I think this scene really helped us hate Dany even more. Her character development and Jaime's are the opposite. We hated Jaime and grew to love him. We loved Daenerys and we started to hate her as she became more like her father.

I'll have to look it up but there is this gel like substance that they coat these stuntman in and you can be set on fire completely without actually being in any danger. There's a time limit however so they have to be put out within either several seconds or minutes but basically the fire can't penetrate the gel so there's a coating of protection between the person and the fire. It happens ALL the time in all kinds of shows and movies.

Every single time someone is set on fire in got, they set a real person on fire to film it. Tons of safety precautions first though of course. Nobody has gotten hurt, GoT has a ton more practical effects than people think.
