WHICH Irons SHOULD you PLAY? They both have their ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES depending on your needs as a Golfer. The Larger easy to LAUNCH Game Improvement Irons are more FORGIVING than the Players Irons but lack in FEEL and also LOOKS. The generally Weaker Lofts and smaller Loft Gapped Players Irons also FAVOUR Golfers with a Faster Swing speed.

I love the balance of a forged cavity back like the Wilson CB, Mizuno 243, Titleist T150/100 and Ping Blueprint S. But for those who don't care about feel or a thin topline, game improvement irons are super chill and fun.

They have clear advantages for the Higher Handicap larger variance golfer, yet for the better player and also faster swing speed player, the Players irons offer things that the Game Improvement Irons just can't 👍

@@AskGolfNut I agree. Don't even have to be a better player. I'm between a 9.7 and 14 because I often take a lot of time off and even when I'm rusty, the 243 is plenty forgiving. It has a sneaky wide sole for easy launch. Very different from something like P7MC or 923 Tour or even my Edel SMS Pros which are significantly less forgiving than 243. Every golfer with the swing speed and funds should try players cavity at least once.

I don't know either 😊 I think it's due to the analytical nature of the channel and most people want to waste time swiping on quick entertaining videos rather than longer educational ones that they have to engage their brain on. It's the classic tik tok mentality 👍🏻 quick gratification 👍🏻

Would be really interesting to see you do a comparison between the Wilson irons such as dynapower forged, staff cb and mb. Their new MB iron is phenomenal looking and has a new toe weight design that should make it more stable.

As soon as I, a single digit handicap golfer, had changed my gamer to 223 last year, I came back to mp-20HMB. As you know, even the loft, flight characteristics and distance of both are almost same, but to me they are different animals. I loved the appearance and feel of 223 but prefer the forgiveness of HMB.

Many do prefer the best of both worlds idea of the Players Distance irons. They are expensive for sure but they do provide the somewhat help of a Game Improvement iron with the somewhat looks of a Players Iron 👍🏻👍🏻

Great test really like the comparisons i like the standard deviation of spin on the cb and the slight pull left does lower launch and spin and the realy great thing about the cb iron is that it's easy to bend for loft and lie changes

Great video! Im like a 10 or 12 handicap and I am used to hitting a thin CB (first real set was the Precept Tour Premium CB which was almost a clone of the mizuno that was out at the time). I love the feedback and the feeling of forged irons. Even if GI irons would lead me to shaving soemme strokes off my score, I wouldnt enjoy it as much. Great video as always!

Enjoying Golf is many more things than just the scorecard. Looks and Feel of the equipment you play to soem have equal standing so I know what you mean 👍🏻

Game improvement all day long for me. My 7-iron swing speed is 83-84 mph and I use Callaway Mavrik irons which also have a 27* 7-iron. My carry is about 168-170 yards and the Mavrik is very forgiving for those that don't consistently hit the sweet spot.

Cb/ mb combo all day long probably pw-8 mb7-5 cb and maybe a 5 or 4 in the dyno power for long par 3s and short par 5s

I'm a 17hdcp, but have a high swing speed. Most of the game improvement irons are unplayable for me. I had a set of G410 irons and I was hitting my 7i over 190 yards. Currently using P770 and they're still long, but much more playable at 175-180ish yards. I think I'm going to try some cb irons to see if I can get more consistent height and spin with some more loft.

Yeah there doesn’t seem to be a market for guys who can hit the ball far but might not have best ball striking. Players distance irons can be not fun shooting over greens constantly or not being able to control distance. Players cb type irons can be too difficult for a handicap above 10

Tried the dynapower forged clubs, thought they would offer help but with feel. They did, hit the 6 iron 205 yards carry, wow!!! Felt like i hit a brick, and couldn’t feel where i hit it, my eyesight isn’t great, so feel is important to me. Despite being forged, no feel just pain, not because I didn’t flush it, just that awful brick feel. Wilson are smashing their new stable, but the game improvement irons despite looking better than most, don’t cut it for me.

You might be a bit dramatic here with saying they like a brick lol. I’ve hit the d9 forged and they are great feeling.

Hi bud, matched them by just gripping down a touch on the 5 iron and then swinging them both exactly the same. On holiday this week mate, so Live stream is this evening at 7pm 👍

Your five swings with the choked down weaker lofted 5 iron cb averaged 94.1 mph club head speed.

@DonLarsoni yep that was on the very few swings done on camera just to talk about the test in question. The full on manyany shots test was done off camera so you don't have the pain of watching me hit 75 shots to get a good matching comparison 👍🏻 In the full off camera test I choked down a touch to mitigate the longer shaft in the 5 iron over the 7 iron, in the end everything matched perfectly to get the final result 👍🏻

Agree, it's not massive but still I feel the same that it's a little more predictable, only for fairly centred strikes though, as soon as you start moving around the face, the Game Improvement iron starts to flex it's muscles 💪 👍🏻

Looks like there is no reason that players irons should cost more than game improvement irons with all the technology.

Now that is a good point. What does cost more is the process to make a forging rather than a cast iron. Also the Players Distance Irons are commonly the most expensive as they are a mix of the Forged material with as much 'tech' as possible in them 👍

@@AskGolfNuti was going to say the same thing, forging is more expensive, also the materials used in forging are better metals, so cost of materials and manufacturing, add in economy of scale, as more game improvement clubs are sold, and you get the extra cost.

It’s that forged metal is more expensive than cast metal. It’s the way they are made.
