great review. another pro for any tube amp is that you can upgrade the sound quality and fine tune the tone by swapping tubes, modern tubes are fine but nos sounds a lot better and last longer.

I'm sure Thomas appreciates this review regardless of the Nit Pic's as I imagine he has some respect for them and his getting as close as he could to his ideal for the $. And if I'm not mistaken he also did his own comparison to Haggle. The one of many things to remember is none of us hear the same song exactly the same way. No two ears hear exactly the same way given natures genetic design per person. Yes, we have similarities, but. And Taste in our musical nature affects this as well. 🎉 Great Review though I'd like to add that the cost of those Tubes is like Bentley to Toyota if you can afford a Bentley then you needn't worry. But then again Music for some is worth every penny spent.

Went from Hegel H190 to Integrated Tube Amp Rogue Audio Magnum III..Simply put like you said a tube amp is more FUN,. There is nothing wrong with the Hegel, tubes I believe help you connect more with the music: natural, warm . Hegel more sterile. As far as tube life goes for most of us would take years before tubes would wear out. Klipsch speakers at their best with tube amps

Of course it’s a great amp, it’s Thomas's amp 🤩 Both this and the Hegal are off my shopping list though because I need balance control in addition to the tone control. Not sure I’ve ever seen a tube amp with balance control, maybe not doable. Most high end amps lack balance control. I guess those of us with some off sided hearing loss or a need to sit off centre are shunned as undesirables by the audiophile clan.

@@brentcollins9727 Yes some Mcintosh amps have it all, but in my country they are extra pricey. Not just a Mcintosh premium but a premium on top of that. About double the U.S. price. I see there’s some Luxman class A amps that have tone and balance.

I guess the aesthetic isn't everyone's cup of tea. As far as audio components are concerned, I prefer them to be clean and not draw to much attention. Having said that, there's something about those tubes glowing that just draws me in. 🔥🍻

I could get over the 10.000 hours set of tubes, but 2500 hours at a cost of $100 each. They would last me less then a year. It would be to much for me. As well the expenses as the hassle.
@MisterChibs
@MisterChibs Жыл бұрын
Yea, I get that and by my calculations, those KT88C's would last me around the same time as you. What some do is alternate between solid state in the summer and use their tube amps in the winter (they get warm). Still not a cheap prospect though and the price of tubes seems to be in a constant state of fluctuation. Thanks for watching Leo!🍻

AB is to compensate the shortcommings of current trendy speakers , tube amplifiers are not the technology to drive those speakers that need a the but in the but and other needs ..........Class A is for the right speakers and both are superior on a musical level instead of the high end hype of today ........audiophile beliefs are conditionned by marketing . But indeed this amplifier could be a satisfying compromise ......it will live as long as it's solid stae parts survive the tooth of time !

@@leokuiper2593 We can talk about an unbiased review (at least for me) when you go to a random store (can also be an online store), buy a product with your own money and then do a review.
@leokuiper2593
@leokuiper2593 Жыл бұрын
@@user-ys4og2vv8k Well, that’s just your opinion. Most reviewers get equipment send to them by manufacturers. As long they are not payed by them for the review or arrangements are made that the review has to be positive there’s nothing wrong. It’s not like Mr Chibs has a material or financial gain here, which would make it suspicious. Anyway there’s no way you could know the review is biased. That means you are defamatory just on your gut feeling and plainly unfair.
@leokuiper2593
@leokuiper2593 Жыл бұрын
@@user-ys4og2vv8k If reviewer worked as you would like, they should buy everything with their own money, paying large amounts of money without knowing they would buy anything good and after they needed to sell it against a loss of money, because it would be already second hand. If they had to sell the bad reviewed stuff, they would even loose more money, because they just told online it was crap. How could you be a professional reviewer like that, or even a hobbyist reviewer? You had to be very rich and not give a shit about money.
@user-ys4og2vv8k
@user-ys4og2vv8k Жыл бұрын
@@leokuiper2593 Of course, it is in the interest of "ThomasAndStereo" to present his product to the widest possible audience, so he also sends his amplifier to many YT audio reviewers. How many independent reviews there are as a result is another question... The fact is that anyone who is really interested in a certain product can buy it and return it within a certain time (30 or even 60) days - which I believe is satisfactory time for an independent review. Otherwise, it's just advertising.
