It's fun to watch. Do NOT get hung up on historical accuracy. The Elizabeth movies take quite a lot of liberty with historical facts.

I know all these scenes are about ER I and Cate Blanchet was incredible in all of these scenes. But, Vincent Cassel also stole every single scene as well. What a phenomenal actor!

Bit of trivia. The fake Duke of Anjou was played by Sir Tim Bevan. He with Eric Fellner created Working Title Films which produced both films Elizabeth films. Their other credits are Four Wedding and A Funeral, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Bridget Jones movies, Darkest Hour, Baby Driver and many more.

I still can't believe the ninth doctor was in this movie. I think I can rightfully say, Cate is A beautiful woman. She's my top pick in playing Hera is they ever make A movie center around the Greek Gods.

Elizabeth absolutely had the right idea. And her strategy was smart. She inherited a country that had economic and diplomatic problems. Her "game of suitors" kept everyone on the leash, hoping to become her consort. So no one could pursue war against her. This bought her country time to work on its internal problems.

She did like him and would have married the Archduke but someone in his party pulled a fast one and insisted if he became Holy Roman Emperor then Elizabeth would have to become a Catholic. The rest they say is history.
