Twitter is not known for nuance, and there are a lot of pieces that go into the community's issues with the Secret Lair situation. I think a more substantive discussion would be welcome by most of your viewers, even if I suspect most of them (including myself) will disagree with your position.

For people too lazy to look up their Twitter response: Jimmy Wong I’m in agreement here. Bans should be made for gameplay reasons. I don’t like TWD cards. I still don’t understand why they weren’t silver bordered or alt-named like the Godzilla promos before it. But if you pull out a deck with a TWD card as Commander, I won’t ever stop you. Yeah that’s odd to me. Because you can save your creatures it seems you would want less creatures and more equipment. With that low of an equipment count you might not draw an equipment to put on your creatures

For the Akiri deck I'm actually surprised to see no living weapon equipment cards at all. If there is a compromise where you need equipment but also need creatures then living weapons are your middle ground of fulfilling an equipment slot while not losing a creature slot. I don't think they are all great but Batterskull is just amazing and Flayer Husk is a 1 drop equipment that already comes equipped with a creature. I think cheap equipment and 0 equip equipment are good directions and play to Akiri's strengths but I think at least those two living weapons are worth a consideration.

I can’t say I’m surprised to find Im not the first person to say this, but to keep the pressure on I’ll join in and ask: why has the command zone neglected to make a comment about the secret lair for TWD? I know I don’t follow every magic channel that exist but I follow/see a good majority of them and everyone else has at least mentioned it by now

Because they don't want to alienate their sponsor, and they don't want to alienate their fan base. ("Opinion") They don't make money from wizards with out their fan base. And the fan base doesn't get as good of content without wizards affiliation.

Been playing my akiri deck a few times now and it is absolutely amazing. No its not CEDH cause i like my playgroupe, but it still makes the whole table shiver when she starts slammen my opponents directly with tons of dmg!

I know what you meeeean,but how the card feels is just off, but then again, im just gonna be sleeving it anyway so it shouldn;'t bother me lmao, but it's also weird because i already proxy some cards, especially any DFC, then proxying means paying money, and so on, and such AHhhHhHh cAaRds.

Or just get someone who does alt art proxies? You can have a custom card with beautiful art & the back is done differently so its obvious from one side that its not a real card. A great way to support artists & play the game at a 1/4 of the cost.

Everyone is talking about acknowledging bias, but I've seen no-one mentioning Mitch himself has a stake in the format remaining low-powered enough for his decks (which he sells via affiliate links) to remain viable enough to be played. It's gotta work both ways. So until Mitch comes out and admits he has his own biases, I see no reason for these guys to either. It's hypocrisy to demand one acknowledgment but not the other.

Really can only end badly for them if they take a stance against it and they can't afford to lose a massive amount of credibility and viewer support from supporting it.

I bought the Anowon deck, and then my brother pulled a Glasspool Mimic from a Zendikar Rising booster, and so we've kinda pooled our collections to build around that precon. Unfortunately, we're still waiting on a couple of the ramp upgrades so the deck isn't entirely up to scratch, but it's decent.

For the first point in the Akiri section, I built the deck and I run 15 creatures (including Akiri) and 21 equipment but 9 of them are the living weapons that are allowed (lashwrithe is unfortunately a black card because of the equip cost). I thought that was a better idea than running a lot of creatures.

Also if your gonna do the boros land strategy they mentioned i would recommended lotus field, thespian stage, weathered wayfarer and surveyors scope, its so fun to play lotus field, sac your two lands and play brought back on them or crack your surveyors scope for possibly 3 basics that come out untapped

One of the things I'm curious about regarding the Akiri deck is whether you played the Living Weapon cards. Having something like a Batterskull, or a Flayer Husk, seems like a good way to up your equipment count without hurting your creature count.

I feel it’s really worth pointing out that Harrow has a much greater risk because you sacrifice as a cost. If it gets countered, the land is gone for good.

@Magnus Hov also, if you copy Harrow with a reverberate or something, you don’t have to sacrifice again. You just get two lands. This means the inverse of copying Roiling Regrowth does require you to sacrifice when you copy it.

i saw the recent game knights ep, and i was inspired to build the akiri deck. i just wanted to build a red-ish deck for a while (all the other commander decks i've built aren't red). it's hard trying to incorporate answers to answers to board wipes without affecting the overall strategy.

@Antonio Starch look, they're the biggest Commander channel out there. Some people get all their MtG news from them. Those people don't even know these cards exist. The precons are talked to death on every commander channel, you don't see that stopping them from doing the same. These are new cards entering the format and warranted a response from the Rules Committee. Normally the biggest Commander channel would at least comment on it.

I made just a fun little brawl deck on Arena with Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats as my commander. Lots of little first strike dudes and then some party members to get him out faster. With the lower life total it works really well as a good old fashioned aggro deck. Having death touch on all your creatures is actually really nice, especially if they already have or gain first strike. No blocker is safe and no face is untouched.

The best thing about Outmanuever is that you don't even have to be involved in the combat to play it. You can ensure that one of your opponents takes out another opponent, then swoop in for the final kill on your turn.

I built a stax deck around the new Linvala. I think arrest style abilities are powerful in commander and her ability to protect her hate bears makes her great as a stax commander. It isn't as difficult as you might think to get to a full party and benefit from that mechanic.

I wanted to build around the new Omnath. Had plans to buy one after opening my Set Booster. Luckily, the last pack had the Showcase Omnath! So I took the Land's Wrath precon and used that as a jumping off point for the build. What I'm running into issue wise is that I'm running out of cards in hand due to how many "go get land(s)" spells I'm playing. Not sure of a reliable way to keep my hand filled with things. Any suggestions?

Why not include living weapon cards in Akiri? Seems like it would solve a deckbuilding challenge to get an equipped body for one card

I am building a Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats deck centered around tokens. Yes, there are cards like Goblin chainwhirler and Dagger Caster, but that is a subtheme. Incidentally, I am also using the party mechanic by mistake as that is not a main focus, but a lot of the cards that could potentially get in for damage are clerics and rogues. Just having trouble making it consistent. Can anyone suggest any cards?

Reading this stuff with Akiri did make me think a little about Nazahn ideas. Having thoes cheap swaps are the only way to really take advantage of Nazahn's ability, and thus would likely be using some of the same options.

A way I've thought of running it with lots of tokens and small equipment, using his secondary ability to basically tap all of the opponents creatures. Course his other ability is the more powerful trick I've thought of building around.

Hopefully this gets answered, but it’s An older video so Maybe not. How many fetches do you need to run the boros ramp Package? I know you can have at most 12, so is 8 enough? 10? Just asking since some fetches are pretty high priced. Also curious why you would run goblin assault but not outlaws merriment, is the one mana saved worth not having the extra keyword potential of the outlaws merriment tokens? Would you run both? Just some thoughts. Building an akiri List and these are things I’m considering

What about Oath of Lieges as white ramp? If the issue is green decks ramping faster and putting more lands out, this can even the playing field, especially if you are later in the turn order.

I build Akiri, faces some challenges Josh did as well. I have put Akiri, Tasri and Omnath in my commandercube. Got to draft Omnath the other day. Had 60+ power on the board, but I could not block, so lost in the heads up. I find it hard building an Omnath deck that is to powerful for my playgroup. So my power 5-6 ish EDH-cube with no infinite-comboes is the place to be with Omnath :)

I found a key piece for my phylath endgame came in the form of raid bombardment, opponents never see it coming with a bunch of 0/1's instead of expecting a couple 4/5's.

You could run Phylath as a commander or run him as one of the 99 with Omnath as the EDH leader instead. It's up to you, really.

the ZNR legend I've built around most successfully is Verazol, the Split Current. Lots of ramp, lots of big creatures. My angry Omnath deck got a lot better with ZNR though.

Unfortunately both of my lands decks (gitrog and titania) didn't really get many new toys because so much of the landfall stuff was red or focused specifically on land etbs. The mdfc regrowth is really exciting tho. I also might try to build some orah clerics nonsense.

A bit of a setup to pull off and I don't know if this works the way I think it is but i think: Armory Automaton + blade of selves can work even if you don't have much creature to equip to. Say combat and Armory Automaton is equiped with blade of selves and akiri is out. You attack - myrriad triggers, 2 more tapped and attacking automaton with an etb trigger to auto equip an equipment. Attach atleast one for each and you should be able to draw 3 (assuming 4 player pod) Again i don't know if this is possible or accurate. Please feel free to correct me. I'm trying to build akiri too :)

Good, good, give into your Boros Nature Josh. Next up for you, either a Feather or Winota deck. Plus think of the additional value you can get with Solemn Simulacrum. Not only can it ramp you and draw you a card when it dies, but you can also equip a sword to it, lol. Hopefully Wizards continues to try to sure up Boros in Commander, but unfortunately I feel like their efforts are a bit underpowered compared to what black, green, and blue based decks get.

Looking to build Orah, Skyclave Hierophant to do some cleric tribal, life gain/life drain and aristocrats stuff. Yeah not the most original deck for Orzhov but hey I don't have an Orzhov commander deck yet. Vito, new Drana, and Angel of Destiny are all cards I want to play with

I'm trying to build a Kaza, Roil Chaser deck and the challenge I'm facing with it is; 1) I know that Kaza cares about Wizards to reduce the cost of instants and sorceries Add Wizards. 2) Wizards are very good together and feel the need to run 45 Wizard creatures in the deck. 3) Oops, need other spells that care about Wizards. 4) Oops, gotta make sure it's a lot of red and blue spells. 5) Need big spells for discounts to matter. Adds 6+ CMC "Take an extra turn" cards. 6) Oops, making an Extra Turns deck that doesn't need the Wizards. 7) Oops, need to remove Wizards to fit in "X" spells. 8) But I don't want to remove these Wizards. 9) But I also forgot accelerants like mana rocks and Sword of the Animist. 10) Remove ten Wizard cards that now change vibe of deck. 11) Just play REPLICATE and add a bunch of "Untap Kaza, PLEASE" permanents.

Lol so here's a comment not about TWD SL: The decks you both played were both fantastic, and I was pretty impressed with Jimmy's performance! I definitely underestimated Pako and Haldan when I first saw them.

I'd love to see this deck revisited, I think Josh's land ramp strategy is not as prominent as it was. My akiri list runs fine without any of the fetches or crucible of worlds. I think with sword of hearth and home, knight of the white orchid, wayfarers bauble, and Archaemancer's Map and myrad landscape you're good. I used to run a keeper of the accord but found it wasn't as needed with the ramp I've listed.

Ok I saw the sometimes the videos are recorded weeks in advance comment But what happens wean they make videos wean there is a new ban o changes in commander. They basically make the videos immediately And they can say because is a important change on the game , but this is also and important topic on the format or not ?

@51:40 with Skarrg, the Rage Pits Josh says it can produce a diamond Mana (colorless) but on the card it has the (1) I thought there was a difference. Is there?

All the older cards received errata to produce Diamonds. Updated officially on MTGO, Gatherer, and reflected in other databases such as Scryfall's.

This reminded me of something. Why did not you play with brawl commanders from throne in edh? Would be really cool to see how they perform not in their zone. Equip is a problem without manaramp? Not for gwyn.

Honestly, I’m not thrilled about the WD Secret Lair, but I give my respect the Josh and Jimmy because I’ve seen throughout the comments and twitter and all they are receiving is hate when talking about the Secret lair. Instead of hearing on them about something WOTC is doing maybe we could just understand that The Command Zone is in a tough spot right now in that subject and no matter what they say folks are gonna hate on either side. Keep up the great work guys! Definitely my favorite channel!!

Josh, how much do you pull punches in Game Knights? I noticed a strange play pattern with Felidar Retreat in the last one. I understand some punts might be in the name of showmanship?
