11:44 Man, F them! 😂 How you play should be how you see fit, not what others believe you should play a game. There’s no rule either, if you want to play on a portable handheld, do it. It’s incredible that we have devices like this, that pack enough power in a small handheld allowing us to play big AAA titles to indies ad ofc emulators like RCPS3. I’m looking into these PC handhelds. Reason being was because I forgotten how great it is to use a portable handheld. I’m not trying to get into PC as my main platform since my online buds don’t wanna jump ship from PS5 so I resorted to looking into these PC handhelds. This just might be the one but while I do have the money to blow, ehhh I don’t know how to feel about spending $800+ on this. At that point I might as well look into building a PC but I want a PC handheld 🤔

Lol for sure, play how you like! Ye, i've always wanted a portable gaming machine that does everything! But as you say, at an extortionate price, it's definitely something you need to think twice about.But for those that want a similar experience thats not gunna totally destroy your bank account, i'd say start with a Steam Deck; they're always dropping in price, its a lot more available and its less than half the price of the GPD, granted its bigger, but definitely something to start off with

i gotta do this soon

As someone who bought the original Gpd win back in the day for its portability, I'm really glad that the company have also kept gamers wanting form factor in mind because the other handheld gaming PC's are simply too huge for my liking. To this day I still can't believe how sharp the little 720p screen looks on that machine I have and given that the 4 is only half an inch bigger I don't doubt that 720p will still look good on that size, and the added ability to go 1080p will come in very handy for some of the older games that will still run really smoothly. Very tempted to grab one of these for the sheer amount of power it has for something that could fit into my pocket. Definitely could see myself playing Crusader Kings, Dead Rising, modded Fallouts and Elder Scrolls on it and a bunch of other games from the last 5 or so generations as well as emulators. That kickstand was also a very nice touch. Well done!

only mistake was the 6 button layout. Modern games, modern fighting games, require 8

I'm not even looking for the asthetic, I just want something like the XRS but with actual widescreen and fitting a whole pi inside. Most projects are running on CM4, they want to keep things super small. I don't care that much for size, I just want a good format. Sadly, Experimental Pi had a great project but went under and we have no news about anything.
@mikeys_youtube_makes28 күн бұрын
Oh wow, I did not realise they went under. Thats sad to hear. Pi handhelds are dwindling really quickly due to other handhelds on the market.

Do you have links or names to the tools used besides the Screwdriver. Dont want to use some DIY Pry Tool and Mess Up when Opening It.
@mikeys_youtube_makes28 күн бұрын
Honestly, all you really need is a pick and a screwdriver set. There's nothing really special about the pry tools I use. I mainly collect them from buying replacement screens from phones and they bundle in some pry tools

I have a feeling that they tell you the prints are not up to snuff, which I’ve seen with other sponsors, is so they don’t have to have liability or accept refunds

PCB way supporting smaller channels that provide REALLY GOOD content is smart. I've never considered buying anything from PCB way until I was totally inspired by this video. Subbed and PCB way has a new customer.

Hhhhmmm, hard to say. But just make sure the usb stick is formatted. Also double check the SSD is working . Have you tried putting it in another pc to see if it's recognised?

@mikeys_youtube_makes2 ай бұрын
I didn't. I actually prefer doing fresh installs each time I format my SSD. Same goes with my phone. I do actually enjoy installing things and making things new and 'neat'. Is there any benefits from cloning your SSD? Apart from time obviously.

Thank you for the visual!!! We just built this and it was huge help! We did notice that every time we turn it on, the audio module heats up and is very hot to touch. Is that normal (and safe?) or did we mess something up?
@mikeys_youtube_makes3 ай бұрын
Ye that does sound concerning. Maybe take it apart, switch it on. And see what parts that's heating up . Maybe it's one of the chips that's faulty and not grounded etc. if you have another audio module, maybe try and replace it and see whether it makes any difference

Yes this is really great, great video :) I have an idea for you, imagine if on the top there were two usbc ports, and a short usb lead connecting the two ports. Also two hdmi ports, also with short hdmi lead connecting them together. The cables could be braided and nicely coloured, so it would look like a little patch board. You may have guessed where this is going, you can use the ports to connect to lunch boxes together for multiplayer fun :)

Great video, Mike. I wanted one when they were launched about 4 years ago but got an Anbernic RG350 for cheaper instead. Maybe the Pi 5 could be powerful enough to see a new crop of such devices?
@mikeys_youtube_makes3 ай бұрын
Nice! The RG350 is a great handheld. Ye, the Pi5 is really powerful and can play a lot more than the Pi3 and Pi4. Think it comes down to cost. I think what would be good is, if these Gameboy clones had the ability to easily upgrade your Pi and just swap out a newer version

The episode for the yes no button has me feeling lie I’m not alone in thins world. They missed the word “peer pressure” where are you feel conflicted enough to the point where you feel like if you say no something bad is going to happen or you feel like you’re going to disappoint the person, and if you’re a people pleaser like me or bingo, it’s really hard to just say what feels right or wrong for you when the only thing you can physically say without feeling like you’re going to disappoint someone is yes or just agreeing with someone to avoid conflict when really you want to say no so badly but you can’t muster up enough courage or you can’t push yourself enough to say it because you feel like your opinion isn’t valid enough to be said. Sorry for the rant :3 Just needed someone to talk to Even if no one is actually going to see this :3
@mikeys_youtube_makes3 ай бұрын
I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes its easier to go with what they say and not be in disagreement and have conflict. And the only person that your putting pressure on, is yourself. Rant away! its good and important to talk :)
