I just realized Lady Mysaria could also be a kid from Saera, born in her time in Lys. She was also very involved in the Dance of dragons. I hope this is part of your theorie, I hope Saera's troubles go so far to the Blackfyre rebellions

and besides... Seara never had a dragon. The reason why Alicent's sons was dragonriders was his father Viserys. The fact that Seara was having sex with Otto is... well out of nowhere.

Cregan Stark should have taken his army straight to Oldtown and destroyed the Hightowers and had the Manderlys come back down to the reach as the new Liege Lords and have a Manderly named Warden of the South, while still remaining at the Wolfs Den, after all the Gardners had been long gone. Such an arrangement would have given the starks power in the south, as the manderly's are sworn to House stark for giving them refuge after their exile from the Reach.

Seriously digging Fire and Blood. George has done so much with this book, including subtle commentaries on history books themselves and the bias that can occur from historians. Honestly, it may be my favourite from his bibliography.

I accept this theory as 110% cannon. It lines up too perfectly for it to not be the case. Which is why I find it so ridiculous House of The Dragon doesn’t start here. Showing Daella and Saera and Saera’s daughter Alicent and Daella’s granddaughter Rhaenera beginning the Dance. The Dance started with Saera. No doubt.

I even told my roommate who is just getting into reading ASOIAF and he also fully believes this theory. Alicent’s age is just too perfect and she has no listed mother which stands out a lot.

It's a nice theory but there were passages in Fire and Blood about Jaehaerys that hinted at him becoming senile as he aged. When Barth dies, along with other members of the Small Council, the book stated "he found himself wondering, do I know these men?" about their replacements. I'd say it was more likely that he was becoming forgetful in his old age and old regrets about what became of his daughter combined with a beautiful young woman attending him with kindness made him think she was Saera come back to him.

I still think Jaeherys was just experiencing dementia symptoms on his death bed and mistook Alicent for Saera. But there’s no actual biological relation. How would Alicent be a legitimate Hightower if born to Saera out of wedlock?

Not everyone can be a secret this or a secret that( though in the case of the Ullers,.. I'm slowly convincing myself that the Iron Letter told Aegon that Rhaenys was alive and well and pregnant). But Her importance to the overall story doesnt change either way,...That would be the biggest minus in my mind to her being a secret Targaryen, It doesnt change anything. Targaryen genetics still work better when combined with Velaryon, Hightower or Blackwood genes, the Rogare are still aligned with the Hightowers at the end of the day(Vrys Illyrio Serra etc), and the Dance was going to happen as soon as a male heir was born; no matter who the mother was ultimately.

allyria stark because Rhaenyra was in a marriage in which she could pass off the boys as legitimate. Saera was unmarried. If Saera got pregnant, had the baby, then left Oldtown, now there’s just a baby left with no mother. That’s harder to pass off ...who would fake being the mother or father? There would have to be another Ned Stark willing to claim the baby as his ...and as far as I know, we have no Hightower character like that

Otto Hightower just might have claimed that she was the daughter of his first wife, a lowborn girl (after Saera got pregnant), but the lowborn girl had an "accident" right after Alicent was born. Alternatively, he could have convinced his wife to claim that Alicent was her own daughter. Or he just said that Alicent was his bastard daughter with some peasant girl.

Love it. Next time you talk with Preston bring this up, it clears up the huge plot hole in his genetics of dragons and war series regarding Alicents sons being dragon riders

I thought of that immediately too. The only issue I still have is how could Addam Velaryon ride a dragon? He could only have gotten a dragon X gene from his mother, but how could Marilda of Hull have had a dragon X gene?

@@floriancastle1590 Luck. Its said many times Targaryens and other lords had their way with their smallfolk (heck, even as seen in the Hulls situation with Corlys), caught a random Targaryen/Velaryon dragon riding gene. His brother didn't.

Rhaenyra traded an absurdly overmatch advantage to her half brothers side for sake of some uncle fucking. Remember, she had Vhagar and another dragon on her side before the Velaryon Brother and Sister kicked it.

Weather or not you agree with Aegon the fact remains that it was her who was supposed to inherit the throne, King Viserys said that often. Aegon simply had no right to it and was put there by a Knight who rather than serving the realm, decided to use a personal issue of his to put a usurper in the throne. The whole disaster was started by the greens to begin with, and had they acted with some desency, none of that would have happened...No dead Targaryens, no dead dragons, no dead lords and no dead smallfolk. King Viserys was very explicit with his intencions, so he can't be blamed.

@@Whosaskin The disaster was started by Viserys who foolishly decided to name his daughter as Successor when by all right his son and even his brother Daemon should’ve super-ceded her. It’s even weirder that he decided to go through with this when the Great Council which confirmed a son comes before a daughter is exactly what put him on the throne in the first place.

I love it! Great analysis. The Hightowers have so many connections to Lys - the Rogares were very present around the time of the Dance, Lynesse in the current story. It would completely make sense for them to ship her off to Lys.

@@e22ddie46if the books and show were accurate, the Targs should have been depicted as malformed ugly abominations (due to multiple generations of SIBLING INCEST). Also, engaging in this shit for so long would/should result in sterility/infertility among their descendants. People assume that Mirri Maaz Duhr's magic screwed up Dany's childbirth? Nah, I call bull. I think she is infertile cause her parents AND grandparents (Jaehaerys/Shaera) were siblings.

I believe that Illyrio's Serra is definitely a descendant of Saera Targaryen. I also believe that young Griff is probably descendant of Illyrio's Serra

i meant to comment the other day, but i think i forgot. i was multitasking, but im pretty sure i heard your hypothesis at the end. and my initial instinct was that i both dug it and loved it. at the time, i remember thinking of some expansion to it, but i cant recall anymore since my memory only last about 4 hours (and i watched this a day or two ago) the feeling of developing a solid, novel theory is awesome. so im imagining that y'all feel sky high right now; if not, you should. if i ever research this, think about it, hop on your train, and mention it in a video, ill be sure to give y'all a shoutout #myhatsoff

thank you good ser! when i presented the idea to dave, i thought he was going to think i was bonkers, but he goes, “you’re a genius.” hahaa so we decided to make a video on it. we have more that needs to be discussed, which will be in part 2, but thanks so much for the kind words! no one ever says anything nice to other creators in this “community” of ours, but boy do they love throwing shade. it’s like they all operate with the mantra, “if you don’t have anything mean to say, don’t say anything at all.” which is the opposite of the way i think and was taught, but people always tell me i’m too nice. anyway, i can’t thank you enough!💕😊😊

Love this! It makes lots of sense. I thought it was strange that GRRM changed the family tree around. I was thinking that Gael might be a bastard child from the north, but the timeline didn't seem to fit. This fits nicely though!

Unless GRRM changed his mind about Alicient's age, this timeline doesn't match. Alicient is born in 88 AC, because she was 18 when she married Viserys in 106 AC. There is some confusion about her age though, if she was 15 when she came to court in 101 AC, she would have been 20 when she married, not 18. So here we have conflicting records.

That’s exactly what George did. Baelon died in 101 and was replaced as Hand by Otto Hightower, who brought his 15 year old daughter to court with him

Magick is simple, working with entities. Invocations, spells and the rest. The idea of a force that knows no right and wrong is ludicrous. And different magics, like sigil magick, chaos magick and sex magick in the present day are almost all Crowley related.

Your videos are so well thought out and present a superior understanding of A Song of Ice and Fire. It "seems" the dispute related to A Dance of Dragons extended back to Saera and Alicent Targaryen's sibling rivalry. This explains the changing of the order of births of Jaehaerys' 13 children. This all hinges on the supposition that Alicent was Saera's daughter. Since Saera was nowhere to be found after a long and thorough search, then it is quite possible she was hiding in Otto Hightower's domain the whole time. Alicent looked so similar to Saera, that toward the end even Jaehaerys confused Alicent for Saera. Thank you for explaining this.

My new favorite targeryan the oldest daughter. I like that she is described as strong willed and kind of Tom boyish without following the trope of her being a lesbian or kind of A sexual or not really interested in boys. Instead she is written as an extremely sexual character and I love how unlike most women seem to meekly submit to sex with their husbands her moans of pleasure can be heard all over the castle. She is a very well written character

Even when I disagree I still appreciate the work you put into it. So much better than others,, channels that give me what I already know or absurdly spend their time endeavoring to prove that there is no magic in ASOIAF.

My two favorite channels in one : ) A little off topic, but I would love to hear his take on your Shae = Sarella GLARINGLY OBVIOUS theory. I really think you guys nailed that one, and it seems to be the least talked about but most plausible theory when it comes to Dornish revenge on the Lannisters. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This explains why Alicent was so keen for her son to succeed- she saw it as their birthright through her own lineage as well as theirs. I feel that Saera was slandered. Her character is written as evil but Viserra was even worse. It seems like the maester who wrote the text deliberately glorified Jaehaerys so had t play down his abuse of Saera by making Saera the villain.

True Men of that age didn't understand women's choice it is ok for boys or lads to act like that but girls of 17 of age admonition. Viserra didn't gave away her maiden head but bait them for it. Saera did. Viserra was still a virgin but she knew she way too beautiful.

So I found your channel from your podcast with Preston and the other guy. I read the books cover to cover twice over a summer, and since then i've read them all again, listened to the audible books 5 times. Suffice it to say I love theories about the unexplained parts of the books. The major theme I came away with was that the Children of the Forest are the bad guys.

I'm beginning to wonder what the Hightower's place is in the war to come. The Reach is opposed to Dorne but Hightower has the Citadel and the Starry Sept. To me, the Hightowers look like unwitting, brainwashed pawns but they are definitely aware of the existence of magic and their Lord has been acting odd recently. So I'm not certain what to think.

I agree with you on this... and I think they miscast Alicent in HoD. They should have made sure that she looked just like Saera... "the seeds of the Dance were sown a half century prior". I think you are right on the nose with this. Infiltration rather than head to head conflict makes a whole lot of sense, especially in hind sight.

If, and that is a mighty big IF, this were the truth of the matter, it truly does add another wrinkle to Alicent Hightower. Alicent is one of the few characters I absolutely loathe everytime they show up alongside Aegon II, Baelor the Blessed, Viserys of the Golden Crown, Caitlyn Stark and the High Douchebag err. . . Sparrow. There are a number of characters who are loathsome but interesting to read. Those listed above are just rage inducing jacka$$es of the highest order.

Good Queen Alyssane . haha yeah right. She was a wonderful mother to the realm to her first few kids. But then she kept having kids and kids and ignoring some of them. And then feel depressed when they die one day. Lesson to learn: Never have many kids. with those we have be it a commoner or a ruler, kids must always be loved and guided atleast until they come of age they could do on their own

@@TheOrderoftheGreenhand i mean lets be real their kids have huge age gaps. by the time they had 2 kids one was already old enough to be on his own. so they couldve easily taken care of the younger kids cause all 13 werent year apart. but very much apart. why they failed as parents is confusing. i guess the simple answer is , Martin makes sure every character he writes is a gray one. So this is jaeherys and alysannes gray area. Plus i think only 2-3 of their 13 kids had dragons..... excluding the ones who died in infancy. very sad.

Claiming Alicent to be Saera's daughter is quite the stretch. The book does not state that she looks like Saera and your videofor some reason showcases her having blonde/silver hair, where in truth she has brown hair. Also, Alicent was born in 88 AC. Saera fled Oldtown in 85 AC and never came back to the seven kingdoms. There's just no way Alicent is a secret Targaryen.
