I wear my hair wrapped 100% of the time for spiritual reasons and I bought this swim cap last year and I’m thinking my head is small and I call the smaller size. Omg it was so tight and annoying to wear. I’m glad it’s not just me and to hear her saying this about the large makes me not want to get it at all. I was gonna get the larger size this summer but I don’t think this is a great swim cap. I plan to have it on for 1-5 hours at a time and this just wouldn’t be feasible for that. It’s really cute but they definitely need to revisit how the band is structured. You should be in discomfort and pain just to keep your hair dry while swimming.

If the lining is bunched around the perimeter of your head, it can cause extra tightness. The tightness will improve as you wear it and get used to putting it on :)

You'd probably get better results with a flatter hairstyle underneath the turban. More space in the cap could reduce tightness & give you more coverage in the back.

I use that and go to the pool regularly. It is super tight. Hurts my head also. And the back of my hair always gets wet so I just make sure to have conditioner on. One time I actually had my hair done for a wedding and wore it to a swim class. The back still got damp.

Unfortunately they do not offer different sizes. They don't have solutions if your head circumference is larger than 24". My head is 25". I almost purchased it. I don't understand why they wouldn't make them in different sizes. I emailed them about it. Hopefully they will make a larger version soon.

This was a great review thank you! Regular swim caps don’t do that. I think it’s that extra band that it has in the front that caused that mark to happen to your forehead, when you twisted it and brought it t9 the back. And also the reason it was a little extra tight, which is why you got the headache. Amazon sells long hair swim caps. I don’t think they’re black owned but just in case 🤷🏾‍♀️

Thanks for this review Nella! I was contemplating buying this for the kids cause these summer outings are continuous. It sounds like a great investment but if it’s that tight I know my daughter is gonna be like heck no, but maybe for my oldest this will be perfect!

Its the headache for me. I can't even tie my hair back too tight. But yes it's supposed to be tight. I don't think I've worn a swim cap since school days. Theyve never been 100% effective but this still seems great until some new tech happens.

I was thinking, this could help with rainy day but not if it too tight. Heck, I haven't use the shower cap version or bring plastic bags even though that's smart but not necessarily fashionable.

I wonder if the company makes a larger size will that compromise the product and water will definitely get in the cap.

Your baby is the cutest. I try to align my swim days with regular wash days. I don't think any cap really work if you're dunking your head in the water.

I purchased one last year. It looked beautiful, but it was too tight which gave me a severe headache and my hair was soaking wet. I do like swimming under water a lot, so maybe better for those who aren’t constantly submerged.

They probably never have a cap that will guarantee your hair will not get wet. So let’s just stop looking.👀 The best thing to do is wear a short fro so you can wash your hair every time you swim.😮 Yes I was learning how to swim 🏊‍♀️ I knew I had to swim 3-4 times a week so I chopped my relaxed hair off . And sported a short Afro.I am now a swimmer I can swim in the lake and deep pools. So it was worth it for me .

I've come to the conclusion that no matter what you put on your head your hair is going to get wet especially around the perimeters. It also depends on how much you do in the water and how long you stay in the water.. I in other words, the longer you swim in the more you do, (diving, flip turns, drop-ins, various strokes), I'm afraid your hair is going to get wet.

I bought this and regret it. It is TOO SMALL/TIGHT and the makers refuse to make bigger sizes. To make maters worse, it doesn't protect your hair from water. Most expensive swim cap I ever ought and it was a waste of money.
