It's a Super Show....Phil is back co-hosting with Josh & Troy and on this episode of the Hockey Cards Gongshow podcast we start by honoring the NHL's (almost) greatest player to wear the number 98 for episode 198 (11:48). Next, tonight is Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals and the outcome will truly be a pivotal hobby moment for Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and players on the Panthers like Matthew Tkachuk & Sergei Bobrovsky (28:46). In hobby news we update The Road To Infinity, PSA takes over for CGC in the eBay Authenticity program, and Stanley Cup TV ratings (1:05:18). On last Monday's show we had a mailbag question regarding if we thought the hobby is a welcoming place and we gave our opinions. We wanted to follow-up with solutions and our ideas on how to make it more welcoming, plus Phil teaches a hobby Facebook etiquette class (1:24:23). Great show fellas as usual! I do enjoy the dynamic PHIL brings. One thing I really like is that he is living in Canada and can give the scoop on sports cards, fans, all the buzz from there on hockey and the hobby.

I love extended series. I prefer the inserts to those in series 1 & 2 (with the exception of the draft day cards.) I know the Young Guns aren't usually as good but overall it's a trade off I'm okay with.

Absolutely agree with Phil (love his frequent appearances, by the way!) about the crazies on epack. I enjoy silver and rainbow foiling base cards and the occasional Young Guns for my PC players, but the problem is the epack crowd place wild de facto "foiling taxes" on cards. For example, a YG I want goes for $10-$12 in real life, but I can't even get my hands on one for $20 on epack because most of epack is out for blood. Also, I'm sure this has been addressed so forgive me if this is a repeated topic, but what are your thoughts on low numbered cards getting fight strap, fight strap buttons, and laundry tags as patches? I hate seeing the player's chase card read "tumble dry on low heat" instead of being a cool 3+ color logo patch? Hockey has some of the coolest logos in sports, but they aren't being maximized by Upper Deck.

NHL hockey viewership going up maybe due to bedard? I would usually watch the la kings throughout the season and into the playoffs. Once they got eliminated I would stop watching. This year I got into the bedard hockey card hunt .. I found gong show, zeeree ... And throughout the season I learned players names.... Meanwhile la kings Ontario reign made a playoffs push... Eventually losing to Coachella valley... I found myself attending CV game 3 calder cup finals , will be attending the Anaheim ducks logo reveal next Monday... More hockey the better. Make SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HOCKEY GREAT!!!

Have you seen GPS group breaks ugh Leaf, mystery boxes with upgraded cards most people could never sell. Sometimes there ok, but I feel alot of people don't realize they're wasting their money..

why put tape on a card at all? that is what team bags are for, no tape needed. They are like $.02 each, look cleaner, and can go right into the PC. All tape is the worst, I dont want to have to work for 10 minutes, possibly bend my card, and have a pile of trash just to get to it! Maybe its just me?

Phil absolutely ruins the show. He isn't articulate, constantly interrupts conversation and logical flow, worse of all hardly pays any attention, as he is constantly asking to repeat questions. I have a really hard time listening to this dude and now the show subsequently. I really hope you guys can just keep it to Josh and Troy, unless you want this to be a joke of a podcast
