Hi guys ! - Wanted to summarise the main points in a video for those of you thinking of getting the game hopefully this video helps you , as I say multiplayer is ok in this but its more of a gamepas game or something to buy if you only have a xbox and no PC.

As a single player, I feel absolutely betrayed by Micorsoft. I remember when Chris Esaki said months ago (in a Forza Monthly I think) that the career mode was something completely new and that he couldn't wait to tell us more. A few days later came the big disillusionment. The career structure? The same as in the previous games. Mastering tracks already existed before. They just expanded it and made an extra practice session out of it. I don't think the idea behind the upgrade system is bad. I just find it badly implemented. But if they wanted to, they could still save it. For example, using the brand affinity system from the older games, tying the car level to a specific brand or class rather than a single car. Oh yes. And the presentation is really stinking boring. In the past, it was nothing earth-shattering either. But at least there was the legendary Top Gear/Grand Tour trio, who told you something about the cars. That alone made a lot of difference to me.

To your point regarding the currently boring AI: They did say in an interview (forgot where, sorry) that the AI doesn't attack or defend yet and won't at launch but that this is something they may add at a later date. It's honestly baffling to me how that's something one can omit from their racing game at launch... like, imagine a shooter coming out and the devs are saying yeah, we'll make the AI shoot back in a later patch. But that's where we are.

I want another Project Cars 2 that's actually good.

Hopefully a few patches, 6+ months from now these things will be addressed. Marketing brainwashing got the best of us, unacceptable developers should be interviewed and summoned, glad I didn't buy it have no confidence in buying over hyped games these days

Man I see you as a vey good driver just like Jimmer but on both of your reviews the cars looks so crazy floaty, like somehow the wheel inputs are transformed into Dpad inputs then applied to the game. Its so weird, like an old racing game from the early 2000's

You're spot on with your review, I'm on PC and it's such a disappointment having waited years for this game. Performance is horrendous and so inconsistent, it's unplayable on my 3060ti. I've gone down the route of a refund, now likely to revisit ACC which i've not done in a long time.

Now we've got that over with, I eagerly awaiting GM's excitement over the new rF2 online beta which has Radicals in the default daily races. Great fun.

I was looking forward to this as my go to casual game to play with a controller, when I don't feel like getting behind the wheel to play a sim. So I guess I'll wait a bit for the next few updates and see how the game improves.

Reason number 1 you can tell this isn't a full sim: In 3 races GM didn't finish 7th once.

Thank you for the honest and true review. I thought I was on another planet with some reviewers saying the game, more importantly the physics, were excellent. I have been playing and quite disappointed and thought am I missing something? That's ok, it what it is and some will casually enjoy the game. Thanks again for the honest review.

For a product 6 years in the making, it is clearly underwhelming and loaded with bad producers/executive decisions...

i shilled out 99€ for this not expecting big things in terms of wheel feeling, but expected a polished product with great visuals and serviceable ffb. And i got none of that. Its an utter ridiculous product they put out there for PC. Its broken and rough around the edges in so many ways. Embarassing. And shame on me too for preordering.

For me the biggest issue is the ABYSMAL wheel support on PC for my Moza wheel. Considering Moza just recently released a wheel actually licensed for Xbox, it's pretty hilarious that said wheel isn't even a part of the officially supported wheel-bases with only the R9 making the cut. It has been such a chore getting my R5 to even be properly detected as the game seems to just completely forget my wheel settings every time I disconnect it from my pc. Just starting the game takes at least 5 tries to get the wheel to work and the UNSKIPPABLE tutorials makes the entire process excruciating. It's insane that they think menu navigation is so difficult for people in 2023 that they HAVE to make sure you can do it.

I'm thoroughly ejoying it. I really dont like AC, lighting is crap, and FFB is very much over done. A real car doesnt have FFB that emulates a bucking bronco. It's much more subtle.

This game seems to run like the people in the Oldsmobile race drives. Also the reason it looks so much worse than Forza Horizon 4 and 5 is because they switched from MSAA to TAA for their anti-aliasing which made the image significantly more blurry. You're actually better off using DLSS just so that you get the anti-aliasing from DLSS instead of their in-house TAA because its significantly better. The poor console people are stuck with the in-house TAA. But yeah Forza games and FH4 and FH5 used MSAA which is why they had that really nice super sharp image. Overall, this game is about the mid-to disappointing product I thought it would be. Another game which is soulless, unfinished at launch, attempts to be a "live service", and even the features that are there are broken in some way or just subpar. It's pretty bad when even the things they were making a fuss about in their own marketing are completely underwhelming.

Thank You for saving me some money. For me the single player is the most important part. Part of a quick game, is load and go, cars must have a workable base setup. Not interested in fiddling around with setups I want a quick driving game not a pit engineering game. Sounds like a honest opinion your word is good enough for me. Tks.

I'm REALLY glad I decided to doubt about buying the full price and give game pass version a try because I have my doubts about the singleplayer content, if it's worthwhile or not, does it replicate real racing in any way, etc. and I'm glad you said the words I need to hear. Now this game is game pass worthy only for me. :P

I think Multiplayer is the only way forward. For that jump in and race, for how much wheel sawing I have seen from many many KZfaqrs, I get the impression you might as well use a pad and just use the view from behind the car. If the physics are not right, pointless going all in. I shall see on the 10th as no way I was waisting 90 sheets on this.

Must admit I played forza motorsport 5 for a year and a half but since then have found 6/7 and horizons 3/4/5 completely boring. Maybe I have gone off racing games in recent years I played this on gamepass and was bored after an hour and a half, refunded gp after because I couldn’t find anything else to play 🤷🏻‍♂️.

The only reason I’d bother with GT would be to use the psvr2. VR would make me want to play about in here. But they won’t, and that’s fine, it’s not their bag, but it is mine.

I see a simcade I automatically dismiss regardless of its good or awful. Always go full sim such as ac or iracing. So, full sim or gtfo.

All I'm after is a great single player racing game - GT7 was extremely disappointing with the limited long term single player championships (like the earlier iterations), so im very disappointed Forza doesn't have a worthwhile single player portion either.

Im thankful for Forza Mororsport because it's the game that got me into sim racing. I think I'm going to eventually go to a different and more serious sim that values my time more.

Gran Turismo sport had more single player content. Let that sink in. So glad it was on gamepass because the single player offerings are straight up anorexic.

I’m enjoying it because all I expect from Forza is a controller friendly racing simulation… and for that it’s great. If you have $1000+ in a wheel/pedal setup you’re not going to love it.

The default setup on stock cars are also terrible. Stock cars don’t have adjustable alignments and their alignments are wrong. If you keep spinning in mid engine cars under braking that might be part of it.

I've never had the opportunity to play a Forza game before, so everything about it is fresh and exciting for me. Surprisingly, I find that playing with a controller is more enjoyable than using a steering wheel. As a dedicated sim racer with +1000 hours in AC/ACC/AMS2/iRacing, I feel a twinge of guilt, but I genuinely relish the multiplayer experience and the physics in Forza. It's fun! I agree that there are a few details, as you pointed out, that could use some improvement. I hope that future updates will address and refine these issues.

The latest FM is frustrating. It's locked up on me twice and crashed once in the first 3 days.

I loved Motorsport 7. I felt it had good handling and cars felt different enough that it was exciting to get another car. The handling on this game feels so wooden and horrible. And everything else is bland. I'm very disappointed as someone who had been hanging out for this game for so long.

You made me go and look at AC Evolutione.

Honestly miss the best tracks. Tsukuba, fujimi etc. it’s been a downhill series since it came to Xbox 1 when they started catering to normal casual players with hyping up graphics and all the super/HyperCard that normie casuals drool all over.

I was honestly shocked by how horrible this game was on PC. The last FM I played was 3 in like 2011 and it was legitimately a better game in almost every single aspect. What gets passed off as the latest and greatest nowadays is a joke.

As wheel user with a few thousand hours on fm7, and half that on fm6, this is easily the best one on a wheel yet. Took me a few hours to get used to not being able to full send, but it’s pretty damn good. As for online I’ve only driven the TCR races so far, but as an s rated driver around a 4800 skill rating, it’s also the cleanest forza racing I’ve ever had. That being said, the single player and ai races are 3 day old dog water. The ai is laughably bad.

Turn ray tracing off. That’s what’s causing the stutter. I’m on a 3080ti and a 5800x non 3d v-cache, at 4K. All settings max with rt off. No stutters. So it’s your settings. Also, set it to “unlocked/vsync”

I'm not saying the single player is great. But it is good to have a single player. AMS2, RF2 and ACC all have next to nothing for single player.

Physics/handling just feel off. Don’t feel anything like the outstanding Forza 3/4 physics. Graphics are disappointing on Series X, generally a step below GT7 and GT7 isn’t much of an upgrade over GT Sport.

Everyone keeps acting like current gen consoles aren't capable of 120hz output when it comes to the new Forza title. I wish Raytracing wasn't so critical to the marketing of new games. Id much rather have frame rate. All the goofball drooling idiots out there are always like, "Gimme gimmie bigboi Gwafix NOW!"

If grass acted like it does in Forza Motorsports, we wouldn't need crash barriers. . .

The PC version is completely bollocksed for me. Disappearing textures, no roads!! randomly long (as in 5 minute) loading times just to get into a race, completely dumb AI - shocking. The disappearing road textures make i it completely unplayable. I'll check back again in 6 months.

So glad this review was straight cut and no bs hype talk. ACC for now I suppose.

Guys, do you think, they'll improve the FFB, physics, in the future ? I mean for PC / wheel...

Unfortunately, the rating system is fairly bad when no penalties are applied, 90% of the time the game gives no penalties and 9% it gives them to the wrong person. Someone rammed you? well too bad, still getting a 3-second penalty for AVOIDABLE collision. Reducing the Graphic settings does hardly anything, it increases the range and height of frame drops, on max + RT it runs 20-60fps on my end, on medium 20-100 on low 20-160, but it consistently dips down to 20, which causes stutters, slow down, and all that, and at any given point it looks terrible. And thank god I have gamepass, so I didn't have to spend money on this tragedy.

even raceroom out of 2013 has better looking interior's that make you feel like your in a car.

I hate this car leveling system and upgrade system … the storymode is really bad too. Why not upgrade cars like in fh5 or other games ? This is just stupid. I don’t want to grind hours just to see the car is shit even fully upgraded. And I don’t want to do that for all cars … what a stupid system

Even Don Jowan song just didnt want to sit through singleplayer of this Like F1 despite it isnt sim and only had F1 it had exciting career loop imo

In a moment of madness (and sense of duty to those working on it) I went premium and it simply won’t boot on any PC I have. It’ll be a couch / TV game for me, but I’m fully expecting to try it and decide to never play it again. Then remove everything to do with the Microsoft store from my copy of windows once again. Yay.

What game do you play has the best graphics if Forza motorsport is that bad?

Last Horizon and this Forza game were the first Forza games I experienced. What a boring, by the numbers, uninspired, lazy experiences they delivered. Reminds me of every ubisoft game made in last 10 years. Glad I had game pass and didn't spend more money on it apart from subscription. To call these games a disappointment is a compliment to the developers.

I don't know how any of you are surprised by any of this. Nearly all new games launch like this now. Developers even con us into "beta's", "preorders" and "early access" just so we can do the fault finding for them. And still, we all lap it up and eagerly hand over our cash. We basically pay them for our own labour 😂. As long as the market is continually willing to do this, nothing will change.

I bought this on console and it's definitely not worth getting. GT Sport and GT7 are miles better offline / singla player games. Sure they're not Assetto Corsa but they have solid driving physics. All the cars in this game oversteer like hell and AI is insane. FFB is poor. This game ain't much better than Project Cars 3, really. Almost as big of a disappointment.

I decided to finally get ACC for my PC. instead of Forza, after watching many of the prerelease reviews. Just what I was afraid of from the cooperate giants who make games as a sideline. It is just another cash cow scheme that ends up as another "soulless" copy of the games that are made by the enthusiast, Games which have tons of heart and soul put into their genera Looking forward to Assetto Corsa 2 to fulfill other types of racing besides GT3. Which ACC covers.

Forza reminds me of Madden these days. Forza hasnt been good since Forza Motorsport 4. The camera angles they've brought in since Forza 6 are the main reason this game has gone to shit...

As every review take with a massive pinch of crap. This isn't as bad as the review portrays. Yes it's no full SIM like rf2 but it's good for a console game. I imagine there's to be lots added to the base yes it can feel a little thin on content. I was disappointed with the gfx after having gt7. It's just not on par imo Career I hated the gt7 cafe pitiful idea of a career. Least in Forza they have the risk reward idea. Yes the AI needs improvement but again not as bad and better than most other Sims ie ACC etc

Early Access for 70-100€. Great. Or... thinking about it... Well... No. Thanks. I really were looking forward to this since I played every FM and FH game since FM2 released in 2007. This kind of release is bad in my opinion. You pay a lot for a game that is unfinished and marketed as a developing platform but you do not get any specifics how the roadmap is supposed to look linke and e.g. how many and which tracks you can expect for the money you already spend but did not get the appropriate contend for. The best I can find on that is that in "forseable future" new tracks will be added for free but that can mean anything. Could be 10 completely new tracks for free or just 1 or 2 converted from FM7 and after that every track is sold for 5-10€. The AI needs a lot of "adjustment", the penalty system is a joke judging by what we can see from Jamed ramming everyone off but noone cares and even gives XP for a lot of awesome overtakes. The singleplayer is boring af and online will end up being wreckfest in public with such an bad penalty system I guess. You throw the money at them in advance, though they are not liable for a lot of things some might expect for that money since they just thrown vague stuff out there that can mean anything. Also I just reinstalled FM7 lately, guess what MS has thrown it out of the store and I needed some research to figure out how to download the game I am supposed to own and paid 100€ a few years ago, that gives a taste of how they feel about long life support. I will stay with FM7 for now, I was looking forward to FM but not for that money with that lacking contend and all the bad aspects. Maybe I will get FM at a sale some time in the future or if AFTER they delivered some great contend. At least I am on PC and since winter is near I will dust off my Sim Rig and hop back in my favorites AC, R3E, DR2.0 and Wreckfest. Great review especially since a lot of peaple seem to be quite a bit biased cause they got some early access and maybe dont want to put them into a bad relationship with the publisher....

4090 running at 100fps with everything maxed and no dlss. Took my time with the force feedback settings, and havent stopped playing. Some car models are off but Im liking the force feedback. Also tip: create and advanced custom race, Le Mans old layout, set assists to maximum, let xbox or console running. Car will drive itself and you will gain about 12 lvls per 10 laps.

Got to love hardcore simracers bashing GT and FOrza yet use hoodcam.....

Well, saves me another purchase.. between this and Starfield, I’ll go ahead and get Baldur’s Gate 3.

All those years after the last one and it does not seem like they have done a whole lot. Does not really deserve a rebranding, should have been called Forza 8. Will buy and get enjoyment out of but a bit disappointing. The body kits (lack of) and forza aero herpes hasn't changed over multiple iterations now. Feels dated instead of bleeding edge AAA racer.

Im very disappointed in this game. It feels good to drive i play on gamepad on xbox and it drives well and looks great. They are my only positives. The career is far too short, and every event feels the same. There is no drift or drag events, and all the different cups feel the same to play through. This isnt helped by the car upgrade system, where all upgrades are unlocked at the same rate, so you generally end up with every build being built up in the same order. The ai needs improvement, doing the same stupid things its done on the same tracks in the same places that they have since fm4. The cars that pull ahead of the others in the races are pretty quick (on difficulty 7) but the cars in p4 and lower are just clown cars. And the sounds. They are awful. I use bonnet cam mostly and it changes the audio in a way so you can hardly hear the engine at all. In fm4 every car sounded like you were in the engine bay. Chase cam sounds good but i cant drive on that view. And every slight impact has the same generic loud crash sound. It doesn't sound right when you run onto kerbs or gravel either. I do like the online race setup with the qualifying beforehand. Overall i am very disappointed in the game.

Eh, it's Forza, just like Gran Turismo is Gran Turismo. I like them both for different reasons. They rebooted the series and they say they're leaning more motorsport. I'll ride with them as they rescan and add tracks, cars, events, improvements, etc. It's only fair. Many of the PC sims played today sucked ass for years until they reached their current status.

The ugly wheel animation of Forza drives me crazy, I can't stand it!! It's been this way for a while. At the time stamp of 13:06 to 13:11 pay attention to the wheel of the number 75 racecar. The wheel is chrome but then it like morphs to black, it just adds this layer of fake-ness, and as long as this game been in the making this is inexcusable. GT doesn't have this problem as well as many other racing games and this is next gen??!! There are other graphical issues thats just on an Atari level that should not be pop ups rendering issues it's just phony! Then have the nerve to port certain cars over, but built from the ground up, but yet I'm enjoying this short game...what da hell.
