This really makes me respect Emilia Clarke as an actress. Her being able to speak MULTIPLE languages that do not exist and execute them perfectly whilst pulling off her scenes is beyond me. The scene in 08x06 when she’s giving a speech to the Dothraki and the Unsullied gave me chills. Her being able to interchange between 3 languages, Westerosi, Valyrian, and Dothraki shows how much talent she had. And the fact that she spoke all 3 FLUENTLY without pausing in 1 scene is ridiculous

It helps understand other language structures and makes it easier to learn because language has specific patterns and rules for irregular verbs. I personally love it and many linguists are polyglot. Ive studied over 5 languages and I wish to learn more. The only downside to the degree, if you live in the states, is there isnt much of a market for linguists unless you plan to become a teacher/professor, translator, interpreter. Most other jobs like editing, copywriting, or journalism require you have an english, marketing or journalism degree. So having a second degree to back your first would help tremendously.

just came back to this after the more extensive+casual use of Valyrian in HotD - Millie’s “Dracarys” is perfect AND the difference with the 150+ year old accent compared to time setting in GoT is felt and appreciated… the lil details make a show which is why HotD is amazing. Thanks GRRM!!!
