Very nostalgic. I recall like half of those- mainly because I wasn't a PC gamer. MW2 back in the day was addictive since it was the first time I got to play online in 2010. Those start screens were epic on consoles too. GTA4 was the one I played the most back then, and there was always that time where I would try to see how long I could hold off the cops. Good times, good times.

Great list! The loading music from the original World of Warcraft hits pretty hard for me. Biggest one NOT on the list was probably anything to do with Counterstrike...Getting the buy pattern down perfectly, knife kills, late nights just goofing around. I miss those days. As a side note, I'm a 7th grade science teacher, and one of my students just mentioned this website he found called Homestar Runner. It's funny how fast you become relevant to them when you can quote all the Strong Bad emails from 25 years ago 😅

I once spent an entire summer in the arcade. Well, when I wasn't at my summer job. Basically those two months consisted of only 3 phases for me. Work, sleep or arcade hall. One of the best summers of my teenage years. My friends went on vacations or tried to score dates and then there was me renting out gocarts, beach chairs and selling towels and living in the arcade hall when I didn't have to be at work. Playing games like Time CrisisI and II, Soul Calibur II, Mortal Kombat III, Crisis Zone and even some more classic games like Wonder Boy and Puzzle Bobble. Arcades are long gone now (at least where I live), but those memories will stay with me all my life. Real nostalgia trip, that is.

My friends and I logged THOUSANDS of hours messing around in Halo 1-3; alliances were made and destroyed in a single afternoon countless times. We were also huge into the Rock Band series - I was terrible at guitar, but good at drums, so it all worked out. We'd also challenge each other to sing as well as play an instrument (it never went well).

What was good with games in 2000 was that it connected people, you wouldn't play just for the game but for the people you would play with. No matter how complicated or high def a game is today it's just an empty shell with all these toxic players. I remember back in 2014-2015 when GuildWars2 released i played it with some people who i befriended in game and we ended up playing the game just so we can talk to each other, didnt matter what we did in game as long as we would have fun.

Never mind flash games, we had Quake 3 and Runescape installed on hidden folders in my school. When I was in my web design classes the teacher would just knowingly let us play Quake when he had no work for us. Also worth mentioning that Homestar Runner is still making videos, usually like 2-5 a year. There's probably going to be one soon because they always do a Halloween episode.

We had a small secluded room in the library where we played Brutal Doom. Most teachers usually turned a blind eye as long as we were quiet and didn't get the juniors involved. It took one kid to blab his mouth and spread it. Next thing we know, one of the stricter librarians found a crowd of Year 8s yelling and massacring each other out in the open, and policies on computer use during breaks was tightened. Naturally, we flipped the school the bird by playing Cards Against Humanity out in the open and the Year 9's learned some interesting new phrases.

One of my favourite quotes from any game is "We bring order to the chaos of organic evolution. You exist because we allow it. You will end because we demand it.". No voice sends chills down my spine like Sovereign's did. Just behind it is a speech at the end of the Eviction mission in Call Of Duty: World At War. You're manning a machine gun on a Soviet tank driving through a street of fleeing German soldiers when the commissar announces "Citizens of Berlin! A ring of steel surrounds your rotten city. Abandon your posts. Abandon your homes. Abandon all hope.", then it fades to black.

Surprised they acknowledge the Alliance's existence without mentioning "P***shire". Barrens had the chat channels, Goldshire had the Night Elf strippers.

I still have a PS2 hooked up to my TV that I played Vice City on when it came out.. that I rented from Blockbuster lol. I remember racing my friend on Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition on the PSP in the bathroom I’m 8th grade, while someone was outside keeping a lookout 😭😭 so many memories. No matter how many times you tell yourself not to take times in your life for granted, you’re really never understand it until they’re gone. Another amazing video; thank you guys.

I’m not sure if this was a thing In other countries, but in Brazil we had a place called Lan Houses, where dozens of PCs were connected on lan and you could play any game (that was installed on those pc). We played Counter Strike, Battlefield 1942, Unreal Tournament, etc, against random people that were in that same place as you (because it was on lan). The smell of cheetos and hair grease plus 2L of coke while you play the corujão (overnight) in the lan houses were priceless. You had to pay per hour though….. Computer were always expensive in Brazil so we could not afford to buy one for gaming, so we used to go on these Lan Houses. Playing online with early days DSLs or even with dial up internet was terrible, so playing on Lan was a HUGE thing in Brazil in the early 2000s

Also hanging around in PS Home. I remember doing that a lot, before it taught me the volatility of digital goods, and not to fall for the 'buy a digital house and clothes' thing, that some people say would be 'the future', ever again. x3 RIP cat eyed dude with a fox tail and my apartment near the basketball court.

Oh god i remember the hype for the fallout 3 release. I was so excited and afraid to enter this new world that I would have these incredible vivid dreams of vaults infested with rad roaches from the trailer. The first time i exited the vault into the blinding light will forever be etched into my memory.

My favorite gaming memory was seeing the unpopular but iconic Saints Row 1 intro, where you are walking down the street and Julius and Troy need to save you and then you get canonized. That right there was a memory that I will never forget.

I may not have grown up during the 2000s but at least I experienced number 1. my classmate and I would play various flash games (Whenever the wifi was on, which is rare in our comp lab) or play some of the card games like solitaire. even tho it was only a few years back, it was still nostalgic

I've been gaming since the 80s and 90s. I'm 50 years old and still gaming. Started in the arcades with pinball then on to an Atari 2600, then a NES, then the PCs finally caught up with the Pentium and Pentium 2 processors, playing games in DOS, and I've been on PC ever since. All of this video was like a wave of memories. I miss LAN parties for Doom, Wolfenstein, Warcraft, and Starcraft. Starcraft especially. I didn't like Guitar Hero, the controller sucked, but I've played the crap out of Rack Band. I still do sometimes. The opening to Halo was one of the most beautiful video I had seen at that time. Modern games tend to lack that little bit extra that games back then had

8:45 The Wii was hard to find during the holidays. In 2009, someone died after a radio contest on KDND "Hold your Wee for a Wii" after a contestant died after holding her pee for several hours. The contestants were also required to drink water periodically. The woman drank 2 gallons of water and died of intoxication after getting home. Not something to die over...

Number 6, 5 & 1 was definitely me. Playing the PS2 almost on the daily, having family time with Wii Sports, try to play games on PBS kids (only for my teacher to look at her monitor & tell me to turn it off.) & watching the intro for the first pro wrestling game I ever played, SmackDown vs. Raw. I lowkey miss these childhood days. 🥲
