What's so amazing,all this happens after midnight, something MLB perspective amiss, I remember leaving work and driving over the speed limit,listening on the radio. @Chickmagnut90 Basically it was a pitch out only better. Look at where that pitch was thrown. High fastball just outside the strike zone. Perfect location for a catcher. It gave Posada the best opportunity to stand and throw Roberts out in one motion. Most traditional pitchouts are more to the outside and usually have a bit less oomph on them (to avoid a wild pitch). The problem is Roberts had a big lead and a great jump. It would have taken a perfect throw to nail him. And it was a very good throw. Quick release and accurate. But it wasn't perfect. Just slightly to the shortstop side of the bag. That was just enough to let Robert's BARELY beat the tag.

This was the first game I watched all series! I happened to turn it on right before papi homered(or rbi, but I think it was a homer) earlier in the game I called and was so excited saying how I knew we were gonna go all the way and I felt like I was watching it with my mom. It was my senior year and I was applying to schools and so it was raw emotion without the analytics. So that helped. Otherwise I would’ve been a mess too!

The 2004 world series was an anti-climax after watching the Red Sox come back and beat the Yankees. 2004 was so darn special that the Red Sox could/can not ever match it. I still have my 2004 Red Sox American League Champions ball cap as a keep sake. Too precious to wear. I must've bought over a dozen 2004 WS ball caps. I still wear them today. I've watch the Red Sox win other WS - 2007, 2013, 2018. None were as special 2004.

Game 3, 2004 WS - Pedro Martinez was vintage Martinez. His pitching was absolutely brilliant. I still rewatch that game because of Pedro.

I was at my parent’s house that day, a divided Sox/yanks household. Dad was thrilled at the prospect of the Yankees humiliating the Sox two years in a row. Mom said, “wait til next year”, just as she had every year since being born into a Sox family. I was rooting for the Sox but since I ‘m a realist I didnt hold out much hope. That game changed everything for Sox fans and made us believe in miracles, especially the older fans like my Mom who had witnessed so much failure.

Back then we had Great players,Great teams,and stadiums were always loud, packed and filled with energy even regular season games.I went to a game few weeks back with a friend and the stadium was half empty and everyone looked flat our bored.

Like just the other day, for the first time ever, every home team won their game. 2011 ended with the most exciting day of baseball in the history of the sport, regardless of who you're a fan of. And if you missed it, you missed history. 2011's World Series was also amazing. In 2015 we're seeing some of the most talented baseball players to ever step on the field. Between Trout, Harper, Stanton, and Bryant, baseball has never been in better hands. I never thought I'd say that but it's true. If you're not watching now, you're missing out on what might turn out to be the best player to ever play the game (Trout)
