This is a quick overview of some retail Gameboy clones available that utilises the Raspberry Pi. They have various performance but definitely an interesting look at what a raspberry Pi GameBoy clone looks like

I think you missed one. The RetroFlag GPi Case 2W is very different than the GPi Case 2 that you covered. The RetroFlag GPi Case 2W is for the RPi Zero 2W. Like the original GPi case, the Zero 2W goes into its own custom "game" case that slides into the back. The RPi Zero 2 (and 2W) are far more powerful than the original Zero, a bit closer to the 3B in terms of performance (not the same, but similar). So it can handle more demanding retro consoles than the original Zero.

i have far to many pi gameboys but i dont really use them as much these days as i have more powerful toys for gaming.great video!

Great video, Mike. I wanted one when they were launched about 4 years ago but got an Anbernic RG350 for cheaper instead. Maybe the Pi 5 could be powerful enough to see a new crop of such devices?

Nice! The RG350 is a great handheld. Ye, the Pi5 is really powerful and can play a lot more than the Pi3 and Pi4. Think it comes down to cost. I think what would be good is, if these Gameboy clones had the ability to easily upgrade your Pi and just swap out a newer version

I'm not even looking for the asthetic, I just want something like the XRS but with actual widescreen and fitting a whole pi inside. Most projects are running on CM4, they want to keep things super small. I don't care that much for size, I just want a good format. Sadly, Experimental Pi had a great project but went under and we have no news about anything.

Oh wow, I did not realise they went under. Thats sad to hear. Pi handhelds are dwindling really quickly due to other handhelds on the market.
