Tyrion's face when he saw a dragon for the first time is priceless

I really like the difference in their reactions. Jorah is impressed by the sight of Drogon being bigger than last he saw him but Tyrion is shocked and in awe.

Imagine if Jorah called out to Drogon... Jorah: "Drogon! Drogon it's me!" Drogon: "DRAAAWWWRAAAH" (hugs)

I think this is my favorite scene in the show to date. You can just about hear Tyrion's heart stop beating for a minute as he tries to make sense of what he's seeing. All those years believing dragons were gone, just to see something so spectacular right before his eyes - a dream come true for him. And no doubt he will realize that the wars in the West are all so futile, all the legends he has read about over the years are indeed not just legends, and the world is much more wondrous than one might believe living in the bleakness of Westeros. Meanwhile Jorah looks-on in amazement of how Drogon has grown, maybe symbolic of his own interest in Daenerys: stronger than ever yet so distant. A sign that they're slowly getting closer, yet a sign that they have much more to go. And what happens at the end of the path? Will he be welcome? I just wish they had given that moment some time to breathe. The stone men jumped in so quick and cheapened it quite a bit for me. The battle was certainly interesting, but suddenly it was as if there hadn't been a dragon that flew-by; not even so much as a mention of it once they were beached. Still, an excellent performance on behalf of both actors and a beautifully shot scene.

I am obsessed with the theme that plays when Drogon flies over.

Not many people have idea how special this scene was. Until them, I believe, it was never mentioned how Tyrions loved dragon stories and wanted one since his childhood. His love for reading much probably came from the curiosity of such feral beasts. There is a whole chapter in book 1 where we learn about his love for dragons. And then his face when he finally sees one... Wow. The acting and the song were amazing.

I could watch a whole film of these two travelling together, their scenes together are flawless!

This is my favorite Tyrion scene in the entire series. At this point, he's given up completely on life. He doesn't care if he dies, but then he sees Drogon. The stories of his childhood come to life right above him. IMMEDIATELY after this, he's faced with a life or death decision from the Stonemen and he chooses life. It's such a great and important scene.

This once great series suffered the same fate as Old Valyria

That song that plays when Drogon appears... >deep sigh< a very short, yet very beautiful scene. Reminds me why this is a fantasy world. The mystery, the unknown, the unexplored, the abandoned, the ancient... and the legend. The legend that flies high in the sky. :)

I remember from season 1 where Tyrion tells Jon the stories about Dragons and how they are a myth now. Seeing his facial expression towards the Dragon flying above them was a joy to watch, it gave me goosebumps. Tyrion now believes of their existence and the setting is amazing, i really love how they captured Valyria in its ruins. Still looking beautiful after all those years, i hope we get to see more of this and do you guys think this Dragon has been going around but returning to this one place all along? Could he have discovered something and found his original home as a new place to stay? I really like the history of the Dragons and their origins.

Nice attention to detail, at 1:58 if you look real closely you can spot a dozen of the stonemen waiting in ambush on the aqueduct like structure. Another can be seen at 2:09 when the dragon is flying in.

This is my favorite scene of the whole series. It captures everything that made GoT great. Two complex and believable characters, each acting in accordance with their values. Values we know they have because on screen they have demonstrated them in word and deed. They are both adversaries and friends, with a shared culture and history. they don't hate each other, they don't like each other, but the respect they share for a moment in this scene is palpable. and then the history, they way we get a taste of somethin that everyone in that world knows, there was a terrible doom that consumed an entire empires in a single day, and no one knows why. A silent reminder that all things end. And then the dragon, a beast from myth returns. Tyrion's surprise and wonder, Mormot's awe and love. Its just so good. Reply

rewatching this scene is both eerie and wonderous knowing what happens immediately after this scene ends prompts one to search the scenery for the Stone Men and, once you find them, the entire vibe of the boat-ride in changes.

We went from this level of writing to "she is my queen".

This is truly one of the most beautiful scenes in the history of television. Tyrion had always wanted to see the dragons heck even wanted to own one since he was a child, this was dream coming true for him. It was a special moment.

This is one of my favourite scenes in the entire show. Tyrion & Jorah - their backstories and connections and lived experiences that brought them to this very moment.. The poetry. Drogon flying majestically over the Ruins of Valyria. It was just marvellous. Despite everything that happened with this show, these 2 minutes were absolutely beautiful.

It's interesting that as Jorah and Tyrion travel into the ruins of the past, and Tyrion says "this is what remains," Drogon flies past them in the opposite direction. I always interpreted this as a foreshadowing of dragons (and House Targaryen) reclaiming the future.

Might well be my favorite scene in the entire series.

This scene has a somber but post apocalyptic nostalgia to it and the music really just brings it all together. Like the dragon flys by to say we roamed here once and we existed.

One of my favorite scenes from the series. The way the dragon flies silently without a roar makes this scene even better. I am glad the director didn't fall for the urge to include a much expected cinematic roar as it flew by.

Favorite scene of the season so far. Wish they spent more time showing the ruins, fascinating architecture, made me think of ancient temples in Thailand.

I hope we see Varys again this season, he's one of my favourite characters...... hopefully he'll still go to mereen!

I like more the face he putted right after this last shot, when the stoneman jumped into water. Was of lament like "We are all insects with regard that". This one is emotive because we know Tyrion is the smartest charachter in the show, a good literary man that surely knows a lot about dragons and that never thought will see one for real.

Ok cmon That has to be freaking awesome to see a Dragon just fly over, and the sounds of the wings makes it so much more amazing.

Well prepared scene. The whole environment is to make Drogon's appearence more impressive. Actually, looking back it is very interesting for me how much this scene has a "western people in southeast Asia" vibe. It is just like "two Dutch sailors visit India, Thailand and Komodo for the first time and get schocked by Komodo dragons, crocodiles, elephants etc.

How they took a drama, so poetically written and executed, and turned it into a hot mess like a soap opera in Season 8, is still beyond me after all these years.

But is that Drogon? There is reason to believe that there is another dragon out there that will make an appearance in the final episodes.

Tyrions face when he saw the Dragon was awesome, but his face when the viper died was even better and funnier.

oh my.....this is by far the best scene !OMG i got so deep . First of all the soundtrack . Had to replay it 7 times. And now drogon is said to be balerion reborn. Balerion was a dragon of valyria and drogon was missing from meereen for weeks. So he is attached to valyria and he passes time here. OMG ! And then Tyrion saw a dragon first time in his life!! We all know how obsessed he is with the stories of dragons and how he always wanted to ride one. THIS SCENE IS PERFECTION!!!!! 😭😭 AND Ramin Djawadi ......he is a genius!

I wonder if the stone men were just about to attack, until they saw Drogon to, and they as well stood there in shock just like Tyrion, until they finally recovered and launched their attack.

I thought Valyria was full with lava and the sea was smoking and boiling hot even to the present day.
