The radio works using the headphones as an antenna, so if you had them untied, you'd pick stations up better. Still have mine from years back and works still as well.

Same here! I had that dark blue sp and all the accessories. I sold it all in my mom's yard sale a few years back for like $15 with all my games! Lol Yes I regret it now!

Well it was relevant at some point, and that's when this accessory pack came out. It's not like it's going to command more then a few $ today. Also a system is dead only when you give up on it. Otherwise, it's still useful. Tons of good games on this system, tons.

I actually have the transformer magnifier. My cousin gave it to me for free because I was very blind. It was so helpful for me and I used it every time I used it.

I had a magnifier accessory for my Game Boy Color back in the late 90's, and it had 2 built-in LED's, since the screen of the GBC wasn't back-lit yet. That thing was the bomb. Loved it.

+allan fulton Good call, I'd definitely change my position on it now. It is more useful than I gave it credit for. I was too focused on the portability. Plus, another comment pointed out that it's a nice option to have when your battery can no longer hold a charge.

Yeah, I would have given it one too. Especially if you don't want your favorite jeans to get the whats in your pocket fade. Would be even better if the headphone converter wasn't balls ugly. The shell would have gotten a point too. Maybe it was together 10 years ago.

I'm considering how much a gamecube cable, a link cable, a car charger, a grip, and a headphone adapter would go for, and I gotta say I can imagine those sold individually might actually go for more than the 49.99 this pack sold for. Especially if you get nintendo-branded versions of all the cables.

I would've KILLED for the extra battery. I had an SP, it was a really nice red color, for a little over a year when Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby first came out and I played it so much the eternal battery of both the SP and the game cartridge burned out.

The Internal battery is for time sensitive events in the game like Shoal Cave or the lottery. Without it, the game can be played and saved but these features would no longer be playable. I can promise you that my game was the real thing :)

Maddi The Nerd it's really not that hard. You just need to open the cartridge, take the board out inside, carefully take off the old battery which is really easy, just have to be careful and then solder a new one on.

When I was like, 8 or so, I walked in to a Game Stop (first mistake) and asked the guy at the counter for help (second mistake) finding a protective case for my Gameboy Color (new at the time). He told me they only had one. It was behind the counter. I decided to buy it without inspecting it (third mistake) because I assumed the guy knew what he was talking about (fourth mistake). Turns out it was just some stupid magnifying attachment. WORTHLESS! It also came with a light, though, and that was handy. Stupid things had no built in lights...

There is also a dreamGear headphone adapter for the GBA SP. The dreamGear headphone adapter for the GBA SP has both the charging port for the GBA SP charger and a headphone jack.

The reason it wasn't given a point is because you have to also carry around a special screwdriver to replace the damn thing. A portable recharging dock would've been way more useful and would've totally been possible at the time.

You know back in the day, if it worked the fm radio would be amazing, when in the car my dad would never let me have the volume up, so having the ability to turn it down but put headphones in a blur him out would be fantastic.

My little brother totally had this set. He was so obsessed with gameboy that he basically only played gameboy. Wake up eat some cereal, play Pokémon, go next door to a friends house to play more Pokémon, go home and play nintendogs for a bit, then play Pokémon after dinner until falling asleep. Every day. i think you were way too hard on the judgement scale for this, you didn't buy it new so of course you can't expect everything to be 100%, you should have judged things based on thought, not function years after it was sold. The screen protector was used, of course it was scratched, that should be a point, and back in the day gameboy sp's were sick, so if you wore the hip ting and had a pager they would both have been sick, another point, speakers are great, another point, thats already 9 instead of 6

I grew up using the wing grip and honestly it was so comfy, definitely made it the most comfortable handheld I've owned. A+ accessory.

The car charger was great, my fam lives in Michigan so when I was little me, my cousin, my dad, mom and gma would pile into my gmas van and drive there for HOURS. The game boy advance sp was the best to keep me entertained, along with a portable DVD player haha. But fr especially staying in family’s houses when I would wait for everyone to wake up, playing this under the blanket with the backlight on was great! Miss those dayssss

The extra battery may be actually useful, in case the battery inside the gameboy stops working for some reason where it wont charge like if the battery got damaged, the extra battery could be useful

Oh my god I remember having a similar kit from the same company except it came with a neat case that made me feel like a CEO every time I opened it lol. I will agree the only things I used often were the headphone adapter and the link cable. I also had the screen magnifier and the lens was installed backwards and made the screen smaller 😒 thanks for all the memories lmao

Oh man, the good ol' SP. I still have mine! That was the console I finally beat Super Mario World on after playing for years on the SNES, which I also still have. Gotta love those classic Nintendo consoles!
