible the coating that they put on the components to make them water resistant somewhat muffles the Z Fold 3 speakers a bit?

i'm wondering if the reason why the Fold 2 is opening things faster is cause thats the one you 've been using. So the cookies and history are in the Fold 2, which is not in the Fold 3. Just a thought. Maybe reset both to factory. then redo?

I appreciate you trying to show the live comparison, but the brightness isn't active and shown until it reaches "peak brightness" meaning you have to be in direct sunlight and have on auto brightness. The screen gets even brighter than max brightness when sensors detect sunlight.

As a long time fan of the Note series, I'm itching to upgrade from the Fold 2. I can do it with credit card points without cash but I'm probably going to hold off as I wouldn't know what to do with my old phone. Trade in value is minor particularly with the external damage like yous LOL. But great video

Hey bud. Great review by the way. Nothing new here that we don't already know. The main difference is the added functionality of the s pen and durability. For me, I have the 2 side by side now for 48hrs, and I firmly believe that the fold 3 feels a lot lighter and functional. My inner screen will get less fingerprints too. On the case, the non- s pen leather flip cover fits the fold 3 perfectly and slim (camel color)

The finger smudges on my ZF2 make the upgrade easy. The smudges are most noticeable in direct light and I'm constantly cleaning the main display. When I'm watching content and a recieve a text I use the cover screen so I don't smudge the clean inner display.. The spen is the game changer. When they integrate a Bluetooth spen with the fourth generation the Z Fold will enter god tier territory.

I think Z Fold3 has brighter and more color than the Fold2 (comparing the blue/purple in wallpaper), you forgot to mention the Fold3 is waterproof for those who need that, I like the more square corners in the Fold2 than the Fold3 and it looks like the bezels are more thin in the Fold2, small details make a big difference but I'm still in love with my Fold3. People are really curious when I open it in public lol.

Zfold 2 camera looks slightly better which is weird considering they have the same sensor I was expecting zfold 3 at the worst 2 being exact same quality or slightly better cause u would expect some software n hardware improvements.

I just got myself a fold 2 brand new for 1000 bucks wanted to know if I was missing up on fold 3. I don't intend to change it for years down the road so what do you say guys? Was it worth it?

Good video. Another youtubers notice higher volume on z fod 2 , and this 11 grams weight difference is nothing. Another thing is and this is not known fact that z fold 2 is thinner than z fold 3 when is folded on 1 side, only hinge has smaller gap in z fold 3 in folded mode. So why they put smaller battery for thicker phone, don't know. Good thing is that z fold 2 got already update to one ui 3.1.1 and have now all those software bells like z fold 3.

waterprotection makes sound worse ..but you can always go inside samsung music and set you equalizer custom. turn the 16khz up by 5db...the hole phome will sound awesome

U really should re do ur sound test comparison since u have the bottom speaker of the fold 2 touching the top of the fold 3. There should be space around all sides of each phone

Fold three has slightly sharper photos from the main camera! Seriously they had a while to get the software right on these new phones I don't understand how they can flop.

OK so I also had both side by side when I switched to the Fold 3 and I cannot confirm what this dude is saying. First of all, the screens are both noticeably brighter. This is especially obvious in outside sunlight, the brightness peaks, which you cannot manually achieve. Also you want to look at the whites when comparing, not the colors. Next is the sound. The way this guy is comparing the phones side by side, he is actually blocking the top speaker of the fold 3. I found the sound to be much richer and more bass on the fold 3. Also the fingerprint scanner is light-years better on the 3,as I found it quite crappy on the 2. The vibration motor is also better. Overall if you like the 2, you will love the 3.

Great review 👏 there were 3 things people were asking from Samsung, and that was to make the next fold water resistant, done. To make it less expensive, done. To make the front screen 120hz refresh rate, done. To make it more durable, done. To get rid of the punch hole camera on the main screen, done. So everyone and there mother's can make comparisons between the fold2 and the fold3, but at the end of the day Samsung did everything there clients ask of them. And if anyone complains about the fold3 it's just sour grapes.

The z-fold 2 in your video looks more color accurate than the z-fold three. After watching more of the video I just think it's the camera angle and the camera that's making the screens look different. Also the sound test you were blocking the speakers on both of the phones. Lol

I feel the Fold3 has more slats for the speaker for water to seep out of and they must have waterproofed the speaker grills too. Hence the lesser sound output compared to the 2. I am just pontificating here. I have no proof of it whatsoever. I compared the sound on both the devices and the 2 is a tad bit louder.

Water proofing effects the sound

I really appreciate Samsung for pioneering foldable but I really hope next gen can have wider front screen as my fold 2 front screen is really hard to use
