Sopranos is better but has different pacing and hits different vibe. Something like game of thrones is unable to replicate you are right

​@@YouScareMe1 I can’t speak for them, however Season 5 is where the writers wanted to make GoT their own story and started ignoring book 4 and book 5. That in itself does not have to be a bad thing, however they truly failed with certain characters and stories even only within the context of the show. The Dorne storyline did not introduce any remotely compelling characters. They were all one dimensional, and somehow Ellaria and the Sandsnakes tried to avenge Oberyn by killing his entire family, which doesn't make sense at all. Oberyn literally died avenging his own blood. In addition Jaime's character was very stagnant, so was Tyrion's (in Season 5 and 6). Sansa's plot was just straight up awful, absolutely nothing that happened helped further her character development. Just suddenly from Season 6 on she is all politically savvy although she was just basically locked in a cage throughout all of Season 5? Feels unrealistic. Arya's facelessmen arc was also incredibly illogical so many times, she just has insane plot armor and is uselessly being beaten by her mentors all the time, so the Faceless Men just seem ridiculous compared to their book counterpart. Then she assassinates an entire house and the show narrative treats her like a hero for it. Nobody questions it although many of the Freys were not complicit in the Red Wedding and it was a bigger house after all. Then Cersei doesn't face any consequences for blowing up the Sept which is a religious centre in Westeros + she also killed many important people in there. The episode was amazing and Cersei's character was at least somewhat well written compared to many other characters, but well the aftermath was kind of not there. At least Margaery was a consistently great character. Brienne is just poorly written in my opinion. I could go into detail but I don't wanna make it too long. If you wanna know more, especially how things are handled in the books, let me know
