@@apgamer4053 no, you forget, bugs are features, not flaws. if you don't like them you are wrong not frontier (as far as they are concerned).. kind of like they reward grind with more grind to the point they attempt to drive their player base to suicide.

Guardian module reinforcements protect modules, as the name implies. Hull reinforcements give additional hull strength. Without module protection all modules including the canopy recieve full damage of anytihng that hits them. against tougher thargoids this will have your ship basically useless real quick. One module reinforcement gives 60 percent protection against all module damage, 2 gives 84 percent protection and 3 gives over 90 percent protection (iirc it is 95 percent but cant remember the exact number) - basically meaning only the module reinforcements themselves take damage and need repairs instead of using a ton of AFMU on 20 other modules. Guardian ones just have higher integrity so last longer under fire before needing repair. You must od what you feel is right of course :) but i wont be removing mine

I just did my first thargoids today. I normally fly with Joystick, but I find aiming those rails easier with mouse with 100% relative mouse on when doing FA OFF. No Hotas needed. The ship I took was the standard shielded Chieftain from AXI website s.orbis.zone/ej9x and www.antixenoinitiative.com/wiki/ship-builds . Additionally as I do not have guardian module reinforcements, I just used normal module reinforcements for those slots. First one was tough, but after that I got the hang of it (Cyclops only so far).

yeah i am not a big ship pilot - I would defiantely recommend using shields if you plan this yourself ;)

SR if taking on the swarm at close range yes because Flak doesnt spike heat so SR lets you use wayyyy less heatsinks than if under normal power. When in SR the goid targeting behaves like you are under heatisnk cover at any temperature - so even if your ship is cooking the goid cant target you correctly in SR. this means you only need to fire off a sink to avoid overheating rather than to stay below 20 percent heat. - otherwise heatsink usage is just normal cold orbiting - to avoid taking fire when firing gauss
