the 20 questions this episode is really funny, i got second-hand excitement and yelled the answer since Tina doubted her answer. Of course, there's also Sam who knows it's originally released on the PS4 but forgot to mention the game till the very last question.

Missed opportunity not having the 20 Questions be a Nintendo 64 game.

I’m 37 and I’m sort a of a weird case of being as informed as a lifelong gamer but in actual hours of games played I’m often verrrrry low compared to a lot of people. The last 10 years I’ve spent more time learning about games than playing them. I would say I’m a classic gamer as I tend to just play older games or games that are pretty retro in style. I’m a weird niche gamer.. I can spend 120h playing Tropico 6 or buy Bravely Default 2 the day it comes out because oldschool jrpgs are amazing, or have Fire Emblem Fates as my next game to play for the last year but always end up playing a shorter, older game before. I love strategy, oldschool turn based jrpg, some kinds of sims, oldschool rts… I buy 15-20 games a year on steam sales, I buy 6-7 games on Nintendo consoles a year (I never liked Sony and Microsoft games) yet I play and finish maybe just 4-5 new games a year (because I keep playing old games). Also, of all those games, almost none are ever AAA games. Like of ALL the big games you talked about having received 9 and 10s, NONE are even remotely interesting to me..

I always enjoy it when one of their cats makes an appearance 😻

Lifelong gamer since I can remember

the "gamer" classifications were interesting. I'm 51. so, I guess I don't count anymore, except when it comes to what I spend my money on I guess :-) I started gaming in the very late 1970s I've been most of the 6 categories they described, sometimes more into it, sometime not as much, but always a little. Right now, I'm not any of those though. I buy way more games than I have time to play, so I guess I'm a bit of a collector, but I still play something most days, but I like to complain a bit about back in my day :-) So, I'm not sure where that puts me. and I'm ok with that. I like to stay current, but also love some of the oldies. Nicely Job Omega Cops

That IGN study was really interesting and some of the results were direct hits on me. I’m also in a. Nielsen household and I can confirm they listen in to what I’m watching and listening to on the radio. Supposedly, I represent 50,000 people in my area so I kinda feel like some of the shows I watch are being kept alive because of me. Though the one show I actually did try to save (The Purge) was canceled anyway.

Last of Us was a ps3 game, and though there is a ps4 remaster, once we got past infected and no giraffes, TLOU 2 was undoubtedly the answer, and Daemon saved the win with the Jeopardy question, "Your answer is The Last of Us?". 😂 Thank you, Daemon!

i know i may be alone here but my favorite game of the year so far is cyberpunk2077. im pretty sure it is eligible since it came out in december and missed the window last year. poured hundreds of hours in it so far, buggy and all.

I liked Tina's Left Behind joke even if everyone else ignored it

I love Monkey Ball and played 1 and 2 all the time on Gamecube (though I wouldn't say I'm great). The main game feels good, but it isn't the same. The minigames, however, are just not the same at all from the 5 or 6 I've been able to try. I know they had to rebuild the game in a new engine, but this is the first time I've played this kind of remake where it doesn't feel like the original and it's a strange feeling. It feels more like playing the Mario 64 levels in Galaxy where it looks great, but it just isn't the same. It's hard to be objective when my brain expects things to function differently (particularly the minigames). Maybe the Tony Hawk and Mass Effect remakes just spoiled me.

Love the show. One thing I vehemently disagree with it the 'Gamer' tag being unique to gaming. People absolutely first and foremost ID themselves as music-lover or film-buff.

I figured it the moment Damon said it's his favourite game of all time on ps4. It's so obvious. And 2nd if this game is his favourite game of all time apparently he hasn't played alot of games.

Microsoft is showing the improvements made lately with the right people in place making the right decisions along with the studio purchases paying off, not to say they’re doing everything right but they’re certainly doing the most consumer friendly things. Gamepass is a stupid good value, being available across last gen, current gen and PC at the same time. It’s got a good selection of current and older third party games on top of all first party games both new and old, down to day one first party games for which they’re getting more and more studios in house like Bethesda. It’s like the video game Netflix in its quality. Halo coming out this December with a real lack of AAA games for the holidays this year is smart, being available on Gamepass for the campaign which looks very interesting and a totally free to play MP on console and PC will boost player numbers for sure. The MP tech preview has been great so I am excited for the final release. It’s still a work in progress for Microsoft turning things around, but it’s becoming apparent that they’re actually doing it and I can’t wait to see what comes next from the big three, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft competing is always a good thing for us as they drive each other to do better and improve. Long live capitalism! 😉👍🏻

As a member of generation x I think I know why the gamer study didn't cover my age range. Damon mentions that it would be very interesting to advertisers. The study says that older gamers are more likely to intelligently research before making a purchase and less likely to be influenced by advertising. This trend would likely carry on into the over 40s to which I can attest and therefore make us less attractive to advertisers and therefore less valuable to study.

LONG COMMENT ABOUT CASTLEVANIA ADVANCE COLLECTION: *Basic reading level required. May be a 2 minute investment of time. You have been warned. I originally didn't want to play all the Castle of the Moon Gameboy Advance Games but I picked up the collection day 1 and decided to start with Circle of the Moon which I'm probably half done with now. I've really been cheesing the save states but it makes it way more portable and convenient. I always find spots to heal and recharge magic without enemies if I don't know where a save spot is or I'm far away. Anyways after I beat it I'm going to Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow which is what I'm most looking forward to. I loved all the DS games and played very little of these GBA titles but always knew they were quality games. I think Circle of the Moon gets a bad rap because of the launch and the dark screen but it looks, sounds, and plays excellently. It really holds up with that 16 bit style artwork and I think Aria of Sorrow looks fantastic though Harmony is alright and a bit of a limbo. I'd say Harmony is the one I'm least looking forward to surprisingly. I thought I'd just start with Circle of the Moon to try it out and I got sucked in and I'm loving it. Just defeated the Zombie Dragons and am working on a luck build. The main problem with building your character around luck is you have to grind for luck items before you can really stack your luck to get card and item drops up. I watched a documentary about the entire series of Castlevania on KZfaq last night and it made me appreciate the GBA games more. Back when I had the GBA I was a Metroid boy. I liked Zero Mission the most and didn't know it was a remake until years later but it was cool to unlock NES Metroid on that game. I wish Fusion got a port or remake for Switch. Anyways I was thinking of playing Luigi's Mansion 3 this October but it just didn't click with me last time I played so maybe October 2022 I'll be up to the task. This year it's all Castlevania and Bloodstained and all Metroidvania likes. I'm aiming to beat Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow all this October. I got a head start when the collection dropped and I'll most likely skip Dracula X. Curse of the Moon was great for Switch and I'm almost done with Curse of the Moon 2 before I get into either Resident Evil Revelations (first time playing on console) OR Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. TLDR: I'm playing a lot of Castlevania games for October trying to beat the GBA titles before the end of the month. Really hyped for Metroid Dread and playing all the Metroidvania's I can get my hands on. Still haven't beat Hollow Knight which I still plan on doing when we get a release date for Silk Song.

I personally fall into the hardcore gamers segment of the millennial group. I generally try to stay vigilant of new games that are announced like Atomic Heart or Stalker 2.

Well Scoop crew I’m 55 years old , married , have 6 kids and 5 grandchildren. I have an Xbox series X and S. I also have had every Nintendo console ever made and still have them. I preordered the Switch OLED and can’t wait for it to come this week. I probably spend way to much money on games and accessories but it is what it is. My wife thinks I’m crazy but she’s alright with it. I also have $10,000 in Legos , our family room down stars looks like a retro GameStop and Lego store. Deathloop & Returnal are the only GotY contenders I've come across this year, & with Dying Light 2 & Horizon Forbidden West off the 2021 slate, not sure if anything will de-crown Deathloop for me. But, only time will tell. The Ascent, Devil's Door, Psychonauts 2, & Lemnis Gate have been super Indie games.

Who in the world gave deathloop a 10/10? All I’ve heard is how average it is and how it doesn’t live up to its predecessors.
